Our first cruise was a Navigator Med cruise. It was fantastic. We went in the fall and there were still kids but definitely less than summer or spring break time.
The city heavy cruises are great but it’s stressful to get everything done in such a short time. I think the beach option is a great way to go.

Very low percentage, only once for the 9 Southern Caribbean ports (can't remember which) we visited two weeks ago. However 100% of the time at Nassau.
St. Kitts asked this week. 😉

You sail by a rum distillery right by the port. I don’t know the name but it was pointed out to us by locals. Appears just a short taxi ride away.

We did not sail by them. They are a long way from port.

Ok we completed this tour today. My feedback:
I wasn’t aware we were to take a boat to the zipline. I guess I didn’t read the description. This wasn’t a problem but just thought I’d share.
The boat ride took a solid hour from port to Soufries. It started pouring rain about halfway into the trip. Sputtered and restarted a few times. It was pouring when we finally arrived and they kept us on the boat for another 10 min or so to see what the weather would do. A call up to the zipline where they said it was clearing so off the boat and on to a bus for the ride up. That took about another 10 min.
Zipline crew suited us all up super quick and off we went. Very short training session. Having ziplined before, this want an issue for me but make make newbies nervous.
We did a total of 7-8 lines. Once done we were rushed back to get our gear off and get back to the boat. We left Soufries at 4:30 for the hour ride and all aboard at 5:30. We pulled up along side the ship and climbed out onto the pier and directly to the boat due to our late arrival.
The boat crew was fun and started a dance party on the way back. The zip guides were good and I did feel safe. The views were beautiful. I just felt very rushed due to our delayed departure from port and then rain delay. I’m not sure if we got all the lines or if it was shortened due to time constraints. Overall I have mixed feelings about it. I wasn’t prepared for such a long trip and then being rushed through the whole experience. It was fun though and I don’t regret doing it.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you have questions.

Lack of photo won’t slow you down.
You may have some discounts loaded on your seapass for gold. You should get a flyer in your room that tells you what you get.

Agree with above. Just left St. Maarten yesterday. Still lots of destruction around. Best best is to cab to a beach and chill. Plenty of adult beaches with drinks and food.

This was all still available as of Saturday.

The Med cruises are so port intensive that it’s not really about the ship. You spend all day in port, return for dinner, maybe do a show or something else and then bed. I think they will be fine.

We depart on Adventure on Saturday. Received an email today about boarding times (I’ve already checked in and selected my time). It noted they are boarding by deck and you should arrive during your assigned deck time. Starts with Deck 10 and goes down.
I don’t have any issue with my deck or boarding time but was just wondering if this was a new process? Is this more enforceable than selecting boarding times? Will they even enforce this?
Just curious.

I would agree that Venice is the best departure port. Unfortunately the airfares tend to be much higher to that city than the others. I’ve also done Rome and Barcelona departures. All of them were fantastic. It truly is just a taste of the cities but still wonderful.

While I can’t quote a price for the trip you want I can say we used Uber to and from Cape Liberty last year with no problems at all.
-
We leave this weekend on Adventure and have this excursion booked. I’ll let you know!

What airports can Uber not go to? There may be one out there but I've never been to an airport that Uber wasn't allowed at. Also each port I've been to, Uber has been able to drop me off and pick me up right at the terminal doors.
I believe Atlanta, Orlando, Philly, and Detroit don’t allow airport pick ups unless the driver has a livery or chauffeur license. It doesn’t mean they can’t drop you back off at the airport. Also, some airports allow pick ups but from a remote location that you have to walk/bus to.
As for taxi fares, I thought there was a thread around here about the zones and rates associated. I could have read that somewhere else though as I was looking for it too. I recall the most expensive fare noted was about $25 from airport to pier.

We leave next week but from what I’ve read, cabs are plentiful and cheap. Hotel Milano seems to get a lot of great reviews on here. We are at the Courtyard in Condado. I don’t think there is much near the Pan American Port? I believe from OSJ to Pan American it’s like a 10 minute ride so I would stay wherever you prefer and jus can it to Port.

I’ll be in a Grand on the 24th. I know it’s not what you’re looking for but happy to share photos if it’s helpful.

For the perks, yes. For just the room, no. I was not a fan of the Gs on Anthem. It felt super tight and we did not like the layout at all.

Like you, I’ve flown in same day many times. I think with a direct flight you would be fine. I know that goes against the grain around here but I would be comfortable with it.

We were able to book the escape room prior to cruising via the cruise planner. My understanding is that this is hit or miss, but for some reason it was an option for us.
We were in a larger groups and the “host” stayed in the room with us (other escape rooms have them remotely monitoring). It’s a bit chaotic at times with people going in 100 different directions, but it’s still fun. We solved it before time was up.

We did Explorer out of Seattle and loved it. Yes, it’s just a taste of Alaska but we really enjoyed it. We had a GS and really used the balcony quite a bit. Saw whales breaching and had amazing views.
We did the dog sled camp and White Pass train ride. Interesting but we were falling asleep at the end of the train portion. Hiked Mendenhall Glacier which was amazing. Would have loved to do the helicopter ride but felt it was too pricey. Also, they all ended up cancelled due to weather. Ziplined in BC at the request of my daughter. Super fun.
Overall I would definitely recommend the cruise. You can’t see it all but you can always return.

I only get it if required by work. This year it’s only10% effective which is also part of the reason the flu is so widespread this year.

Hotel thread has successful stays starting in December so all should continue to be well.

I just booked a room there for March.

They just danced on Adventure on Friday. It was our sea day so many only then?
