At White Night tonight Captain Gianmario confessed all, and offered total transparency as to the power outage that happened as we left Livorno. Apparently a fuse blew in his hair dryer 😂

WTC docking was confirmed by Captain G during his noon announcement.

We are now back in Livorno until around 16:00, the Captain was keen to stress that both Italian bureaucracy and the fact it is a Sunday will not speed up our clearance to sail for Barcelona. Surprisingly we are being allowed to disembark.

The Captain has been very transparent by explaining Maritime law and regulations regarding the ship being passed fit to sail. In the meantime we sit and wait for the seal of approval to sail. Monaco has been dropped.

So was 07:30 in the morning when the Captain addressed the ship too late for you?

They are not going to communicate anything during the night and cause panic. I would expect announcements between 7am and 8am when most people will be up.

Yesterday evening around 20:50 Onward suffered an electrical failure as we sailed from Livorno for Monaco. Twenty minutes later power was restored. Anchor was dropped off the coast to bring shore based staff on board to ensure everything was satisfactory. Based on Apple Maps, Google Maps and Cruise Mapper, this morning we are still anchored off Livorno, and the air con went off around 6am. It’s a bit early for announcements from the bridge.

It’s a great suite, we had it last year. Quiet and right beside stairs and elevators. We also had Elro as our butler and he is the best.

Vicki, like you I received this email and as Discoverer Plus was totally bewildered by it. I have been tempted to waste my precious time and ring Azamara to try and procure a 40% discount 😜 I'll probably wait until I'm onboard check out the tonic water situation, and the Ultimate Package wines and use my OBC if they tick all the boxes.

Unfortunately Gary Bembridge’s videos are all about Gary Bembridge! I tracked back through all of his videos in chronological order (from the most recent) and unless he cruises and then doesn’t do a video (highly unlikely) it is over a year since he set foot on an Azamara ship. He is making assumptions by what he has read about the substandard shoreside experience, and not reflecting the onboard professionalism.

We cruised on Onward in June 2022 on the fourth cruise post refurbishment, and lets just say there work in progress to get the ship up to Azamara’s standard. It hasn’t put us off as we are booked to return in a few weeks. Whilst onboard we had a conversation with Tony Markey who was present at both the Onward and Pursuit refurbishments, when asked about the end result (post refurbishment) of the two ships he nearly choked, in replying that Pursuit was a vastly superior job. From what I have read on these forums Azamara seem to have done a great job, whilst in operation to bring Onward up to the condition she is in now.

We disembarked at Galataport in June 2022, we had completed our 10,000 steps by the time we got out of the terminal.

We are on 7th November, hopefully you can keep us informed.

From what I understand he is due back towards the end of October.

I've done that with only partial success to date. Let's call it work in progress.

I knew it was too good to last. During all the trials and tribulations of the Az website all my details and bookings including OBC and Azamara circle level all remained correct. I have just checked today and it is now zilch! It will probably correct itself in due course, so much for thinking I’d escaped unscathed. I’m not going to get too hung up by it.

I’m not onboard Onwards yet, I will be in a few weeks time. Maybe as FFMilesJunkie who is the original poster of the wine photograph can help.

Excuse the pun, but its a bit like horses for courses The two golf courses are like chalk and cheese, Royal Portrush is a Links course and Adare Manor parkland.

If Azamara has one ship that calls at Foynes once a year is it a big deal for the crew. There are plenty of other stops were the crews needs can be met. What would be worse for the crew is being a cruise line like RCI or Viking were they repeat and repeat and repeat the ports of call for an entire season.
