Just sat and read through your very detailed review. Thank you! We’ll be doing the same, but in reverse, in March.

I thought it's 'deluxe balcony' rooms that have a sofa, and normal 'balcony rooms' have a chair?

I found in the past it doesn't work with Safari, but works great with Firefox.

We were actually talking about when the seat booking option closes here, rather than when it opens. Booked ours just after midnight bang on the 14 week point.

Oops, yes you were, and I had commented early in the thread. Just misread the post. Sorry [emoji52]

Think it may be as early as 14 days before? Booked ours for Feb, but it's always a cause of strife to see seats blocked out and restrictions on what you can and can't book.

It's 14 weeks before, at midnight. Not that we bothered on our recent flight to Barbados. Still sat together, with extra legroom too!

We just got home last weekend. Our 4th (black and white) formal was on the Tuesday that we were in Antigua. If it had been on last sea day (Thursday) it would have been the night before disembarking for a lot of people, which would have been difficult for packing.

We leave it on, it's part of the holiday cost to us. We still give the room steward a tip when we leave.

You might find my review/comparison from earlier this year of interest...
Thanks for the link to your review kruzgal. I just read it all with interest, as we're going on Britannia the week after next. We've cruised with Princess for the past eight years, so it was good to read your views on P&O. I'm disappointed that you can't get free ice cream, or fruit juice during the daytimes, but it was expected. I didn't see a mention of whether they have a pizzeria with the grill on the lido deck, do you know?
We will go with open minds, and expect some differences. I am sure we'll enjoy it.

I also enjoy the Princess grill plus Pizzeria. Do they have pizzeria on Britannia?

I wouldn't pay in advance either. Just have your towels with you, and if no sunbeds are available, you could manage with the towels.

Yes, website and 'book now' from Facebook page are all working fine now. Fingers crossed all is well and you have a great excursion with them. I'm sure you will. They are so good, we've even thought of doing the tour again, even though we did it six years ago.

This is very strange, we've used them in the past and highly recommend them. I just went to their Facebook page which looked ok, but when I clicked on 'book now' it went to the same suspended webpage. Did you pay any deposit yet? Maybe you can try calling them?

I opted out, or 'go green', or whatever. But I managed to create and print (175 pages!) my own brochure and the next day, one arrived in the post from P&O! I couldn't print it with Safari or Firefox, but ended up on Explorer at work, and that was fine. The tickets in the back had the wrong cabin number, as the day we received it we'd had an upgrade. So still had to print more myself. So much for choosing paperless!

ClareAde, are you going 4/5th November? We're on that cruise. There is a roll call on here, if you've not already found it [emoji4]

In winter in the U.K. I may wear silky 'hold ups' with a knee length party dress. But I haven't worn tights (as we call them in the U.K.) for over 20 years! On a cruise, if my legs haven't tanned then I'd definitely use my Skinny Tan mousse to brown them. You have to show your painted toes off [emoji39]

Ha ha, I obviously posted this in the wrong thread! My apologies.

We are going on Britannia in November too. I have a long cerise formal gown, which I intend to wear twice (as so far I've only worn it once, and I love it!) I do have a long black one for B/W night. My other formal gown is very multi-coloured/rainbowy. Pink is no problem at all. [emoji4]

We've also been given an upgrade on Britannia this week. We chose D701 aft, close to the laundry then I don't have far to go to use the iron when necessary (sad, I know, ha ha). Now we're mid ship E343, which looks a pretty long walk to the laundry! Still, it will help burn off the calories [emoji6] Don't think we could have turned it down, the number is already on our luggage labels.

Is the 'soda and more' unlimited, or is it only so many drinks? I've been used to paying for the soda package, getting a free Princess drink bottle each time, and they've just filled it up as often as I liked.

I emailed a week ago, to get the credit added to our 4th November cruise. Just had email confirmation today [emoji3]

Snaefell, not sure where you are in Cheshire? We're in Nantwich, and we take the train straight to Manchester Airport. It’s so easy. Of course, that may not be convenient, depending where you live.
