Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Thank You so very much. I see that the $100 OBC for over 55 is for HAL. I did not see the HAL and thought it was for RC or Celebrity (or Princess). I do get the booking reduction for over 55 (I think) when I book on these lines. VERY MUCH appreciate your response. Art
  2. Is AARP the same as over 55. Been on 30+ RC cruises + many other cruise lines and did not know about AARP credits. Please post info. Thank you so much.
  3. I could mot determine if my SOBC $100 was ever credited on my last cruise. I had several OBCs lumped together and Guest Svs could not tell me. Just gave up. Does anyone know how to determine SOBC while on ship. Have several sailings coming up and would like to know if credited I did receive email and will print out. It had 4 sailings approved.
  4. Thank you so very much. I appreciate your quick response. This info will reduce the weight of our luggage due to one less dress for my wife. What percentage of the guests wore Tux for the 3 formal nights?
  5. Hi, everyone! Ronnie and Art here and looking forward to the cruise. We have seen a reference to "gold night" which may be a theme night of some kind. Could not find any reference in the App or web site, but several folks have mentioned it. Could someone let us know more info about it and where could I find it listed. I also understand no other theme nights. We will be packing soon and want to include clothes for themes. See everyone on board. Have a safe trip to LA!
  6. Thank you so very much for your very complete and clear discussion. We are looking at Viking Cruise on Danube and saw the "free airfare" add. When searching further, the ECONOMY was listed with a line crossing out the original price (about $1200 and about $600 listed). BUT, when looking at Economy Plus it was an additional $2000 and Business was an additional $4000. Also, we also travel a few days before a cruise and stay a few days after. Your info about Viking Air Plus was very helpful as we do not want to be stuck in middle seats and the upgrade costs via Viking seams to negate any value in using Viking Air +. I have been looking a First Class/Business Class airfare consolidators and have not used them. Do you have a recommendation We fly Business/First for long trips but have not used consolidators and want to use them in future if reputable and trustworthy. Would appreciate your experience with them and any suggestions.
  7. The confirmation paper should have the location and the bed number (ours did). I am sure they can change the location of any available. Also, there are two rows offset. We had the row closest to the water. The offset is behind with a view of the water. Request your concierge to get you a "water front" beach bed. Enjoy the bed, chairs and floating mats. Let me know what happens. My best, Art
  8. Wife and I rented a bed at Breezy Bay and it was great. Not many folks there (June cruise on Enchantment out of Baltimore). We took the shuttle to the beds (it was a long way around, but we did not know how far a walk it would be). The bed concierge gave us towels but did not see her again. Restaurant and bar near by (never saw a server to take my order so went to the bar). Since there were two rows of beds strung out, we had fewer people in the water in front of our beds. We booked the same bed for our Sept Allure Cruise. I had the same question about which location would be best and decided the Breezy Bay would be less crowded as further from the ship - a good decision. We have been watching the reservations for our cruises and see the Chill area beds usually sell out first. If you want quite and willing to walk or take the shuttle, I recommend Breeze Bay for a Bed. The beds are preassigned and have the guest's name on a blackboard attached to the bed frame. The bed as curtains which can be closed to block out the sun. Two floats, two chairs and a cooler with 4 bottles of water come with the bed. We will always order a beach bed in Breezy Bay when not taking the family to CoCo Cay (with family we get a Cabana in Water Park). Hope this helps in the location decision to get a Beach Bed. My recommendation is order early and one can always cancel before the port.
