We are flying in to Boston the day before our October 23 cruise. We would rather stay closer to the port and not the airport. I don't expect a city hotel to be cheap so just looking for recommendation for a hotel that we can walk to some places.

Thanks for the Compasses. We sail next Monday (though we are in an Oceanview, not a suite) and don't have a beverage or dining package, so we'll miss Chops, but make great use of the Windjammer and Sorrento's...
We will be there next Monday too! So happy not to cook and clean for a few days. Escargot every night!

Thank you. I've been on hold for 30 mins to ask. Call was finally answered but he is trying to check since he can't answer me. Not surprised.

If I don't prepay my gratuities can the shareholder OBC be used once on the ship to pay them? I know this works with my RC VIsa points but not sure about the stock.

Thanks for the great review. Can't wait to hear about the rest of the week. The pictures are wonderful. First time on Oasis in December and you are making me want to start packing right now.
-
Thanks for your review. We leave in a month and you have made me want to start packing now! The largest ship we have been on is Freedom so very excited to see how big Oasis really is.

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh!!! Very important question - how were the mattresses? [emoji16]
We were on Freedom 2 weeks ago. The beds are like rocks. My husband loved it. I thought it would bother me but after a full day and a couple of drinks I slept great. I love being rocked to bed on a ship.

We are on Freedom 3 weeks from today. I hope after the election things are calm in Haiti. I would hate to miss my favorite, relaxing, soak up the rays beach day.

I didn't win either. My plan was to just live on a cruise ship forever. No cooking and no cleaning sounds great. I guess I will need to play again since there wasn't a winner last night.

This will be our first time on Royal Caribbean. I usually like to bring a bottle of diet cranberry juice on board and purchase a bottle of vodka for my room once on board. We will be on the Liberty of the Seas is this permitted?
I did not see on line where I can pre-order a bottle of vodka - do I need to wait until I am on board?
Thanks Carmen
You can't order vodka for your room. But you can carry on diet cranberry. I bring a six pack of the mini bottles on every cruise. You have to figure out how to bring the vodka. I can't give my secret.

Great to hear there is no shortage. Freedom in 36 days and plan on eating them every night! Had them last year every night and totally enjoyed them.

I wish they would enforce this on all ships. I usually stay on the top deck away from the pools but as the sun starts going down I like to read in the solarium. Last December cruise there were always loud kids around, not in, the pool with their parents. Being a teacher I have enough of loud kids all year and really wanted to relax.

49 days until our 4th time on the Freedom. I can hardly wait. We are building a house and moving to central Florida this summer. I am sad that Freedom is moving from Port Canaveral since that will only be 90 miles from our new home. I would continue booking this ship since we have only had positive experiences. Of course we always see grumpy people complaining about everything. You have to make it fun and have fun with the people working on the ship and they will have fun with you. The help always goes above and beyond for us because we are friendly to them. Any day that I don't have to cook and clean is a great day. Enjoy your trip.

92 days until my 4th cruise on the Freedom. I am going to sad when it is moved from Port Canaveral. We have booked the ice show online before going each time. It sounds like this has changed. Is is still possible to before before leaving?

One of the reasons we left Carnival and haven't looked back is the tacky decor. The dining rooms are decorated over the top that I hated eating in there. Pink/purple light fixtures that resemble bathroom lights are too much when I want to eat a nice dinner. Also I never see people pushing in line for food like I did on carnival. I saw plenty of "Wal-Mart" looking people on Carnival.

Freedom is a great choice. We will be on Freedom in February for the 4th time. We drive to Port Canaveral and it is so easy. If you are driving you might want to consider parking off site. It is cheaper and they make it easy to drop off and pick up your car at Park Canaveral. Don't miss the ice show. The ship is beautiful and you will have a blast.

We have been on Freedom 3 times and have never seen anyone telling the kids to leave the solarium. I hang out there to get away from kids since I am a teacher. I wish Royal would enforce the rules.
Our muster was in the MDR.They do have the solarium pool area but no one monitors the no kids rule. Unfortunate

We have Freedom booked for February and would love to try the new cabins. Just not worth the money. I will stick with a balcony.
-
Escargot every night last Christmas cruise on the Freedom. Dip them in the cheesy rolls. 4 of us ordered them every dinner in the MDR and then tables around us started getting them.
-
What sale? Checked our FOS Feb. 2016 sailing and the price increased $500 pp for our balcony room. I would love to have one of the new rooms on deck 12 but not going to pay more even for a room without a balcony for that location. Glad I got a good deal when I booked months ago.

My son's favorite hangout is the Crypt. We were on the Freedom for Christmas and he was glad it was still there. Sad that they just want to put more cabins and more dining that they charge for.
-
Had them every night on our Christmas cruise on the Freedom. Dipped in the cheesy roll they are great. The 4 of us at the table loved them. Our waiter said we were the only table in his area ordering them. I told him good more for us.

2 more day until we board the Freedom. Wish us luck.

What's the consensus of wearing the RCCL robes to and from the pool area?
Personally I don't see why some get upset. It's a nice cover for swim wear. JMHO

Great if you are on a Carnival Ship. They had a robe party on deck one night. Please not on Royal.:D

Thanks for starting your post. We will be on Voyager on Oct. 23 with almost the same ports. Have never been to Maine or Canada so we are excited. We are home sick with covid right now after escaping getting it for 2 1/2 years. We are glad we have it now and hopefully will test negative in October. Can't wait to hear about the ports.
