  1. JB isn’t Dovercourt station in Harwich, Essex?
  2. New Forest for me too! Perhaps visit Lymington and Milford on Sea too. Bournemouth has good beaches but is not quaint.
  3. We were on the back deck at 1:00pm today, in t shirts, some in light jackets. Absolutely packed out.
  4. You’re asked not to bring your own as it blocks the waste system🤷🏼‍♀️
  5. We’ve sailed on SAGA too. We haven’t been on SofA, but we sailed on her sister ship SofD (Spirit of Discovery ). You will love the Vista. Lots of different places to eat. The time will fly by. Enjoy your cruise.
  6. Oooops sorry Babs. If you do press Biscay it does give you a weather forecast.😋
  7. But that doesn’t include the Bay of Biscay, does it? It isn’t shown in red.🤷🏼‍♀️
  8. In May Oceania had the luggage tags etc. sent to us in the UK. It was posted from Miami, We couldn’t believe the number of postage stamps on the package 😄 It must have doubled the weight of the package. We couldn’t understand why it couldn’t have been sent by email and we could then print the luggage tags. So even now it would make sense to email the luggage labels (as we in the UK call them). Cunard do that.
  9. OK thanks Lyn. Oceania, if so then not good enough!😡
  10. Lyn, Do you know what happens about the luggage labels? Wyn
  11. Whoops….wrong ship. Was QM2. 🙄 Yes it did seem to work for the person that we spoke to.🤷🏼‍♀️
  12. Hmmmm. At Christmas, we met someone who said he’d seen money change hands, so he joined in. We never saw this happening.
  13. Thanks for your understanding 😃🍟
  14. Oh! Steak fries, or chunky chips in the UK, are glorious. Delicious! Good news for me that O serve Steak fries. 😄 Sorry to digress.
  15. Possibly because it was plugged in and unsupervised. 🤷🏼‍♀️
  16. Good! I do need my straightening tongs/iron.😀
  17. Coming from the UK I understood a flat iron to be an item used to flatten/straighten clothes. These are available for use on board and there’s no need to weigh down your luggage with one.🙂. For hair we use the terms curling tongs and straightening tongs.I understood that these were allowed on board. 🤔
  18. Are they Redcurrants .. Redcurrants are quite tart/sour 😳
  19. Road distance Southampton to Dover is approx 150 miles.not 250 miles Train distance is about 120 miles. By sea, 😳just over 100miles.
  20. Happy Christmas from QM2.🎄 calm seas and pleasant weather ⛅️
  21. Yesterday on QM2 was horrendous….hit a storm. I was having a manicure, chairs were moving, lots of crashing. Nail technician sucking on sea sickness tablets.😳 Today on QM2 wind has dropped and people are walking on deck. Temperature 20c. Getting quite Caribbean like. 🌴 Happy Christmas everyone.🎄
  22. We are also on the QM2. We were on a six hour tour yesterday ‘Christmas in New York’. The disembarkation and re boarding was swift and very well organised by the Red Hook people. We were kept separate from the passengers disembarking at the end of their cruise. We went through separate Passport checks (10 minute wait) and the same on our return. So quick and efficient. We were expecting huge queues, but we were kept moving by several friendly helpful people directing us and wishing us a Happy Christmas.😄
  23. Not on the Atlantic in December, surely 😳
