  1. Thanks for the update bigjo1. Can you tell us in which country you live please as it doesn't show on your profile.
  2. I wonder what today's message was supposed to be? 🙂
  3. Doubt it. We're Diamond. We should be on the QM2 now (20th May cruise). We cancelled with online TA on 15th March and their acknowledgement email was on 23rd March. Over 60 days now and heard nothing since.
  4. I don't know if it's of any help but I got an email today off P&O and seeing as the same people are processing both Cunard & P&O refunds: In the past few weeks, despite the challenges, we have been able to put new technology, systems and additional resource in place which will result in more refunds being processed more quickly, and we intend that this will improve the situation daily. Following initial trials of our new processes, we are responding to refund requests received in date order, with this our priority focus and will respond to your request as soon as we possibly can.
  5. from today's Daily Mail: Cruising: Is it Sink or Swim? There is no easy short-term future for cruising. Ships have been docked since March and will remain so for the foreseeable future. But that could work to the industry's advantage, as it will allow plenty of time to bring in new safety procedures. The long-term future looks bright. Cruising is a growing market because people are living longer, travelling later in their lives than ever before The Cruise Line Association, which represents major cruise companies in the UK, is working on measures such as pre-cruise testing of passengers, temperature testing (this may also apply in every port), increased sanitising and social distancing on board. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8332911/Are-going-summer-holiday-Millions-wondering.html
  6. There's a glimpse of the QM2 in Weymouth Bay in this video clip from tonight's news on ITV. There's also coverage of the ships stuck in the Philippines. https://www.itv.com/news/2020-05-18/what-has-happened-to-cruise-ship-staff-stuck-during-coronavirus-lockdown/
  7. I know of a couple of agents who undercut Cunard by quite a bit.
  8. QM2 is now off to Weymouth closely followed by the QV which is going to Portland. Azura and Britannia have also left.
  9. First it was toilet rolls, now it's building materials. This is the typical scene at B&Q and B&M.
  10. The BBC TV did an article on cruising from Southampton this morning. Here are some notes. The chairman of Carnival UK says the industry will have to return slowly so health protocols can be tested and passenger confidence restored. They interviewed someone from West Quay Cars who said he personally doesn't think cruising will return this year. Suppliers to the industry are struggling and some may not be there when cruising resumes. Cruising generates £10bn for the UK economy each year. Cruising stopping for 90 days is a -£2.37bn hit. Nearly 14k jobs have been lost in the supply chain.
  11. QM2 is back in Southampton for the day. But then not back until the 15th according to Southampton VTS.
  12. I've managed to find the Countess reference on this forum - posts by Sogne and Safarigal on this thread: https://boards.cruisecritic.co.uk/topic/2712751-save-the-date/?tab=comments#comment-59327251
  13. The name Queen Anne has been on the following website for months, if not a year. (page 14) http://www.amem.at/pdf/AMEM_Cruise-Ships-on-Order.pdf On the Trademarks website the name was opposed a while ago https://trademarks.ipo.gov.uk/ipo-tmcase/page/Results/1/UK00003422742 A while ago someone posted on here to think more in the line of Countess, rather than Queen.
  14. Have you all seen/heard the Tom Roberts poem The Great Ralisation? Makes you think. https://youtu.be/Nw5KQMXDiM4
