Thanks for our TGIF Daily, Rich. Great collection of days but, like many Canadians I’ll be joining in celebrating Truth & Reconciliation day. Thanks @puppycanducruisefor mentioning it 👍 I like the Tolkien quote. So true - no one knows how much time they have (trust me, I know) so best to make the most of what we have. Ooh - I know that wine (err champagne). Quite delicious. Nafplion, Greece is lovely spot. My pics are too old to share though. 😔 Thanks everyone for the help on Florida hotels (here & by pm) 👍 It was very appreciated. I’ve solved one conundrum. Prices in January are nuts - so by the time I did the math, decided that the over priced air far wasn’t that bad - pretty much a wash - so I’ll fly out on disembarkation day. That just leaves pre-cruise - Was all set to do the Hyatt until I realized it was 48 hour cancellation. Grrr - snow storms are not always that predictable. I’ll check on my insurance & may just break my usual mode and stay at Riverside Hotel in las Olas. A lot of hotels now seem to be requiring the 48 hour cancellation. Normally no problem - but in winter - it is. I think I have gotten out of shape coddling my knee - I was sorely tired yesterday after my work outside -emphasis on sore. On the bright side, the knee can now walk up and down stairs. It doesn’t like it, but it can do it. Watching the horrible scenes from Ian’s work. Devastating. So much destruction. I fear that there will be too many lives lost as well. It’s a b-r-r-ry morning out there. Hoping it warms up enough to do a smidge of work 🤞 Otherwise, I may be forced to clean in the house 😂 Prayers for everyone on the Care list, those in Ian’s path & those that may need them and 🥂 to those on the Celebratory / Shout Out list. Uh oh on the 3 day gap, Debbie. Yes that will be bump up the price quite a bit. 😔 We can’t take it with us though - so hopefully you can fake the cost. Glad your DBIL will be there to supervise the inspection and I’m sure he can address you concerns like Yes you’re rolling so enjoy - it’s been a bumpy ride and hopefully now it will be all smooth sailing for you (pardon the pun).

So much devastation from Fiona and now the horrific destruction by Ian 😢 I hope all and especially our CC friends in Florida have been able to stay safe from Ian and their damage is not too severe 🙏🏻 Prayers for everyone in Ian’s path 🙏🏻 Busy day ahead - going to try to get some serious planter work done outside. Ugh. But we have a frost warning tonight so that will finish off a lot - so time to bite the bullet before the flurries on Sunday. Yes, I said snow! it won’t stick but it won’t be work outside weather. I won’t finish of course, it takes a lot of time but I’m going to try to put a big dent in it 🤞 I’ll probably feel like this after: And try to find a hotel in FLL for pre and post cruise. Suggestions? I like being around 17th Street normally as tons close by. Usually stay at Embassy Suites but it’s ratings seem to be going down on tripadvisor. Decisions, decisions. In between, I’ll get some spread sheet updates done (I hope) and some key roll call work for the cruise. Probably an overly ambitious list but WTH - might as well try. Back after an interesting session and a talk with my therapist and lunch with my friends and absolutely horrified with what I am seeing on TV about Ian. Heartbroken for everyone on the Daily threatened and for everyone in it’s path. Looks like this is the year of the worst storms/hurricanes ever - First here and now in Florida 😢 Wonder now if people will start to believe that Global warming is a bad thing. They are actually the inspiration behind this. They invited me to join them but I just couldn’t find do-able flights from here to San Diego - either a ridiculous connection time of 1 hour and 10 minutes (no one gets through U.S. Customs in that time and connects - especially at Pearson) or hours of layover (and I do mean hours) and ridiculous pricing. I even tried flying straight to Honolulu and then going back. This is much easier flight wise and much better pricing for me as a solo. Would have loved to have sailed with them. I ignore the CC instructions (not correct according to the event co-ordinators I have talked to) as I have found it relatively easier to contact the event co-ordinators (877-885-4259) and find out who the co-ordinator is for my ship and then email them with the details (ship, # of people, date) and include my booking # for their reference. Generally speaking, you need 25 people for HAL to host the M & G. If you don’t have sufficient, then you can organize an informal one and arrange to meet at a place of your choosing. Good luck!

I am truly amazed at that - PEI is a real mess. Their premier said it would take months to recover. Frankly, I’d rather be going to Saguenay than PEI right now with the mess it’s in. JMO though.
