  1. I called the Casino at Sea reservation number 877-742-9524 and spoke with a representative that told me that they have updated the awards and that Pearl ranked players will be receiving $75 in OBC. Not budging on the free drinks in the casino though.
  2. Two years ago we took the ferry to Hamilton and did the free walking tour with the town crier. Ed Christopher (the town crier) seems to know almost everyone in town and almost everything about the neighborhoods. It's a lot of walking and the streets are not flat or even. Last year my brother and I toured the Bermuda National Museum right in the dockyard. Interesting stuff if you are a history buff. (yes I did the cruise 2 years in a row! something about no flying to the port) Unless you have OBC that you want to use up, no need to use NCL for the excursions. Flip
  3. We're taking the Breakaway out of Miami in May and I am looking to book airfare from Boston - Miami roundtrip. The itinerary has the ship at port at 7:00 AM. My past two cruises were on the Pearl and they did a "virtual" customs/immigration check in on the ship so we could get off the ship, grab our luggage and head home. (The last stop on the cruise was Bar Harbor ME which may be why they do it that way.) Do they do that on the Breakaway? I'm thinking of looking for the flight home to depart the airport around 12:30 and trying to figure out if I am giving us enough time to get off the ship and head to the airport for that time frame. Thanks, Flip
  4. Yes, this is associated with a slot tournament. Thanks for the information. Flip
  5. We're thinking of taking a cruise on the Breakaway in May that offers a masquerade ball and wondering if anyone has been to the ball and how it was? How dressed up do people get? And do they serve food or is it just a cocktail party? Thanks, Flip
  6. Hmm, I could have sworn that my player's card was handed to me at check-in last year before boarding the Pearl . But, things were a little crazy leading up to the cruise. So my memory could be off.
  7. Were you cruising on a casino offer? I've always received my players card and drink card when I checked in at the check-in desk when I checked in. I never picked them up at the casino.
  8. I don't remember if we got a confirmation or not when we registered. You probably can just show up. I don't think that there was a maximum number for the tour.
  9. We did it last June and loved it. Some of the people in our tour were locals that were doing it again with friends that were visiting Bermuda.
  10. I did the walking tour last June and we loved it. Ed Christopher, the town crier, seems to know everyone in Hamilton or is related to them. we were able to tour the temporary Parliament hall while it was not in session. We took the ferry from the dockyard to Hamilton and it was $9 roundtrip
  11. I have sticky notes at my desk that I count down. When it gets down to double digits it feels like the cruise will be here before you know it. 73 days. Flip
  12. I get text messages all the time telling me that my Netflix or Amazon has been closed because of some excuse or another. I don't have either and a simple review of their email address will show that's not coming from either company. (for some reason these texts always seem to come from an email address and not a phone number. I simple trick to see if the email address is legitimate is to hover your mouse over the email for a few seconds and it will show you the actual email address that it's sent from. Flip
  13. I think that you are misconstruing what BirdTravels posted. The casino will open up at 9:00 PM until closing while docked in Bermuda. I was on the Pearl last June and that was the case. I usually left the casino around 2:00 AM so I can't say how late is closing. Flip
  14. As far as I know, it's part of the beverage perk that CAS players get in the casino. Where are people getting the insane notion that you have to spend $175K or $250K to reach Pearl status? To reach Pearl status you need to cycle through $25,000. The only way that you would actually spend that amount would mean that you lost every hand or spin of the slot machine. Flip
  15. My wife and I have only cruised on the Jewel, Dawn, Gem and the Pearl and have enjoyed every cruise. We're booked on the Pearl again this June from Boston to Bermuda. Flip
  16. You mean play through $25,000 and not spend $25K. I'm Pearl and I did not spend anywhere close $25K in the casino. However, I did play through 25K over the week in the casino. If I spent 25K in the casino, my wife would divorce me. Flip
  17. I wish that they enforced this on the Pearl last summer. There were a bunch of kids running around the fitness center a few times when I went to workout. Although they were with an adult, they were unsupervised.
  18. While it's part of the buffet, we grabbed lunch at the Great Outdoors which wasn't as hectic as the main buffet and it was a nice day to be outside. We took the ferry over to Hamilton on Monday and did the town crier walking tour of Hamilton. It's about a 2 hour tour through the capital city and was free. The ferry was $9 roundtrip per person as was not the NCL ferry. Flip
  19. We're on the June 2nd cruise and hoping there are different performers for the Legends show for this cruise. @styles27Can you post after your cruise if it was a different cast? Thanks, Flip
  20. My son's girlfriend broke up with him about a month before our cruise and she was the one that booked their room. Fortunately she was very good about letting us find someone to take her place and just asked for part of the money that she had paid. My son's cousin got a really good deal for a cruise from Boston to Bermuda. The hardest part of swapping the reservation was contacting her agent, but we were able to get it changed and there was no charge. Flip
  21. We did the Bermuda cruise this past June and we're booked on the Pearl out of Boston this coming June. I want to say that someone posted copies of their Free Style Dailies from an earlier cruise than the one that we were on. So I was able to get an idea of the daily activities before we departed. You could probably do a search for the thread if you're interested. Flip
  22. I left out of Boston in June for Bermuda and it was fairly quick to check in and we had an 11:00 check in. We did have to wait until they started boarding the ship which was around 12. But it went pretty smoothly. Flip
  23. If you've never been to Boston before, the Duck Boats are a great way to see the city. It takes a little less than 90 minutes. Flip
  24. On the Pearl, I want to say that there were 4 stations that were 2 sets of 2 cooking areas. So, the chefs would have their backs to each other and depending where you were seated, you could see the show at the other tables. They do stagger when the stations cook so that everyone isn't being seated or leaving at the same time. I don't think that the chefs on the ships have as much leeway as far as the show that they can put on as compared to an on-land restaurant due to the fact that they have to take into account potential rocking of the ship. One person in our group had never been to this type of restaurant before and was blown away. Flip
