Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Geez. Our travel partners had a scheduling conflict so we decided to pass on this trip. We are going to head to South America & Antarctica early next year but still need to plan a cruise between now and then.
  2. There is limited information provided but we found it more useful to watch a YouTube video on the models
  3. Did you book the snorkeling trip in Grenada? Our travel partners did and had similar comments.
  4. oh thanks I didn't know that. I will edit my post!
  5. Hello! I am attempting to complete my cruise ship model collection on past sailings and am looking for help from CC members who are sailing on the following vessels in the near future: Voyager, Enchantment, Grandeur and Adventure of the Seas. If you would be willing to assist me, I can arrange for payment 😊. Thank you so much for your help!!
  6. Disembarkation review: We completed the Disembarkation paperwork and requested latest time (9:30 am), as we had a late afternoon flight and would rather spend more time on the ship than the airport. The ship requested that all passengers exit their suites by 8 am. Breakfast was scheduled in the Fil-a-Rouge and Emporium until 9 am. We elected to await our Disembarkation in the Emporium. Surprisingly, they kept the food service open until at least 9:45. Before closing down, staff asked any remaining passengers if they wanted anything else. When they were satisfied that all passengers were finished, they cleaned up the service area. Our group was called a little after 10 am to proceed to immigration in the Explora lounge...Fast and efficient! Explora hands down the best service we've experienced!
  7. We were on a 10 day Baltic cruise on Splendor in the Summer 2023. Our ship missed three ports due to so-called "weather" issues, even when we saw other cruise ships docked. Presently we are considering a Summer 2024 14 day voyage to Iceland and Greenland. Curious to learn if this is still an ongoing with Splendor missing ports. Definitely want to take this under consideration before booking. Thanks for your responses!
  8. We missed out on the BF sale but will keep this in mind for BF 2024!
  9. Let me provide another positive experience onboard...Today is our final day and we decided to order room service breakfast for the 1st time. The order was delivered at our chosen time and the food and beverage was delicious and hot. As a follow-up, the staff returned to our cabin approximately an hour later to pick up the dishes. Probably the best room service experience on our 40th cruise. Bon Voyage!
  10. Explora staff implied that the reason for the couches in the elevator area is due to the low hanging light fixtures...hmmm, I think this wouldn't affect anyone less than 6'6 or so
  11. Day 8 aboard and only one full day left on our journey. Observations by my travel partners and I... POSITIVES: Crew is EXTREMELY friendly and helpful, probably the best service we've experienced. They have done a wonderful job of hiring crew staff. The ship is beautiful and never felt crowded or cramped. Realize that there are only approximately 620 guests onboard but can't imagine that it would feel crowded even at full capacity. There are always pool loungers and chairs available. We really enjoyed the outside spaces. MISSES: The food selection is not rotated enough and I can't imagine taking a longer cruise than current 9 days. Crepe and Gelato station same variety every day. My husband is allergic to shrimp but ordered lobster in the Emporium Marketplace. He had a really bad allergic reaction which required a trip to the Medical Facility. We later discovered that they cooked the shrimp on the same grill as the lobster so of course he avoided any seafood the rest of the voyage. Not blaming the staff, but please keep this in mind regarding food allergies. We enjoyed a couple of the evening shows, but they need to offer variety (maybe a comedy show 😀) Daily activities and Port information are very limited. These areas definitely need improvement. Ship announcements over loud speaker are ear piercing. I would advise you to come prepared with ear plugs on Day 1. Drink service is hit and miss, but if you find a good bartender, visit often! We decided to book our next Cruise and return to Regent Splendor for Iceland and Greenland in the Summer. Final thoughts: We will give Explora a couple of years to mature and maybe visit again in 2026.
  12. Agreed..we haven't seen anyone doing video tours (influencers) but really wouldn't know who may be a travel agent. We always plan our next cruise while at sea and looks like we may be returning to Regent Splendor in June to visit Iceland.
  13. Day 2 Experience: We ate all three meals in the Emporium Marketplace and rate them excellent. Banana pancakes, eggs florentine, fresh smoothie and fresh squeezed juices for breakfast. For lunch I had made to order salad and homemade ravioli. Dinner included fresh lobster and oysters along with jasmine rice. Entertainment was a Billy Joel tribute in the Journey lounge which we enjoyed. We opted not to leave the ship for Saint Lucia and spent the day reading around the pool and playing table games with friends. The suite is particularly quiet and lovely to sleep in.
