Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. We were in a sphere cabana mini suite on deck 12 and not in one on deck 9 which has the cabana area adjacent to them. We met a couple who were in one and I was commenting on their experience that they shared with us--that they liked it and felt like they had a private hot tub and area much to themselves for the most part. I couldn't get out on deck 9 to see the cabana area myself because that area was restricted only to deck 9 mini cabana suite guests.
  2. No it didn't feel darker at all. There was a lot of natural light still. We also liked the fact that the cabana was a buffer for wind noise from the balcony. Here is a picture with the accordion door open to the balcony to provide one large open space.
  3. Wine Tour Amalfi Coast: This tour was amazing and we got to see so much and experience great Amalfi hospitality! This was the highlight of our cruise to the Mediterranean! Our Driver and host Danielle was first class and caring in every way. Having grown up in Amalfi he knew so much and shared so many wonderful facts and knew all the right places to take us. He picked us up right at the port of Naples and we saw Sorrento, Positano, Ravello and of course beautiful Amalfi. He is a very skilled driver and navigated the coastal roads with ease for us. We finished this glorious day at a small Winery in Tremonti where we had an incredible meal and experienced the authentic Italian hospitality of the owners of the winery. We loved the wine and small intimate setting! We cannot say enough about our day trip with Danielle and all the wonderful people we met on this personalized and private tour! We created memories that will forever warm our hearts and put a smile on our faces! Our tour was about 8 hours but they will customize the tour for you. https://www.winetouramalficoast.com
  4. I agree that when Park19 is in full swing that it might be distracting but the photo from previous post is the bar and entry area of chairs that aren't padded. The photos I show are beyond the entry and there is a bit of a buffer from the Park 19 area with the white metal shading and space away from the entry on deck 18 aft.t. Not ideal but there is a degree of separation from the play deck above and the main pool and cabana area of the Sanctuary. Hope this helps.
  5. We were on the 3/19 Sun Princess and were in a Cabana Mini Suite on the Sphere deck 12. Specifically 12422. We loved this stateroom. The cabana area is a great buffer between your room and the balcony and there is an accordion door between the cabana area and the balcony so you can open it up to one contiguous space. The balcony on the Sphere was larger than others so we loved that as well. The cabana was a great place to hang out and eat room service and feel like you were not in your room if you didn't want to be on the balcony. We would book this category again for sure. There are also 2 televisions in this stateroom - one in the bedroom and one in the cabana which was nice, even though we didn't watch them much - was a nice separation. We met some people who were in the reserve cabana mini suites on deck 9- which have sparked conversation. They said that they loved it and felt like their own little sanctuary - despite others that are shared the same cabana area. I can confirm that those deck 9 cabanas cannot be accessed by others, even those like us in cabana mini suites on other floors. That deck 9 cabana area is reserved only for those on that cabana deck in those mini suites. Hope this information is helpful.
  6. Sorry for the delayed response. No, we were not in a full suite but a cabana mini suite. Yes, the higher suite guests were able to enjoy the entire Sanctuary and there were beautiful floor to ceiling aft elevators you could access from the Sanctuary all the way down to deck 8 aft. The staff and service were amazing and worth the extra price for us. We loved being able to get away from the crowds as well.
  7. We were on the Sun Princess last week and spent 3 days in the Sanctuary. It was our favorite place on the ship! Marc was the manager and his team delivered the best service and were a highlight of the trip. The cost for non- suite guests was 99 per person for sea days and 79 per person for port days. most of the chairs are Padded and there are two locations other than the cabanas for shade. The food and drinks were great and it was seldom very crowded. Suite guests have an area dedicated to them at the very aft of the sanctuary. Most all sanctuary staff were hand picked from other ships. Everyone went out of their way to deliver a true first class and memorable experience to all of the guests. Just wanted to share our experience in case it is helpful. 😊
  8. Look back on page 127 of this thread.
  9. Any updates on the flooding on deck 10 and 11? Is this under control or do they know cause?
  10. We are on the Mar 19th (ten night) sailing and our itinerary looks the same for now on our app. Did anything change on yours for first 10 nights?
