  1. Thank you Rich, Sandi, Eva, Debbie, Dixie, and Ann. Buttons, Zippers, and Velcro all have both their strengths and weaknesses. I have not been to Probolinggo. I have too many lost socks and will pass on the Moscato. Thank you to the code breakers. Amazing how quickly the world cruise has gone. While a nerd I have never been a boss. I'll pass on the meal. My alternative is Bahamian Spiced Chicken with Yogurt-Cilantro Sauce and Wild Berry Profiteroles, my Nieuw Statendam embarkation lunch in 2019: What a change in Ivan. I think the vet will have a much easier job the next time they meet. Roy
  2. OK the webcam timed out on me so I'll call it a day. Thanks Leanne, Lou @ Dave, and fellow addicts. Roy
  3. I didn't take it. All I did was change @scubacruiserx2;s http to https in the link. Rouy
  4. I almost forgot. I assume we are looking at Eurodam, but hope we eventually see Koningsdam. Roy
  5. Today's sunrise is from a 2019 combination, Nieuw Statendam Fort Lauderdale to Amsterdam, and then Cunard QE/QM2 Kiel to New York. May 8 was a free day in Kiel before boarding Queen Victoria on May 9. Roy

  7. Happy Monday and Happy Heavenly Birthday President Truman. Thank you Rich, Sandi, Eva, Debbie, Dixie, and Ann. Irises are beautiful and we all deserve to reward ourselves. The Seneca quote is so true. I have never been to Martinique. We do have a great day in history. I think I'll pass on the chili. I have never been on a BHB between the dates of May 6 and May 14 so I'm winging it a bit. Today's alternative is Fruit Salad with Yogurt and Honey, Orange and Radiccio Salad and Beechers Macaroni and Cheese which would have been my choices 4/22/14 if I had not been in Canaletto that day. Roy
  8. Thank you. I learned some time ago that Sabine had left HAL but not the rest of the story.. I think river pilot sounds like a fantastic career. Roy
  9. I can. I think Cruise Critic only allows links that start with httpS to bring up photos. Interesting, when I copied and pasted the link, it came up with https like this one: Roy
  10. Today is also National Fallen Heroes Day. One of Maryland's honorees this year is Lt. Brad Scot, a career firefighter from my county who was felled by work related cancer, https://www.firehero.org/fallen-firefighter/brad-a-scott/ Roy
  11. I have a sunset today rather than a sunrise. It's from my 2017 Crystal Symphony voyage from San Diego to New York. On May 7 we visited San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua. Roy

  13. Thank you Rich, Sandi, Eva, Debbie, Dixie, and Ann. I hope Father David's pilgrimage is going well. Welcome do dry land Vanessa. I'll pass on the home brew but celebrate tourism and laughter. Been to Portland once on the Elegant Explorer. Where would we be today without the integrated circuit. Funny quote by Seinfeld. I'll pass on the shrimp. My alternative is a Toasted ham and cheese, similar to what's served on Nieuw Statendam's Dutch cafe but this is dinner from an Amsterdam restaurant after disembarking: Roy
  14. I have no sunrise for May 6 so this is May 7. It is from 2015 on a Crystal Serenity transatlantic from Miami to Lisbon. That morning Serenity arrived in Bermuda. Roy

  16. I'm trying to remember my last coronation but it is now quite fuzzy. I was about 10 at the time. I felt a bit like I watched it on TV but it was not yet televised live and we did not yet have a TV. According to Wikipedia films were rushed to Canada by jet and regular planes to the US and one network picked up the signal from a Toronto station and rebroadcast but I likely "saw" it on the radio. Roy
  17. Happy Coronation Day. Thank you Rich, Sandy, Eva, Debbie, Dixie, and Ann. I can't believe it's almost 9. An interesting quote and collection of days. I have not been to Moreton Island. I would enjoy the meal of the day but would prefer baked and will not make it. The Mac & Cheese from Panera was my dinner after my visit with the dentist. My alternative menu suggestion is Apple and Bacon Pannenkoek my lunch in Amsterdam after disembarking MS Nieuw Statendam. Roy
  18. One of my morning shows today had a feature on Wallis Simpson, a native of Baltimore. If King Edward's marriage had not led to his abdication and succession by King George VI, neither Elizabeth nor Charles III would have ascended to the throne and there would not have been a coronation. It seems everything has a connection to Baltimore. Roy
  19. Today's sunrise is from my 2019 Nieuw Statendam transatlantic. On May 5 I disembarked in Amsterdam: Roy

  21. Happy Friday Cinco De Mayo. Thank you Rich, Sandi, Eva, Debbie, Dixie, and Ann. I think the Spielberg quote is spot on. Cartoonists make us laugh and make us think. I have not been to Carnegie but would love to. I have no desire to go to space but am thankful for those who do. I think Hoagies and Submarines are exactly the same but maybe @dfish can shed some light on it. I've been to Rio several times. I've done one full grand voyage (Prinsendam Grand South America, (2019) and feel for Rich as he tackles packing. I'll pass on both the Hoagie and the Salmon. My alternative is a freshly made lido omelet which I enjoyed on my final morning on Nieuw Statendam May 5, 2019, my usual choice is ham and bacon (photo is from Eurodam last year): Friday is my day for Wegmans and Panera breakfast so I'll be leaving soon. I think the forecast high is 20/68 which sounds warmer than Atlanta. Go figure. Roy
  22. The ferry dock is just a tie up point with a ramp leading directly into the back of the ferry. The cruise terminal is close to a mile north of the ferry, right in the center of town. I did see some photos from people on the Koningsdam, and it isn't as much of a climb as I remembered from many years ago. I think I've figured out the layout here: Roy
