  1. Actually, there should not be an issue, I just tried a dry run for Quantum OTS August 15 on the App on my IPAD. The receipt showed up in my email which can be printed as from any regular email on your computer. Roy
  2. That's strange. I ran into the same issue with online access to the Fire Department Investment firm access. Blocked by the Station antivirus but fine from my home computers with both McAffee and Norton. As long as you keep up to date on the App you should be fine that way. You should bet a code with the app that you can show if needed to board. I think though that Royal will know that you're cleared as they check clearance with the Canadian authorities before you board. Roy
  3. Today's sunrise is from my 2018 Grand Alaska/Panama trip. August 12 was a sea day on the Crystal Symphony between San Francisco and Puerto Caldera: Roy

  5. Happy Birthday and thank you for the TGIF report Rich. I haven't had Kool Aid in many years, and not a big fan of the meteor shower. I used to have a big collection of Vinyl records but the turntable died years ago. They have made a great comeback. I remember disembarking my first Prinsendam cruise at Edinburgh in 2011, 11 years ago tomorrow. I love the Dietrich quote but will pass on the sushi. My alternative is Chilled Red Grape and Cranberry Soup with Orange-Ginger Pork, my last dinner of my first cruise on the Elegant Explorer. 6. Have a wonderful cruise and congratulations on that anniversary. If you get a chance can you post the latest status of Sabine. Thanks. Roy
  7. All I know is what I see from people who are on the Koningsdam. Roy
  8. @smitty34877 prayers for recovery for Tana and strength and help for you. @ger_77 , prayers for DS and that DH (and you) do not get Covid. Roy
  9. @RedneckBob I did not put you on the care list, assuming that other people, including utilities and possibly insurance were responsible for paying for all the damages from the incident. I hope I was not mistaken. Roy

  12. Interesting collection of days, I haven't spent a lot of time in the sand in years. A special salute to Sons and Daughters. Thought provoking statement by Lewis. Sydney is definitely an interesting port. Looks like Zaandam is not that far away today. I like the meal. My alternative is Poached Orange and Grapes, Chilled Sour Cherry Soup, and Chicken with Dried Cranberries and Orange Relish as served on MS Prinsendam August 11, 2011. 13. Thank you for the not quite Friday, Rich. Is that supposed to be Play in the sand? Roy
  14. Today my TA (well effectively me) made the final payment on my November Eurodam cruise. One step closer to a BHB, Roy
  15. I highly recommend the online version of ArriveCan over the app. You will need to do it even if you do not get off the ship. I will also suggest that you start now so you have less to do when the time comes. Start by creating your account. If you do the online version start here: https://arrivecan.cbsa-asfc.cloud-nuage.canada.ca/en/auth I'm pretty sure you will need to upload your vaccination status as one of the first steps. Your final submission will be based not on the date you enter Canada but the day you board the ship. It looks like you can start the trip submission 4 days before you board the ship. Select: Reason for entry: Discretionary Method of entry: Marine Port of Entry Ogden Port Pier A&B or Saint John Marine Terminal I think the rest SHOULD be fairly easy. Roy
  16. I did not visit multiple Canadian ports either on Adventure of the Seas or Queen Mary 2. I am pretty sure though if you did it would be just one ArriveCan and it would be for the first Canadian port. What is your itinerary? Roy
  17. I had mentioned that I had been to Buenos Aires several times and that it was the gateway to Iguazu falls. In 2017 I did one of my craziest combinations sailing Crystal Serenity Buenos Aires to Rio, flying back to BA (my only time ever on Emirates), and then 5 days later boarded Zaandam to San Diego. In 2016 I had sailed Crystal Symphony Buenos Aires to Miami, and for the segment from Valparaizo to Miami I met a lady who did not fly. She had sailed QM2 New York to Rio, toured South America and returned on Symphony, and she described the bus system to me. The buses in Brazil have luxury sections that are very much like business class on airplanes including flat beds and onboard meals. I was interested and found a tour from Buenos Aires to Iguazu using the buses and it was a good fit for my time between Serenity and Zaandam. I boarded the bus: in the evening (the sleeping seats were on the top deck) and when the time came the seat became a bed: We arrived in Iguazu the next day and toured the Brazilian side of the falls the following day: Roy
  18. Probably the best way would be to start with the thread I did at the time. I go over the logistics a bit in the first post, and somewhere along the way post photos from the Kennicott and talk a bit about life on board. I'm not sure about the protocols right now but do know that for a time during Covid passengers were not allowed to get off at the midway ports. Probably the best place for any followup questions is here on the Daily/Fleet report.
  19. Reported to be the Ore dock: https://secureservercdn.net/198.71.233.189/2xl.54d.myftpupload.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/SKG-Skagway-2022-2.pdf Roy
  20. My understanding is that it is not even the full railroad dock. I think it is just one of 2 berths there and a berth HAL rarely if ever uses. Roy
  21. Today's sunrise is from my 2016 Northwest Passage trip, using the Alaska ferry Kennicott to get to the start of the cruise. On August 16 the Kenicott visited Yukatat. Roy

  23. Thank you for the Hump Day report, Rich. Not really a fan of S'mores. Lions are Majestic but I really like Lazy Day. Great wisdom from Tolstoy. Buenos Aires is a great port that I have enjoyed from both Crystal ships, Zaandam, and Prinsendam, usually as an embarkation port but as a port of call on Prinsendam. It is also the gateway to Iguazu Falls. Since I don't eat seafood I'll pass on the bass. Not sure what the pocket part is all about. My alternative is Fresh Fruit Medley, Grandma's Chicken Noodle Soup, and Spaghetti Puttanesca as served on MS Prinsendam August 10, 2011.
