  1. Offer to trade your $5 bills for any $2 bills that they or their friends have difficulty using
  2. At the operational level, an 8 isn't a failure, yet when it comes time to move crew members over to the Xcel for a possible promotion, they're probably going to pull from the ship whose team always gets 10s and not the one who gets 8s
  3. Hindsight is a beautiful thing, I wish I asked “Who’s the current CEO of Celebrity cruises?” Although I doubt they would’ve replied to it
  4. I do agree with the premise, it would be a huge con if they got rid of either tomorrow. Yet you have to give them credit for keeping the eMuster going, they didn't have to. They had the buffet staff served but that went back to self-serve. Starlink is more of a gray area as you only get the benefit if you pay for it (Zeniths paid for it by gaining 3000+ CC points) If we want to get specific and say improvements/additions to the complimentary food that wasn't a cutback reversal, there's NONE. AQ lost their daily treats, X says it's because no one eating them; why not make them better (rhetorical)? X introduced the paid cookie and suffered massive backlash which could have been avoided if they said "Due to the feedback we have decided to PILOT the cookie as a free offering on the Equinox (only ship it was offered) for the next month". But no, they just removed them
  5. I appreciate they offer lifetime status. At they end of the day, they offer it because their competitors do. Perhaps one day they'll change to a requalify model but you'd imagine that would be for NEW cruisers only
  6. If it doesn't cost them any money, why not offer free laundry, CaB coffee, and 5-7 happy hours to everyone for free? Like many things, this has been discussed in length before. The short version is that many will book the sail-only rate without the drink package and rely on the elite breakfast and elite happy hour for their drink For me personally, On X, I have never paid for pressing, laundry, or coffee and usually get my drinks from the casino yet may have purchased a drink or two per sailing. Once I became Elite, I started doing laundry, pressing, the elite happy hour, and coffee during the elite breakfast on every sailing including a 4-nighter. Once Elite Plus, I have 1-2 coffees daily and do the second bag of laundry (if needed)
  7. Thank you for providing real-world data points. Have you heard many complaints of any kind?
  8. Last set of questions on this (I hope, lol). It doesn't appear to be online anywhere, I would imagine if you are Zenith and book online or through a TA, the perk rebate is not "given" to you, you have to know about it and have to call and ask for it, correct? If you were to book on the phone and didn't know about the rebate, would the rep even bring it up or do you need to ask for it?
  9. They are calling wi-fi and drinks "amenities" and not perks...They're going to continue to confuse those who win MoveUp bids into suites
  10. Let's refer to it as a "Zenith perk rebate" when sailing in a suite; you're fairly certain this didn't exist pre-pandemic? Is this in writing online anywhere? I guess this counts as a benefit assuming it wasn't offered pre-pandemic but I don't want to open the floodgates for pricing structure. During the pandemic, they released AI without a sail-only option for a typical cruiser in the US (excluding things like casino-comped rooms). Then they opened up sail-only for all rooms including suites then they got rid of all sail-only rates once someone complained they couldn't get a free drink in the retreat lounge. Then allowed sail-only rates again up to AQ. Yet all of that was the US sites, there was the loophole that if you booked from a Canada TA site like Expedia, you could still get the sail-only rate
  11. Updated list of passenger-friendly additions/updates that were not cutback reversals since the restart: -Starlink -eMuster -Elite happy hour on the first day -CC points via PUP points -CC status match can match to higher RCI tiers
  12. Was on the Summit sailing in August which was the first time they replaced the metal water bottles with plastic, I overheard a few people touting the green benefits of the metal bottles, but they still accepted and drank from the plastic water bottles...lol
  13. It's safe to say this so-called "zenith discount" does not qualify as a new passenger-friendly benefit
  14. Just an opinion piece, the cons state safety without specifics other than a fire risk in the uncommon event someone decides to move a ceiling panel It does not get into the fact that they're probably made by children in 3rd world countries and that most of them get tossed in the trash. If you're into duck hunts and care about being green, the best thing you can do is not buy anyone more, but rather reuse the ones you found
  15. So before the pandemic, if you were Zenith, you did not receive free drinks or wifi? I'm not even going to get into what qualifies as a discount until that's answered...lol
  16. 1) MAYBE? Are Zenith's actually savings on "discounted suite pricing" or is it like one of X's many "sales"? 2) NO, could do so before the restart...Ordering MDR items from Blu is NOT new, in fact, in the spring of 2022, Equinox's Blu blocked all MDR orders. Fall in 2022, Solstice's Blu only allowed MDR classics 3) NO, could do so before the restart
  17. I don't think there's any possible answer to give those who were insulted unless it was accompanied by an action
  18. Do they still say "We have the best photographers in the world"?
  19. It seems like folks thought her answers would be accompanied by actions...Why someone would think that is beyond me based on their past track record... Since the restart, actual passenger-friendly changes NOT cutback-reversals, we have 3 off the top of my head: 1) Starlink 2) E-muster (they could save on labor by going back to the old way) 3) Elite Happy Hour now included on the day of embarkation Can anyone think of anyone else, who has anything with food improved that wasn't a cutback reversal?
  20. I do see women bring a huge tote to the pool loungers and always wonder why. Towels can be grabbed without checking them out. I personally use a card case for my phone, only need to carry one thing around. I knew a bunch of Genting Crystal (parent company went BK) higher-ups, since 2015 I've been pushing to let us order from the MDR from our phones and was told to implement that fleet-wide it would be $10M+, licensing fees and they'd need a team of IT folks per ship in case something goes wrong. They then proudly commented that they pay "next to nothing" for labor
  21. The one's you posted have annoyingly BRIGHT LEDs as Uber drivers often buy them to offer their passengers to charge their phone; hard to see them at night I bought this one because it had NO lights and also charges the apple watch
  22. The published policy is that suite guests can dine in Blu on a space-available basis. Luminae's menu doesn't change which is offputting for some
  23. If you're a new cruiser, I'd recommend NOT visiting the casino for the first few days. Rather explore the ship and meet people
