  1. Thanks! I am curious though,,,what do mean by too many empty spaces in their parking garage? Are you saying they charge too much and that is why it has all that empty space? We pay $15 a day here in Balto and in NY we pay $35 a day. Sure it HURTS and the cost is crazy but we like getting off and just getting in our vehicle and driving away.

I appreciate your answer. That gives me the answer we hoped for. Thanks again.

  2. HELP. I must be really confused. We are driving down also in several weeks and planned to park at the port,,,,never have before. We are coming from MD.

When you park at the port do you need to take a shuttle??? Is the any problems with security (with the vehicles) there?

We part at our port in MD and it is right at the ship, we drive in, drop off luggage, park and walk a couple hundred feet to the bldg. Cars are secured, well lit and never any problems. THANKS

  3. We booked a trip on the Liberty for Nov a short time ago. About a week later I went in and did a mock booking to see if there were any price drops and to my surprise there was our cabin (along with only 1 other) available on our deck in midship. After I picked myself up off the floor I called Carnival. They told me that we had cancelled our trip. I assured them we did not! Long story short when I booked the trip over the phone directly with Carnival they did not charge us the correct down payment. She put $500 on our credit card instead of $600. Well since we have sailed Carnival many years and $500 was still their requirement just back in May when we sailed I never gave it a second thought. After all she told me what needed to go down and when final payment was due.

After an hour on the phone they tell me that their system automatically cancelled our trip two days later due to improper down payment. (If that was so you would think they would notify you by email, call or something.) I told him the person I spoke with along with the date and time and assured him that this was her error not ours!!!! I asked him could they just rebook us in that same room since it was still available. He said no since the price had gone up. I told him that I just did a mock booking and the price was the same. He then comes back after being put on hold for like the fourth time and tells me I can get the room but would need to pay more. I said NO. This was not our error. AGAIN ON HOLD. Finally they were able to reopen our booking and all is well.

Fortunately it ended well and we still have the room we chose and are once again BOOKED.

  4. Sailing from PC in November. Last time we sailed from there was years ago and we flew in and did the transfers thing.

This time we are driving down. We plan on parking at the port. Found their website and had trouble with it.

Do you need to reserve youur parking (that is what I took from looking at their site) or do you just show up like we do in NY and Balto ports when we drive? Anyone know the cost. I read somewhere they charge you by day and not night,,,,meaning I guess our 8 night cruise we will be paying for 9 days. That is fine. It's just if we have to reserve a spot I want to do that plenty early. Thanks for your help.

  5. We sailed 4/27/14 and when we went to the rm for Platinum it was full so we went right over to the regular check in stations and they brought someone right away to check us in and we were through before the people who were already in that little room checking in. However, the seating area has been moved since the last time we were there. It was much tighter seating and pretty fully packed with FTTF people. Preferred how the previous seating area was.

  6. Just returned 1 1/2 weeks ago. I agree with the Steak House, but at least try their little cooking demonstration. It was the 1st or 2nd sea day. We tried it after many trips and it was fun to watch them cook and learn a few things,,,plus free tastings of what they prepare during the demo.

Starry Night lounge was really good,,,both groups that played in there were terrific.

Comedy was outstanding. If you see any shows see Vroom and I believe the other was Around the World. Both really good.

We did the Behind The Scenes tour on the Glory so as a first time cruiser you may enjoy that! Worth the $95 to do it. You only need to do it once no matter what ship you try it on.

Didn't go to the Piano Bar but heard people saying the guy in there is really good!!!

  7. We just got off the Pride a week ago. We booked an obstructed balcony and was even careful to book between two life boats as we have done in 4k cabins. When we got to the room we realized that we booked near the first 3 life boats and they were much larger then we anticipated.

We went to guest services right away and was told "maybe" but we had to wait until after we sailed. We never touched or unpacked a thing. Went and enjoyed the afternoon, had dinner and returned to guest services. To our delight we were changed to another cabin with an unobstructed view!!! When we told them just to add the difference to our sail and sign (or we could pay right then) they said "NO CHARGE". Well that was music to our ears. Cabin was wonderful. We would not have been to disappointed had we not gotten to change because we were the ones who screwed up. (They even brought a large cart and put all our luggage and carryon's on it and said "follow me" and away we went)

  8. CD was Josh. Kirk was on vacation.

Freeport we just walked around right in the area off the ship.

Around the World and Vroom are always worth seeing. They also had a lady that sung and entertained,,,she was good.

    Comedians were excellent.

The cheese on the pizza was as white as when he laid the chunks on there. Just barely melted. Only the first night was it actually cooked and good. Also a bit too much sauce and they don't get what "just a little sauce please" is.

  9. Just off the Pride yesterday. Had a good trip. Weather was great, smoothest sailing I have ever experienced on the Pride and all in all very happy.

Food was good. Did not enjoy the pizza at all. Glory has the same pizza but it was much better. Casino seemed to pay out the most I've ever seen. Shows were as always good,,,,much better then our last cruise on the Glory. Comedy was good.

Not a fan of the cruise director or the assistant. Of course that is personal preference as we are all different.

We booked 5150 and did not like it. Our fault. I knew it was obstructed but forgot that the first 3 life boats were much larger. We were directly between two which we chose the the size of the boats was awful. We did not unpack and after we sailed we went to Guess Services and they were kind enough to relocate us to a non-obstructed balcony in 5225 and we loved the room.

We normally board 12ish everytime we have gone on the trip. We didn't board til 1:30pm. However our return was as it has always been when we have sailed the Pride. Hit the bay bridge at 6am, key bridge 7am and not to much longer docked. We checked our luggage due to my husbands knee. Bringing all our luggage down that ramp exiting the ship is a bit too much for him. We were in our car by 10 (we are platinum). Home shortly after as we only live in Middle River.

All is all good trip. Husband won Texas Holdem tournament $500 and came in 2nd on the slot tournament. We both did well in the casino and came home a little ahead.

  10. Haven't received our email regarding boarding this Sunday,,,but as usual we will leave he house about 10:30am and get to the parking lot about 11am. Only had to wait outside the lot for a short period of time on our last Pride trip. :o

  11. Hi there. I remember a poster stating they would be in 5150 on 4/6 sailing. We are in that cabin Sunday. How was it? How is the view since it is obstructed? This will be our first time without an extended balcony and also one that is obstructed. THANKS;)

If you have a balcony pic from your trip,,,,we sure would appreciate it.

  12. Has anyone stayed on deck five in an obstructed view (with life boats) on Pride. We usually book a 4k (love 4123) or extended balcony on deck 7. Getting ready to book for 4/27 sailing and looks like we will be booking cabin 5150 or there abouts.

The guy at Carnival says I would have to stand on my tip toes to see over life boat and would not be able to see anything when sitting down. I had always heard you can see straight out (no matter my height) but you could not look straight down.

    Thanks

  13. We always book through Carnival, just easier. I used to not pay my insurance until the day I paid my final payment. Reason being, if you cancelled (this was many years ago) you lost your insurance cost but not any other $$.

Now I just pay it along with down payment and if you need to cancel you get that back also. We had to cancel our Jan 2014 cruise a few weeks back, prior to final payment, and got down payment and insurance $$$ back.

I would check with them though. Not sure if it matters which way you book.

  14. I am not quite sure. I know I have seen local buses pull up to th ship that run to different places.

We do Cocoa Beach everytime we go there. We just purchase the wristband at the excursions desk and that way we can go to the beach or the village with that wristband. They drop you off close to the beach and Ron Jon's. You just have a 2min walk to the beach. I think the buses run on the 1/2 or hr back to the ship and to the village (just keep the wristband, that is your ticket back). Hope this helps a little

  15. Turn on WJZ-TV (we have comcast so it is channel 23 or 212). This is one of our local news stations. You can see the ship when they show the harbor area. Also WBAL-tv (21 or 211) which comes on earlier than wjz sometimes shows a shot where you can see the ship or see it coming in.

Be patient. Sometimes it takes a few commercials before they show that shot and sometimes in the very beginning (8am for wjz) but we watch it every week on WJZ-tv.
