  1. FYI, Crystal has a brand-new 200 passenger expedition ship that will be used for Antarctica in the 2021 season. There will be helicopters and submarines. It will approach from either Christchurch or Hobart, and visit the Ross side of Antarctica. This would mean much less time on an airplane for us, so this option is under consideration.

  3. Such data is hard to come by. For example, after initiating my credit card dispute, the dispute amount was subtracted from my outstanding balance. That will remain until Seabourn either contests or relents. I won't really know the final outcome of that process for some time, and it will come in the form of a letter from my card company. So, is my refund due to the dispute (what is the date of that?) or from Seabourn (date as well). To really hash this out would take more cells on your spreadsheet, which I am not necessarily suggesting. The refund of your airline and FCDs is great, and may be a testimonial to your social media (Cruise Critic) presence. Well done and well deserved.
  4. We had a wonderful stay at the Danieli. See Venice before the rising sea level makes that impossible.
  5. Rome: Cavalieri Waldorf Astoria. On one of the hills just outside the center city, a quick taxi ride to anything. La Pergola is a 3-star Michelin. If you go and can afford it, stay in the area of the hotel with the private lounge. Amsterdam: Really a long time since I was there, but we enjoyed the Hilton, adjacent to a park. It has a nice top floor lounge. Can't say how it is now.
  6. Wonderful aspirational letter you wrote on SB's behalf. You are quite right about timely and accurate communication with customers. That is what allowed me to stay in business for nearly 40 years. What happened with SB and you before you wrote your letter?
  7. Not Paulchili, but I am familiar with Seabourn FCC. When they expire after four years, one gets a full refund. That is, if Seabourn is not bankrupt.
  8. Linda, United has waived mileage ticket change fees, at least through December. FYI, I've sent you a couple of emails that were bounced back as undeliverable.
  9. Post of the Day! On another matter, based upon some of the recent posts, last night I sent an email to Seabourn, requesting a status update. I just received from them a detailed listing of my deposit charges (along with amounts per cc) and a personalized response saying that I should receive my refund in 10-14 days. Not sure that this level of detail is because I submitted a CC dispute, but it was nice to see that someone actually looked into my account. 🙂

  14. Can you provide some information that might help the rest of us: Did you get the refund directly from Seabourn or from your credit card? What is your status level with SB? Do you have any theory to explain why you got your refund so quickly? Thanks!
