Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. We just got back from a stop in Gibraltar. There is a £3 Shuttle/Taxi van that will take you from the port to Casemate square. They will not take you to the cable car. We did that and walked from the square the the bottom of the cable car. It was about 20 minutes. We were one of the 1st off the ship and walked quickly to the cable car. There wasn't a line and we had prepaid for our tickets. That is the only thing we did that went as planned. Unfortunately after about 20 minutes at the top it started to rain. We were prepared and didn't mind at first as we walked to St. Michaels Cave from the cable car area but the weather just kept getting worse. We heard the signage is not great and everyone was correct. Confusing, hard to see some of them and some areas non at all! Luckily we had a map and also GPS. If you walk you have to know where you are going. We walked a great deal in the pouring rain to get to the WWII tunnels and they were closed for the day. We didn't see a single sign that indicated that. I'm sure the taxi drivers knew that. We were ready to get a nice hike in and see all the places we wanted to see at our own speed. Even with perfect weather, I feel like we would have gotten to see a lot more with a taxi tour. I would suggest getting off the ship and grabbing one of tours. The Apes are everywhere so you will see them no matter where you go. St. Michaels cave was amazing! I would definitely do that again!
  2. I accidentally hit Alaska time zone when I was in Puerto Rico. Luckily it was just 4 hours different. I took the test based on the time in Alaska. You should be fine selecting your time zone.
  3. We just used these in early April with no problem. They didn't ask to see the unopened box, only the unopened supplies inside. My husband and I used 1 box, both tests, for ours.

  6. We didn't have any problems with RCCL and Ihealth. You can show them the QR code on your phone. Printing it was much easier than fumbling around on a phone. Luckily we could do that at the hotel. I think we had to show it 4 times going through several lines to get on the ship. (it was the easiest and fastest we've ever boarded) We only had one computer as well. You will have to make 3 separate appointments. That is the only drawback to Ihealth. Abbott tests you just connect when you are ready. They say 45 minutes per test but I would say 30 is plenty of time. You can check the availability of time slots on their website without setting up an appointment. They are every 15 minutes. You can try and connect early so you don't have to wait around for 2 hours. It worked for us once we received the email with the link. I'm pretty sure that was 45 minutes prior to appointment time. You can also change and cancel your appointments as well if something comes up and you need a different time.
  7. We recently used the IHeath in Puerto Rico with no problems. It was very similar to the Abbott test we used last year. Since the test itself was free, we went ahead and purchased the proctored portion and gave it a try instead of purchasing the Abbott to save some money. We weren't sure of our daily schedule so I waited until the night before to schedule the test. I had been watching the available time slots and there seemed to be plenty until I went to schedule. There were only a few spots left for the day. I probably should have booked a few days earlier. My husband went first and waited maybe 5 minutes for someone to connect. He waited until his schedule time to connect. Once I received my email(I think it was 45 minutes prior to appt) I went ahead and connected and was taken immediately. I have no idea if that was a coincidence or not. I'm glad I tried early. We received the email and printed off the results at the hotel. Easy process!
