  1. Here's Celebrity's Special Needs form. It includes dietary restrictions requests but you will have to add the request specifically for low sodium yourself (last paragraph under Other Disabilities). https://www.celebritycruises.com/content/dam/celebrity/pdf/CEL-Special-Needs-Form.pdf And also advise the M'D at the restaurant. PS: Here's another thread on this topic: https://boards.cruisecritic.co.uk/topic/2968745-very-low-sodium-menus/
  2. Is your cruise leaving from Buenos Aires or is it just one of your port stops? And what cruise line because not every cruise line accepts scooter rentals from both Scootaround and Special Needs? Special Needs and Scootaround are the main mobility equipment providers for most major cruise lines and the cruise lines do not necessarily allow other vendors to deliver scooters to their ships. In the meantime, though, from Special Needs at Sea's website, it says they rent scooters in "Ports of Argentina". https://www.specialneedsatsea.com/about-us/our-ports1/ This will probably not be a rental specifically from Special Needs but rather from one of their partners. Post a little more information and people on this board can give you a better response.
  3. We just got off the Freedom on Sept 15 and Playmakers does have pool tables. As well as a shuffle board table, foos ball and skee ball.
  4. This was probably the form that was submitted to Princess: https://www.princess.com/downloads/pdf/faq_answer_legal/Princess-Mobility-Questionnaire.pdf I would contact the Princess Access Dept (contact info on mobility questionnaire) to verify the width of the door to your stateroom (unless that's the department that said the scooter would fit through the door). I don't know what port the scooter will be used at but scooters are usually not allowed on tenders.
  5. If you're bringing the scooter from home and it sounds like you will not be traveling alone, possibly have another person in charge of the rollator. Like @FOPMan said, they make a dandy luggage cart at the airport. (I would not check the rollator at the front counter but instead have it gate checked when you get to your gate, along with the scooter.) No charge to fly the scooter or the rollator (or any other mobility device).
  6. The battery life of scooters depends on numerous factors: going uphill, larger scooter, large person, going fast etc etc. Much like the MPG on your car. The scooter will be fully charged when you pick it up. We drive it all over during the day (although mostly flat surfaces) and the battery has barely budged from fully charged. We plug it in every night. We have rented many times from Scootaround and always receive a Pride Go Go Sport (3wheel) (they call it their transportable scooter). According to Pride Mobility's website for this particular scooter it says its maximum range is 12.75 miles but also that this "Varies with user weight, terrain type, battery amp- hour (AH), battery charge, battery condition and tire condition. This specification can be subject to a variance of (+ or -) 10%." PS Do you have an accessible stateroom? The scooter has to be stored in your stateroom (and be able to fit through the door). And let Princess know you will be bringing a scooter.
  7. You know, if you're not going on an excursion in St Maarten, there is quite a bit to look at right off the ship. Here's a link that might be of interest: https://spintheglobe.net/dir/2019/10/02/cruise-port-of-call-wheelchair-accessibility-review-philipsburg-sint-maarten-st-martin/ PS: We're going to be on the Summit in April (out of Fort Lauderdale), also in an accessible Retreat stateroom.
  8. What cruise line are you going to be on? Are you able to break down the scooter so it would fit in a van (for instance) or do you need a vehicle with a lift? Check with your cruise line's Access Dept and ask about accessible excursions. Some cruise lines have accessible excursions that are not necessarily listed on their shore excursion page. If you are looking at the ship's excursions, they will state whether the excursions are accessible (most are not and the ones that are get booked quickly). My experience is the shore excursion desk on board ships is not very knowledgeable about accessible excursions. So I wouldn't rely on getting much information from them... PS: Not shore excursion related, but have you already contacted your cruise line's Access Dept? They need to know you will have a scooter. Lastly, do you have an accessible stateroom?
  9. I guess I don't know what I'm doing. I could never get Jacks or Better or Double Bonus etc single line poker. But I found another machine I liked (not poker) so it all worked out.
  10. It does. Seems like it should be easier. I'll try it out our next sea day.
  11. I looked at the 6 video poker machines this morning. Some were 3x or 10x play. The others where you could pick your game did not have the typical video poker games. They had Keno, Spin Poker, Ultimate X. No Jacks or Better, Double Bonus etc.
  12. I'll report back on thr video poker machines in the morning. I will do some further snooping.... I would love to find some regular video poker machines.
  13. We're on the Freedom right now. The only video poker machines we saw were 3x and 10x. We haven't seen any of the multi poker game machines. They either removed them or they are hidden somewhere...
  14. OMG so sorry. We're on the Freedom tomorrow out of Fort Lauderdale. I don't know how I got that mixed up with the Harmony. Senior moment 🙄
  15. We're on the Harmony tomorrow! Out of Fort Lauderdale. Our room is on the 10th floor, too. Tomorrow we plan in going to the muster check-in and then to the closest bar. 🍸 Bless your heart for taking care of the feral kitties 😸
  16. https://www.carnival.com/about-carnival/special-needs/wheelchair-users
  17. They have assistance (pushing you in their wheelchair) on embarkation and disembarkation. They have personnel to ensure you get down the ramps at port stops. From Carnival's website: WHEELCHAIR ASSISTANCE Each terminal has a limited supply of wheelchairs used to transport guests on and off the ship, so we are unable to loan you our wheelchairs for the duration of the cruise. If you need wheelchair assistance for boarding the ship, please contact one of our representatives once you arrive at the cruise terminal. Assistance will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. For assistance with debarkation, instructions on where to meet will be provided the last evening of your cruise. Please note, all wheelchairs have a maximum guest weight limit of 325 pounds. For safety reasons, we are unable to provide wheelchair assistance to those who exceed the maximum weight limit and we reserve the right to deny assistance if the weight presents operational or safety concerns. And take a look here for more information. You need to let them know you will have a rollator. https://www.carnival.com/about-carnival/special-needs/wheelchair-users
  18. The two scooter rental companies allowed on Royal's ships are specialneedsatsea.com and Scootaround.com. Check both websites and do a dummy booking to check pricing. They vary. We have rented from both companies many times and they are almost identical. They rent the same scooters. Your scooter will either be at the terminal or waiting for you in your stateroom. The company you rent from will tell you where your scooter can be picked up. Do you have an accessible stateroom? Scooters must be parked inside your stateroom, not outside. Check out Royal's special needs page. You need to tell them you will have a scooter. Come back if you have additional questions. Many, many people on this board have personal experience with renting scooters.
  19. What you might want to do is contact NCL's Access Dept and ask them. accessdeck@ncl.com or 866 584 9756 They should be able to get this information for you.
  20. Take a look here. This is an older thread but as you can see, responders agree on contacting the cruise line directly: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2629017-need-blood-work-during-a-cruise/ You might also want to hop on over to the Disabled Cruise Board and post your question there: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/114-disabled-cruise-travel/
  21. Go to the website of the cruise line you are considering (or to different cruise line websites if you don't know which cruise line). Do a search on "special needs" or something similar. It should take you to that cruise line's special needs or accessibility page. Search through it and you will find contact information for their Access Dept (a phone number plus an email address). You will have to actually contact the cruise line because your request will probably not be addressed with the more common special needs inquiries. If you get stuck locating this information on a cruise line's website, come back here and somebody on this board will be able to find contact information for you.
  22. First of all, what cruise line will you be on? HAL and NCL both do routine blood testing (or at least they did in the past). You will need to contact your cruise line's Special Needs or Access Department and inquire specifically with the cruise line. You will need your doctor's orders. If you require a test they cannot do, you might be able to have it done at a local lab at your port stop(s). If you share more information (like cruise line and your itinerary) people on this board may be able to give you more specific answers. PS: If you haven't decided your cruise line yet, whether they can do routine blood testing might be a factor as to which cruise line you go with.
  23. Also, if your health insurance has an OTC benefit, you can use this benefit to for incontinence supplies. I use this benefit all the time and haven't paid for Depends (or similar) in a long time.
