If you are looking for something different to do in Old Montreal pre or post cruise, there is a new cafe called Paparmane tea House on rue Notre Dame , just down from the basilica that does an amazing high tea.You need reservations, so look it up online and or call ahead.Great food, tea (jealousy….like cream Earl Gray) in an artsy older building in Old Montreal.Just a few blocks from the pier. Also, just saw Aura- the light show in Notre Dame which takes place at 6pm.It is the most impressive show I have seen in a long time. It gives this historic building a whole other perspective. Again, reserve ahead and get there about 20 minutes early- even with tickets. It sells out most nights. Both places are only a few blocks from the pier.

Hello everyone!
is the dining room open for lunch and breakfast on port days on the Volendam?

Just watched “ Maudie” on Netflix about the artist Maud Lewis(like Grandma Moses) who lived in Nova Scotia.Movie had Ethan Hawke and I really enjoyed it.Her painted house is in the Nova Scotia art gallery in Halifax which is within walking distance along the boardwalk from the pier.

Hi! I just received a notice from HAL that extra time should be planned to go to Logan airport due to construction.
We are staying near Government centre post cruise, will this impact us getting from the cruise port to the hotel? How long and/ easy is it to take the T to the airport? It would be the Blue Line I think? What about the Harbor water bus?Can we use Uber from the port to the hotel downtown? Thanks for any help!!!

This was a great read from the Canada Reads library selectionA subtle and moving novel about a young Lebanese woman who flees from war-torn Beirut and finds herself in Montreal Quebec, Canada as a single mother.
2.The Halifax Explosion by John U Bacon ….more up-to-date version with new discoveries about the events. -
Thanks so much for taking the time to answer. Very helpful

Just as a PS, the entire system at Disney went down overnight and no one discovered it until 9am this morning. How is that possible when Disney is world wide.Anyway, they got it up and running by noon.A banner “out of service” on the site would have saved a lot of stress. Those boarding times fill up really quickly.

PC is kinda out of the way. We usually stay down at Disney Springs the day before. Get a little Disney experience without the cost of park entrance. Then drive and drop car rental at PC and take car rental shuttle to the port. Cheaper than a share ride shuttle or transfer for us.
Where do you stay in Disney Springs to see the fireworks?

We also enjoyed Beach Limerz last year. It is a very pretty setting and quiet with shade.
We did the all inclusive and the lunch was great too.The beach is nice and long for a lovely walk too.The beer was better than the rum punch. We would go back again.

Carlisle bay- about 5 minutes from the pier by taxi is lovely water and relatively calm. However, it does get busy at the beach clubs there- but lots to do.
The St Lawrence gap area has some nice beaches, but the best are on the west coast near Holetown.

We had the all inclusive package and the food was really good.It included one free drink as well.We got our passes from Caribbean day pass.

Agree .We had a nice quiet day at the Hilton. Not crowded, food and drinks were good, but surf was a bit high for swimming . Lovely beach and nice chairs with umbrellas .

We are on Regent Navigator and it was wonderful. Food and service were outstanding. Having everything included was amazing. I would stay on the ship, if I could.

We are on Navigator now and you can definitely feel vibration aft in rough seas . Forward has no vibration and is quiet.

I actually found Panama City fascinating. The waterfront had some lovely areas and the Old city and fort had great history and interesting architecture. I also enjoyed the drive as we got to see some of the jungle areas on the way. The best would be a stop at the locks and Panama City.

Hi We will be arriving at LGA on Oct 14 2019 .This is Columbus Day and I know there is a parade in NYC. We are going to the garment district in Manhattan around 9am to our hotel . Will traffic be a problem if we take a taxi at the airport? Should I arrange a private transfer instead?
We were going to take the HOHO bus tours, but now wonder if these will operate as normally if there is the parade? Is there a better alternative? Thanks for any help you can offer. We were also going to take a walking Food tour in Little Italy starting around 4pm and I am hoping this won’t be impacted.??? I would love some advice!!!

There are areas in Cape Town where one should exercise caution, however, the V and A water front area is very touristy, lots of restaurants, shops and generally safe as this type of area usually is almost anywhere in the world. There is an excellent HOHO bus with a stop at the V and A which does several routes. December is a very busy time in s Africa as it is school holidays and summer time.Book the hotel early and any tours. We enjoyed going to Cape of Good Hope- a lovely day trip. But again, go very early as the lineups to get into the national park can be enormous. We left Cape Town at 7am and were glad that we did.The Grace Bay Hotel is also lovely on the V and A waterfront. There is a wonderful MOMA (modern art) in this area as well.Their gift shop is amassing.LOVED S Africa

We did this cruise last year on Oceania and were lucky with very calm seas.our cabin was forward and still no trouble. But you can run into rough seas just about anywhere at any time. Get that mid ship cabin on a low deck.It was a great itinerary.

We have done this tour.No need for hiking boots at all unless you go off into the wilderness by yourself ...and then you may have bigger problems than the shoes you are wearing.Good solid running shoes are fine.
Basse Terre Excursions
in Guadeloupe
Posted
We will be docking in Basse Terre in Feb. I am having a very difficult time trying to find excursions that will pick up and drop off at that terminal. Suggestions? I also read that there is a ferry over to a deserted island from the pier?Is this still true and would it work for cruisers? Is Basseterre a scenic town? We wanted to go to the Botanical gardens if possible or Deschais.
No excursions with the ship available until 90 days prior.
