  1. The Chesapeake Bay Bridge is different from the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. The Bay Bridge connects Annapolis to Western Maryland.
  2. Ships sail under this bridge and the Chesapeake Bay Bridge (note, different from the tunnel at the opening of the bay). This is the bridge that limits the size of cruise ships able to get into the cruise port. When the Port of Baltimore got their fancy new cranes delivered, they closed traffic over this bridge while the cranes passed under.
  3. One Carnival and one Royal Caribbean ship sail out weekly/regularly. There are a few other cruise lines that did/are doing one or two special cruises out of Baltimore, but the cruise terminal is really only big enough for Carnival and Royal.
  4. I live in Baltimore and have cruised on the Pride and Legend many, many times. This is absolutely horrible but also bad for cruises and the Port of Baltimore. The cruise terminal and port are on the harbor side of that bridge, so no ships will be able to come in and out. Many, many jobs and our local economy are going to be affected 😞
  5. Depending on the cost of your cruise, you may get a better rate of return by redeeming your points as a statement credit after final payment.
  6. Just looked it up on my upcoming cruise, it does not.
  7. Carnival cancelled my glitchy cheers. I received the email for 10% off. The result? "Promo Code not Valid" 😂😂
  8. I'm gluten free and know the pain of places combining it with dairy free or sugar free. Usually the gf desserts are pretty good though. Sorry this one was disappointing for you!
  9. I think they'll probably cancel it all anyways, but I bought two because why give them a reason to cancel for only buying one?
  10. Booking and Order Details, scroll down.
  11. You can edit it to show the other persons name.
  12. I'm also in three different groups and wait times to tender back to the boat were 1.5+ hours. Someone posted a video of the line. It just kept going and going and going!
  13. I believe they got rid of this after the pandemic restart.
  14. Permitted in your stateroom https://help.goccl.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4090/~/carnival-cruise-line-prohibited-items%2C-exemptions-and-other-considerations
  15. Glad to hear! I'm sure taking her service animal on a cruise will be similar to any other vacation she's been on. She will hopefully have a blast 🙂
  16. The way you phrased your post makes me wonder if the service dog is an emotional support animal? Carnival has strict rules and your granddaughter will need to show paperwork at the port. I'd hate for her to get there and be turned away. https://www.carnival.com/about-carnival/special-needs/service-dogs I haven't traveled with a service dog, but I've seen them onboard. There's usually a little fake grass area set up somewhere out of the way. Most guests seemed very respectful although I did see some second looks with people trying to confirm they were indeed seeing a dog on board.

  18. The earliest embarkation time I've seen lately is 12pm and it's usually Plats/Diamonds that get those. What's the earliest time available for your cruise? That may determine whether you even make the appointment, assuming you get the earliest check-in time. And it likely isn't a problem to cancel - although I've never cancelled a spa appointment, I've cancelled excursions and the amount just gets refunded to whatever credit card I used.
  19. Another option is to pick a later check-in time, so that you can take it right to the room when you board.
  20. Sometime I think those appointments are to lure back-to-back cruisers into the spa...

  22. Not OP, but it could be that alpha-gal tick disease (the one that makes you allergic to meat if they bite you).
  23. Trying to plan and someone in my party has mobility-type issues. It looks like the tender area is at the other end of the beach from the cabanas and that #1-8 are closest to the bathroom and BBQ lunch. How long/strenuous (hills? relatively flat and paved?) is the walk? I saw something that there might be golf cart transportation to the cabanas? Is there golf cart transportation back? How long/strenuous is the walk from the cabanas to the beach/BBQ lunch?
