  1. Good lord, an 11 month resurrection! Why!!!!!?????? Seriously… why?????
  2. I am thinking Andrew is not going to be that desperate. I am still waiting for word on the FlowRider installation. I am thinking we are going to head his way next year about now. 2 weeks in Ontario sounds delightful!
  3. Options are super powerful, that is how you go broke investing a small amount of money. Or win the lottery. I am way too cautious to play. 😉
  4. I know, how crazy to think I would come here to cruise critic to find out the latest information about what to do if you test positive for covid. Especially, since, the depth of medical information here is off the charts. I mean literally off the charts. 😉 😂 jc
  5. Definitely call. I love MTD and I book it every time, but it does cause problems with the shows since they are scheduled around the regular main times. JC
  6. Laughing with tears is even less what I want to hear from you. I really want to visit Ontario, and K has never been to Montreal, and I keep promising to take her. You are really making my life harder than it needs to be. You know you want the FlowRider, and I know I want you to have a FlowRider. Win Win!!!! My Airstream will look great parked by your pool next summer. Rodrhi is in intense dog training, and he might even be a respectful citizen by then. JC
  7. Laughter is not what I am looking for, Andrew!😉
  8. AC and Solar on the roof, unfortunately, not quite enough room for the FlowRider. Still waiting for Andrew’s unveiling of his personal FlowRider. Hopefully, summer/fall of 2025! jc
  9. Got notified a few weeks ago, for the second time our mule ride and overnight at the Phantom Ranch got cancelled. I can’t seem to catch a break. I am pretty certain, RCI and Carnival are both better at providing a good vacation than the US Government!😆 jc
  10. PS, we head off in the Airstream on 8/15 for 2-1/2 months out west and into Canada, hope the fires end. JC
  11. Yeah, wouldn’t we all pay more to go back to the brilliant post covid moments. Now we pay more for piles of people and limited menus. Back post covid, we were just happy to be on a vacation, and the 60 % occupancy was like a sweet little chocolate on our pillow. Funny how bad some people’s memories are of that time. 🤪 No company is permanent. Nothing is ever without changing. Life goes on and it is always different than our memory. Get out there and live what you have left is my motto. jc
  12. FF, you seem like a really knowledgeable investor to me. What do I know? I am just a dumb economist. I am too lazy to work as hard as you do with this stuff. 🤣 I have spent the last 5 days playing on my boat spending too much money on gas, food, and drink, but having a fabulous time. That is how I spend my time, or playing golf, or traveling, or just about anything that doesn’t resemble work any more! 😉 jc
  13. Thanks, OB. I hope I never actually infer my Net Worth in this forum, if I ever do, please spank me, that is not only inappropriate it is not smart. 🤣 jc
  14. Facts don’t matter to him. He has a hankering and he must scratch that itch. What is Carnival trading at? Which management team did/doing better? Hmm??? We purchased about $5000 of each about 20 to 25 years ago over 100 shares of each. My Shareholder credits have on their own have repaid the initial investment of the RCI a few times over. We have only taken a couple of CCG since, so very little in the way of that has been repaid. I am the unfortunate owner of the Carnival stock which is worth about 1/3 what I paid for it. Royal is trading at 4 times the purchase price. I will give GG credit. I am not a huge fan of stocks like a cruise line or airline or hotel brand or travel industry in general, because they are subject to directly to the headwinds of the economy, and it is hard to plan for events like Covid or Crowdstrike, etc. That said, trying to justify repeatedly here why Royal is a bad investment is just beyond silly/foolish. If you choose to not buy it, good for you, if you tell people who made money buying it they are wrong, that seems to me to be over the edge into crazy. JMHO and YMMV jc
  15. Just got off the Voyager TA in May and the following two cruises. The ship is in great shape. The biggest challenge for this ship is the rather small gym. It didn’t bother me, but the wife was not impressed. The FlowRider was good, and there fore I used the balcony every day to dry my gear. 😆 On the TA we had a larger aft balcony and we used the balcony every night to watch the stars. The problem with the aft balconies on this particular ship is the oily soot that sometimes gets on the balcony, but we loved our evenings watching the skies. On the following two cruises we didn’t have a good sky view and used the balcony less. JC
  16. I like how you turn a 110 million dollar event into a 450 million dollar event. Kind of a convenient way to make a non factual fact even more non factual. I don’t believe they have declared this dividend for the other 3/4 of a year yet. How much does one new build cost? How does that compare to a 110 million dollar event. O, I know it is a very small event comparatively. Why does someone who made great money never buying this particular stock enjoy so much talking about this stock? Thinks that make one go hmmm, and wonder what is wrong with some people. 🤪 jc
  17. Yes, life’s self proclaimed winners is back! Woohoo, congrats, everyone else is a loser, but we have at least one winner in this life. Why do you post on this thread other than that? 😆 jc<——— thought he was a winner until this thread convinced him otherwise!🤣
  18. Like the new Pins on our recent B2B2B Voyager. The “old” Pins seemed to resist playing with them. Quite funny, from a lowly D+ perspective.
  19. Biker is correct. If you like Oasis, that probably means you like things like the aqua theatre, ice skating shows, slides and the FlowRider. X (aka Celebrity) has zero of these things. Agree the Radiance and Millenium class ships are pretty much the same, the other RCI ships bare little resemblance to X. jc
  20. Another thread, I just read about the WJ, reminded me of the horrible behavior of passengers on the TA portion of the cruise. I typically eat lots of meats and starches in WJ, or my preferred buy painful line of fresh stir fry. After I tend to go find fruit instead of dessert. One day in the middle of the Atlantic they were serving fresh papaya…. (Sorry if I mentioned this previous, but it really amazed me)… there were passengers scooping entire plates full of it. I buy papayas occassionally, and I am always a bit cautious about exactly what I bought. My experience is that less than half of the papayas in my grocery stores are actually good to eat, most are a bit ugh… So, I am watching the plates of food going off one after another, while I wait. Not wanting to throw a plate of papaya in the trash, I took a couple of small slices. Sure enough, ugh. People are stupid. Not meaning to stereotype, but the ones taking platefuls all looked somewhat similar. Sorry lord bless the pygmies in New Guinea. jc
  21. Glad you liked it. We have lots of great restaurants around here. We fight way above our level in that area. We have a biz buddy staying with us for the fourth coming up with his wife, and of course, my customer friend is now interested in entertaining us. (Remember we are retired and can’t help either of them any more). I invited them both for fireworks on the 5th at our lake cabin (nephew does an insane amount of fireworks, our neighbor who is a CPA and his business is accounting for festivals), does a burning bear fire bonfire (play on burning man… we burned a stuffed bear the first time) while the fireworks go nuts, and of course, my customer is insisting they take us in their cruiser to Big Cedar Lodge for lunch, then back to our place and I will cook dinner. Big Cedar is Johnny Morris’s fancy resort on the lake about 30 miles from our house. (JM is the sole owner of Bass Pro Shops). Life is weird when you retire. Took my Airstream to the dealer to fix the fairly long list of piddly things that broke during the January to April trip. I showed up and the guy I have been working with looked at me with a why are you hear look. Apparently, there was a cyber attack on on of the car/rv/boat dealerships software Wednesday, and they basically can’t do anything. Good thing I don’t need the AS until August 15. We are at the lake and our cruising friends Sue and Shelby theoretically are coming over tomorrow for a boat ride…. Sue has been freaking out since last year at this time when Shelby who is 78 almost 79 about died from heat exhaustion. I got called on the Friday late before the fourth to take Sue to the hospital in Branson because Shelby was passed out and the ambulance was taking him. We ended up getting to the hospital about 45 minutes before the ambulance. Lord I apologize bless the Pygmies in New Guinea (Larry the cable guy, who I walked with at Big Cedar several years ago during the pro-am. Good guy) She has had him locked down since last summer…. So maybe after his ablation surgery to fix his abnormal rhythms she will let him out to play again. Shelby is a super fit marathon running machine (or he was prior to last year). Life is weird. jc
  22. Got to clean the boat too. So many chores so little time to do them all. This is the price paid for being “home” for less than a month this year. Rodrhi started going nuts about 6AM barking and wanting out. So, I let him out the back door, and I could hear something rubbing against the sun room, Rodrhi, knew he was supposed to save us. Turns out it was a large box turtle dragging against the wood siding. Rodrhi about tore the fence down trying to get at it. Hopefully, we can get out on the water, weather is perfect today supposed to be a high of 80 with sunny skies. JC
