Your welcome Shirley, glad you received it.We were a bit worried that the time between us being there and you arriving that it would somehow get mislaid or they would forget to hand it over.Well done to the Rivierabeach.Enjoy your cocktail and have a brill time....

-
Welcome home Geo and good review. Not any negatives in your review that`ll put me and MJTS off our first time on the Maj in May
-
Hi Jim Wasn't the change of airline that bothered me it was the fact that they changed departing from Aberdeen to Edinburgh. They phoned my son who was flying out with us on the same aircraft with his partner and they changed his flight from Aberdeen to Manchester!!!!!!!!!!!
As per gill, hope you received appropriate compo
-
Paco
Thomson dont tell you about change of airline
We were booked to fly from Edinburgh with Thomson earlier this year.Only found out after going through the boarding gate and on approach to plane we weren`t,we were flying with another airline(name escapes me)
-
The 4 pack only has 330ml bottles in it, (they do a 4x500ml can pack, but its not nearly as nice out of a can!) although there's nearly always at least one supermarket with an offer on 3 of the 500ml bottles for a fiver!
But, they're always expensive in pubs, ranging from around £3.30 in a spoons all the way up to a fiver a bottle in some pubs, so didn't think Thomson's price was too bad!
Baggers
Baggers
Its my play on sarcasm
BTW 4 pack out of Tescos is 500ml cans at £4-99
Thomson prices on the cruises are generally favourable but its shows the profit made by pubs. Its no wonder there are pubs closing every day
-
We have just returned from the Dream and have bought the latest Drinks List home with us.
Kapparberg Pear Cider 500ml is available at 4.20 Pounds full price or 2.10 supplement with A.I.
Seems a reasonable price :D
4 x 500ml at Tescos £4-99

Great review Flopsy and its whetted me and MJTS appetite for our 1st time on the Majesty next year.
-
Chose new destinations.Only cruised on the Dream(majesty next year) and happy enough with it.
Been better if the poll had been "put in order" what changes we`d like to see but obviously thats not doeable
-
Hi Jim when are you doing cruise we go on the 2nd may 14
Hi hall4me,
Unfortunately going to miss each other, were the 16th.
-
Ditto Flopsy
-
Thanks for that Linda.Lot of interesting info Clicked in to link "more detail",punctuality best from Newcastle,Edinburgh second with Glasgow third and Manchester last.More in depth it gives you the punctuality for each route from these airports.
Dont know if you noticed Linda but on the list of most/all scheduled flights/carriers Jet2 is 33rd out of 35th  with Monarch propping them all up at 35th out of 35
-
Flown with Monarch before and can vouch for the uncomfy seats Shirley. Not pile friendly.
We wont see our evening meal at the hotel,we dont arrive in Alicante till 7-30pm. :(
-
They certainly dont Linda
-
The problems seem to arise when they charter planes from another airline - can't remember the name of it :o
Similarly Thomsons(and not just Thomsons) do as well having being party to a few hours delay out and back to our cruise early this year on a Sunwings plane chartered by Thomsons.
Dont know if you or I should be concerned that Jet2 are not listed on this website
-
Linda,
Agree with Shirley. We have flown with Jet2 numerous time and will be again in a week or so.Hope I`m not tempting fate but outwith the odd delay which can occur with any carrier they are a good airline, friendly saff and generous leg room in standard
-
"From what I've read on here, you don't always know who you are flying with till you get to the airport."
Our ticket page clearly quoted a flight number prefixed TOM which indicates a Thomson airline flight - and we are advised of this well in advance when booking.
Are they also using TOM prefixes on chartered flights from other carriers ?
I wouldn't think so, but nothing surprises me !!!
WCM
Having TOM on your ticket page means diddly squat.
There was some discussion on here start of this year regarding change of carrier.Ronjae was flying from Glasgow and had paid for pre booked seats on what was initially a Thomson flight which was changed to another carrier late on(cant remember name of the other carrier) and they could not honour his pre booked seats he had with Thomson.Cant remember the outcome.
As I was going a week earlier than him from Edinburgh and had also paid for pre booked seats on a Thomson flight I emailed Thomsons who assured me we would be on a Thomson flight and that they had only changed the carrier for Glasgow....
Yep,you guessed it,on arrival at Edinburgh it wasn`t a Thomson flight but some Canadian carrier Sunwings.Thankfully this didn`t affect our luggage allowance or pre booked seats.i
Found ronjaes post
What happened was we had initially booked extra leg room seats with Thomson. They sent a letter saying the flight was switched to Jetairfly, the Belgian branch of TUI and the extra leg room seats could not be booked on a different airline. I argued that my booking was with Thomson and they should transfer the seating arrangements accordingly. They wouldn't budge and refunded the booking fee.
We arrived at the airport early as usual and asked for aisle seats at the front and got them no problem.
Another post from the same thread
Ok here goes - not sure if this is happening all over the UK at the moment or just in Scotland ( feels like the dreaded poll tax all over again )
buy extra lugage allowance, prebook seats with Thoms air. They are now amedning these flight and changing passengers to Thoms jetair ( their Belguim part of the company) No problem!!!!!! However here is the fun of things
Thoms jet air 20kg and 6kg for hand lugg Thoms air is 20kg and 7kg of hand lugg for cruise
I have lost 2kg already
you cannot however buy extra lugg allowance or pre book seats with thom jet air, and if you already have with Thoms air - you have to fight to get your money back.
I put in a complaint not to my Travel agent as they tried 3 times for myself and other passengers to purchase extra lugg allowance and pre book seats ( basically their [TA] hands are tied - even member of staff has been change and unable to purchase extra lugg allowance/pre book seats.
My complaint went to the CEO and another director by email last Sunday - by thursday I still hadn't receved a reply or an acknowledgement - so off went another email.
Two hrs later I received a telephone call from customer service offering me a package to resolve my complaint.
I got extra luggage allowance - pay for 4kg and get 1 kg free
I was asked what seats I would like on the plane at no extra cost, couldn't give me Numbered seats eg..... row six aisle/middle or middle/window asked for 2 aisle seats, any row.
Did I get what I wanted not really - to be treated as part of a new process, with no backup in place is a disgusting way to treat a customer or passenger. I actually used the word experiment in my letter of complaint - so beware if you are booked on a Thoms air, it could be changed to their sister company Thoms jetair - with no way of buying extra lugg allowance or pre booking seats, unless you by pass the TA and email CEO direct
-
From what I've read on here, you don't always know who you are flying with till you get to the airport.
I can't understand some of the differences in allowances on the same plane when there is 5kg or 7 kg. What the plane takes in weight for cabin bags should surely be the same for all whether on a cruise holiday or a hotel holiday. They all have to go up in the locker space.
Agree gill.
Dont see why some who are going on the same cruise are penalised in way of lesser baggage allowance because they are flying with a different airline or from a different airport

Colours irrelevant Linda, ours was white and chipped :D

Only given you the years we cruised. Can give you the specific months if required later. Will have to ask Mrs Jim The Scot

The unanswered question and the answers to the questions posed are as much as I expected.
Regards Thomsons TA`s not willing or able to match online price, easy, take your business elsewhere. There are others out there that will and beat it.It beggars belief that Thomsons cannot match or beat other TA`s prices on their own cruises
Of our 5 or is it 6 Thomson cruises none have been booked through Thomson
