  1. Oh, the horror!!! OMG, white wine is not supposed to be served like beer!!
  2. Yes, I had seen another post showing the menu and mentioned that. Seems odd to me for sure. I guess we'd order one as appetizer and share it.
  3. Okay, I think I get you now. The issue is the loss of mini-bar swap for the coffee program. Thing is they cancelled the coffee package, so there is no choice but for it to be gone as a mini-bar option. I don't think it was a great idea by them, but it wasn't targeting an Elite perk per se.
  4. That is quite nice - although $625 is not quite up to the former $1,000. And $625 is a good chunk of change better than $200. That said, if we do the segment, is is 50 nights, so less than half of the full tour. Did not expect to get much from a segment versus the full tour, so not complaining. If we do it, still to come is 3% of for using FCD's and we get Shareholder and discounting from TA.
  5. We enjoy the priority check-in/boarding benefit as like to be among the first on the ship. We also appreciate the mini-bar (after I have done the exchanges for beer and Perrier). We rarely use the laundry service and prefer to do our own (love to have those laundromats on the ships).
  6. I guess I am still missing it then. Not sure what you are looking for Princess to turn back to in order to keep a loyal patron.
  7. It is more than insane if all the guest is interested in is coffee. The new zero Alcohol package includes a lot more beverages if you read about the package. That said, it is not so long ago that the Plus Cruise Fare package cost $40/day and that included wine and liquor besides what is in the Zero Alcohol package - AND it also included Crew Incentive and MedallionNet. There is no point in buying a Zero Alcohol package - for anyone. When you consider Plus Fare option is $60 and subtract out $16 for Crew and at least $7.50 for MedallionNet, the net for beverages drops below $40.
  8. voljeep is quite right here. Keeping a punch was not supposed to give a guest free coffee for every cruise forward. Each coffee card - when they had the physical cards - was supposed to have ship and voyage written on it and then staff should be checking the card and only allowing its use for the specialty punches. So, anyone getting free regular coffee was gaming the system. I also don't understand your complaint, yogamom, because the physical cards have been gone from the ships for a long time now and the New Grounds package was virtual (tied to cabin account via cruise card and medallion). With that newer system, there was no way for abuse of getting free coffee on next voyage. I can certainly empathize with guests lamenting the loss of a coffee package and having to buy a costly zero-alcohol package - or, in effect, go with the Plus cruise fare if really want a package deal.
  9. Forget about Princess and just book the hotel you want. It will be way cheaper and you can get to the port on your own faster as well.
  10. I think all they meant was the lack of perks for booking WC early. I put a booking on hold so far and I noticed we get $200 OBC each - and that was for a segment and not the full tour.
  11. If this is anything like past, they only released a very limited number of cabins. Also, cabins have to be shared across multiple segments.
  12. Doesn't it make sense to have one of the senior captains attend at the ship-building yards? After all, we don't have everyone's favorite captain to narrate the videos any longer.
  13. The only reason to pay would be to upgrade from 1-device plan to the 4-device plan.
  14. You can buy individual days, but I have been waiting (and hoping) someone on a ship will ask the Internet Cafe person what the new price is for a single day. Has anyone out there asked how much a single day internet is now? It used to be $20, but I expect it has gone up.
  15. Hey all. Just buy MedallionNet on board and keep your money. Same price on board as pre-cruise now. And you can use OBC to pay for it if you have enough.
  16. Gotcha, but in Princess case, it's not the size aspect - it's the quality aspect down with the higher price. But on your note, they could have reduced portion sizes of many since they are huge to begin with.
  17. Not me. Give me fair price increases and maintain the quality. I see the same thing in retail where products are cheapened down and pricing stays. I hate to pay for poor food ingredient quality - I'd rather pay more like what I would buy for myself. I have been wondering for some years now with the great increase in organic and otherwise natural foods, including pasture-raised meats and free-range chickens and so forth, when the consumer will be asking for or demanding this from restaurants on land and at sea. I don't see it yet and very few establishments (AFAIK) cater to this.
  18. It wouldn't be so bad if they returned to the former quality of beef.
  19. FLL not equal a foreign port. FLL is a well-oiled machine for processing guests.
  20. Hope you don't have noisy neighbors (nor nosy I suppose as well).
  21. A rose by another name...........
  22. As far as you know, they aren't squirting in any inert gas to preserve the wine at all?
