  1. I am quite sure the marketing dept doesn't talk to the load control dept (I forget the real name). Marketing is going to keep pumping out those upgrade bid emails as it could mean more revenue.
  2. How many times do CC members in the know, including myself, have to post that Arrival Times in the App mean nothing and just arrive at the Terminal for check-in at your convenience and all will be good?
  3. Just book it, Danno. Then watch for any fare drops and act accordingly up until Final Payment Date.
  4. GENERALLY, the main entrance into mid-ship DR's is handled on the Port side of the ship. But I agree with Post #2.
  5. Thanks for review. Obvious to me that DR Mgmt went too far in blocking off two entire DR's for 800 people. One poor assumption is that all of them wanted to eat early.
  6. Although many things do repeat and are standard, I would not count on a Patter from last season to guide me now for the next season.
  7. The longer you wait, the more it costs you. If you buy it on Day 2, I am pretty sure it would cost the same (full price) and you will have missed a day of free drinks.
  8. Following this post, there was much discussion about why so much more debate and angst on Princess board than HAL and X. I think the main reason is that HAL and X have a smart casual dress code and guests can always dress up anytime they like. Meanwhile, Princess is hanging to pretty much the same recommendations they have had for years, while the practice on the ships resembles what HAL and X have been doing for a while now. If Princess followed suit, then we wouldn't have the incessant "do I have to wear a suit" type questions.
  9. Somehow, I am not sure we could get the M*derat*rs to delete any such thread started (i,e, treat it like naming TA's).
  10. First, you are not supposed to name any TA by explicit name (a rule here on CC). Most people refer to the "C" one as the Big Box agency. The other one is unique to Canada I believe. When you are using BB website, perhaps you are not logged in and have your Captain Circle Member Nbr entered? If you do not do that, then you don't see special fare codes you are eligible for such as the CAD at par. When logged into Princess.com, you are supposed to be shown the best Fare Code deal you qualify for and this might explain the difference. IDK how BB Canada website works in terms of cruise shopping as I wouldn't book with them. Anyway, it is good you got the better rate.
  11. I got it from the horse's mouth to coin an old phrase. I am not sure if the new pricing is in effect on board ships now, or if it is later this month. I guess keep an eye out for live ship reports and ask the OP. Perhaps a member here will report from a ship to confirm, but this is my understanding of the situation. If your cruise is months away, you will still have time to pre-purchase after confirming the on board pricing via other guest reports.
  12. You need a new TA. I don't understand how you ended up with a Non-Ref deposit - PCL doesn't really have those anymore. Before doing anything else or letting on what you want to do, ask TA what Fare Code you are booked under or see if it is indicated on your invoice. If the re-fare requires a cancel/re-book action, chances are deposit is lost. But TA may be spinning you in order to avoid having more changes made to the booking (such as a price drop where they lose some commission). If you are re-booking, maybe that Non-Ref goes away. But, like I said, IDK how you ended up with that as a North American sector guest (UK guests don't have the flexibility we have, for example). AFAI am concerned, Canada TA's are of no use in saving money off cruise fare. Perhaps the Cdn offices of the large agency that has a lot of little boxes discounts in Canada similar to USA, but you would be better served by a US-based agency.
  13. Yes. They represent Standard, Plus and Premier fare options. They are the version of Best Sale Ever for Canadian market.
  14. There isn't actually anything on Princess called "My Time Dining".
  15. BS - It is Refundable OBC. Think about it a minute - you need to be treated the same as a guest for whom the 50% discount works or for the guest who purchases on board at the net cost of 50%. Just wait and buy it on board. Multiple times I (and some others have repeated my info) have posted that the new prices are the same both pre-cruise and on board so no need to advance purchase to save dollars.
  16. Your TA should be able to find and see the Fare Codes for herself. Of course she needs a code - every booking requires a Fare Code. If she has access to POLAR, she enters your Name, BD, CC Member Nbr and all of your eligible Fare Codes display. You the client should not have to supply one, but of course it is fine to do so if you know what you want. See Post #7.
  17. We were discussing this a couple of days ago. It was active on the cruise you were looking at then.
  18. Nash is Commodore of the fleet. I should think he is more than qualified.
  19. That number is for en route emergencies and delays. Not for regular booking questions and issues.
  20. There is no such thing any longer as a DR set aside for early/date dining or AT dining. You can get the TD experience of same time/table/waiters, but you need to request it from DR mgmt on board and they should be able to help. DMW App is of no help in delivering the TD experience.
  21. But don't count on it. They don't necessarily maintain a particular order. Also, depends on length of voyage. Perhaps with a repetitive 7-night Caribbean sector cruise, you have better chance of consistent menu order. That said, those voyages often alternate between E & W Caribbean and therefore menu order may be different. You can always ask a DR Mgr on night one order of menus and adjust your SD res if desired.
  22. Quite true. The only two sentences in the Clothing Recommendations section that are definitive are these two: "Pool or beach attire, shorts, ball caps or jeans with fraying and/or holes are not welcomed in the dining room. Shoes must be worn.". Now, whether the DR mgmt on any particular ship enforces some or all of the above is another question.
  23. Wrong place. Also, way insufficient information. Use the ROLL CALL section of this website to find your cruise (Ship & Date). Post your question there - or you may find that someone else is looking for people to join them on a tour.
  24. 1. I would say the bunk bed for sure. Most of the sofa's are short in length and thin "mattress". 2. Not necessarily. I bring my own and do not like conditioner. 3. No.
