  1. I believe both of these end up with the same team: A360ad7@Carnival.com AskOceanMedallion@Carnival.com
  2. I do accept your points as valid and have to agree, particularly when I think about the Sphere Class ships. Maybe they will be some sort of test ground for a "class system". Of course, another challenge will be that some number of folks will prefer to sit elsewhere than their special "cage".
  3. Thanks. I did mean to add a sentence that notwithstanding the aforementioned, there are at least some cases where guests without the required CC Member Level have been able to book dining reservations in ahead of their FP Date.
  4. I wonder if those prices only applied in 2021 since many voyages were less than full whereas now more ships are selling out or close to it?
  5. And I disagree. I think it is fair if the eligible folks are informed that their seats are held up to X time on the clock and after that, no guarantees. The shows are not all that long for one thing. IMO, it is similar to not holding a dining res forever for a no-show. You get 10 mins and that's it. I'd say 5 mins after show begins max (if not right at show time). Option: There is usually a CD intro piece and then the main performer. I'd go with keep seats until CD spiel is over. I'd even release SOME of the seats early and just keep a few back for late arrivals. I think folks should have the courtesy to show up on time as it is disruptive to the entertainers and some audience members in the vicinity. another option - keep some seats held in the back row for late arrivals. If late, you don't get the prime seats, or go find something on your own.
  6. IDK what sort of accommodation you were looking at, but I don't see the pricing as all that bad. Less than or about $100US/pp/day in May 2024. Depending on voyage length and ship. This is for Inside accommodation starting price and doesn't ever cost that much more to get more center-ship. I guess we all have our take on pricing and value, but I wouldn't call it out-of-bounds after a minimal bit of checking.
  7. On another thread, someone posted that the Apple version of Princess/MC App has been updated. According to the Play Store, the Android version was updated to 3.0.106314 on Dec 5. Lately, they have not been providing much detail on each change. It just states "Bug fixes and improvements". Based on reading some posts today, I think they got it wrong in the Play Store. It should read "We just added some more bugs".
  8. The Princess/MC App has pretty much always been just fine, or great perhaps, when on a cruise. It sucks bigtime in the pre-cruise environment.
  9. The rule (policy) is that if you are Elite or Platinum, you can book in DMW as soon as you have a booking with a deposit applied. All other guests must wait until they have made Final Payment for their voyages (unless booked in a Suite or Club Class, in which case all they need is Specialty Dining access).
  10. I think it is taking a while for folks to get what you did. You owed $X to PCL in order to fully pay for your voyage. You entered a payment of $X + $500 and OVER-PAID what you owed. PCL put the excess into OBC rather than, say, crediting back your credit card. Another poster mentioned this doesn't work if using a TA. I'd say it *might* work if the TA is charging you what Princess rate is with no discount. In a discounting TA situation, the agency makes up the fare difference with some "accounting magic" which is likely from their commission pool or actually paying the difference. An overpayment to the guest's credit card in this case wouldn't help get the OBC.
  11. You may be leaping to conclusion here. Perhaps now that a fee is being charged, Princess is going to ship to other countries like Canada. I think part of their excuse/reason before was additional cost. I have seen where Medallions came in bulk to US from Singapore then were re-sent out. Has anyone seen documentation or asked someone in-the-know at Princess if they are now going to mail to other locations if guest ponies up the $10? In terms of the fare packages, I don't think one can ascribe much of any value to the shipping of Medallion from the $10 increase. Perhaps that is your point - if a guest buys Plus going forward, they may not get the Medallion shipped. On recent voyages, many guests were rebated $10/day for no internet. I guess one might ask for a credit if not getting shipping. I guess we need to see full and final T&C to see what language they are going to use relative to Medallion shipping. An American who doesn't receive Medallions is going to be looking for a compensation no doubt.
  12. These can give a pretty good idea of what to expect, but the post is almost a year old and dishes do change somewhat over time and also depending on area of the world.
  13. NEVER try and link a booking in the App. There has always been a couple of days (approx) delay between a booking change in POLAR and having it reflect in Princess (a.k.a. MC) App. Just give it some time and the old booking will go away and the new one will appear.
  14. A friend of mine is also extremely fastidious with using the sanitizer. Just be careful, you don't end up like this:
  15. I was pretty young when he was in his prime. I always liked Dean myself. And I was just a kid.
  16. Some would consider the new cabin better and some not. Pretend you want to book a cabin and see if there are any other BC Catg cabins of interest. You can ask to move to an open one for no charge. ETA: Hmm.. quick look indicates slim pickings. Either ask about alternatives or ask for old one back. Perhaps you would prefer one of the many BD's instead of the BC? You need to call PCL or your TA and push the inquiry. Also, were you marked "no upgrade", or were you open to upgrades? If the latter, harder to make a case.
  17. If your post was placed as a sticky for the next 2-3 months I bet it would save 500 CC posts and 1000 responses. 😉
  18. This has given me shudder thoughts. Just wait - folks who order Medallions and they don't arrive will be trying to get their $10 back. Or asking for OBC since PCL didn't deliver on the new Plus package.
  19. So wrong. More fake news from a Princess employee.
  20. They are one and the same. AARP Rewards is simply another source to purchase from. The cards are PCL cards.
  21. $10 per order (which is typically 2 in the package). Otherwise agree - it was a courtesy thing - really more of a marketing scheme they hyped as part of getting ready for the "exciting and new" adventure. Something the competition didn't have. They should be pretty clear in a separate communication that existing Medallion orders to ship to home are going to attract a fee after X date - regardless of when ordered via the Princess App. PS - Party of 3/4 would need to be on a single booking. Each cabin is a separate order and separate fee IMO.
  22. True, it isn't an option. Why not save the gift card to pay off balance of voyage owing? (Or, are you already fully paid)? Another option is to take the card onto the ship and present at Guest Services for OBC.
  23. True and I imagine it is PCL's all-star IT team that is once again responsible for not getting all the new voyage info loaded. Often, one or two of our TA members post the PDF's and Excel files for new voyages which indicate the Circle Launch pricing (although having that still wouldn't permit a booking). I imagine they will get it loaded up eventually. It isn't the first time this has happened.
  24. There is a Total Wine east of LGB (Long Beach store) you could direct cab/limo to first. Also, a Trader Joe's just west of LGB.
