Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Thanks. Do you know whether it is possible to leave the ship at 4 in the morning?
  2. I will sail on Marina from October 2 to 16 from Barcelona to Malta. Actually, the ship will arrive in Malta on October 15 morning with an overnight stay, the cruise ending on October 16 morning. The flight I want to take to leave Malta departs at 5:50 am on October 16. So I will need to leave the ship at 4 am on October 16. Do you know if we can leave the ship so early? Is there a kind of curfew during the night preventing passengers to get in or off the ship during a certain period at night? Thanks for your answers!
  3. Thanks. I put HAL and the address of their head office in Seattle and it worked well. I received the authorization in just 90 minutes!
  4. I will sail from Sydney to Vancouver aboard Noordam departing April 6. I am doing my ESTA for the USA since the ship will call several days in Hawaii. I do not know what I should put when asking my point of contact information knowing that I need a name, street address, tel number. Should I use the Port agent of HAL in Honolulu? If yes, does someone know its name and address? Thanks for your help.
  5. Thanks. I will search on internet to figure out what Aquamor is about.
  6. I will sail with my mother (90) for 2 weeks on board Oceania Marina. Since it is a port intensive cruise with only 1 sea day, I assume that the Grand Dining Room will be closed for lunch all the time (except once). My mother having some mobility issue, what are the options if we do not want to have lunch at the Terrace Cafe? Is there a possibility to have a lunch seated at a table without having to walk to a buffet? Thanks.
  7. Thanks. Does it mean that every morning I will have to make my request using the app very early?
  8. Hello, I am about to embark QM2 in Southampton on January 11 for 37 nights. I have chosen the "Open seating" option as a dining preference. For those having some experience, is it easy to get a table for 2 for a dinner starting between 7:30pm to 8:00 pm or should I expect to wait each evening for a long time and basically end up starting my dinner more or less at the same time as the late seating. Many thanks in advance for your replies!
  9. I am in an accessible cabin for a cruise sailing in less than 10 days. I booked the cruise 2 years ago. I did not choose my cabin. Oceania assigned the last available cabin at that moment and it was an accessible cabin. I have made sure with Oceania that they know I do not need an accessible cabin. I told O that should a disabled passenger needs this cabin, I have no problem to be moved. But so far, I got no request from O. I assume there is no disabled passenger on my cruise in need for an accessible cabin : Am I right? Otherwise, I would feel very guilty.
  10. I have been assigned one of these accessible cabins as well because it was the last available in that category. I booked it 2 years ago and told Oceania that I would be happy to move to another one should a person in need of an accessible cabin wants to take it but so far, nothing has moved. I will see what happens when boarding. But I would be very upset at Oceania if I prevent a person in need to sail in good conditions.
  11. The good news for me is that I do not need to work anymore 😀
  12. I have quit my job aged 51 after almost 35 years of very hard work for my studies and my professional life. Then I have decided to spend some years as permanent traveler which means I have put a tenant in my home in Switzerland and I travel full time. Once or twice a year I come back to Europe to visit friends and relatives but I do not have a home anymore. I still have a mail address to receive some paper mail and for tax reasons but for the rest I just have my luggage and my passport and I am away from home 365 (or 366) days a year! Thus the reason for my question regarding the shoes. Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺
  13. Thanks for all your answers. Quite useful!
  14. Since I am a permanent traveller, I do not travel with black leather shoes. I will have long sleeve shirts and a dark blue pant but was wondering what is acceptable for shoes? I only have dark blue New Balance sport shoes with me. Could it be OK or should I buy something smarter before boarding the ship?
  15. I am booked on the 40-day BtoB Nautica cruise from Singapore to Barcelona sailing on May 10. When hearing about this extraordinary sales, I contacted immediately my TA to see what kind of benefit I could get, knowing that both leg of my cruise was part of the discount for my cabin category. Since I got no answer from my TA, I contacted directly Oceania. They replied immediately that this issue must be handled by my TA but that as a courtesy they would forward my request to their appropriate department. In just 4 days, I got a reply and got an OBC amount representing exactly the difference between the price I paid and the new discounted price. I was quite impressed by Oceania, not by my TA!
