  1. If you get the chance, listen to his chat with Jeff Bezos on his experience when he returns. It is so emotional and so articulate. Makes me proud to be a fellow Canadian.
  2. I am not unhappy that spouse and I received AZ and Pfizer mix. I feel that we protected our health and helped others to get needed shots. I stiĺl feel that and although there is frustration that the CDC is not paying attention to others, and that Doug Ford is ignoring many of his electorate, I probably would do the same thing if it helped others get shots. However, if I could travel, especially if I could get on cruise ship in the USA, I would be ecstatic!
  3. We are also hoping. Both are AZ and Pfizer. We were also planning on spending the winter in SC, but will give that up if we can take our planned cruises. This cruise withdrawal is getting harder.
  4. Thanks, I bookmarked the site and will check it out after the holiday
  5. Thanks for the great review. It inspired my spouse and I to finally book a river cruise we have been talking about. Also even more thanks for the work you have been providing during this crisis. I found it heartwarming to hear that you and your spouse were able to use such a great program to partially pay back your sacrifices.
  6. I hear you Evilmuffin. We would welcome the opportunity to get a third shot, a test or whatever the cruise lines want in order to be able to cruise again. We have a TA 2022 cruise from Fort Lauderdale to Southampton UK. It is 23 days, but because it leaves from US, where we would be for only hours of those 23 days, right now, we cannot board, because the country with the worst Covid record for cases and deaths, consisiders our AZ/Pfizer combination unvaccinated.
  7. I think the conflicting information opens our minds to things we may not have thought of before we read it here. It at least allows us to question our perceptions and hopefully get new and updated info. That is exactly what happened here. As long as it is done in a respectful manner, we should all welcome questions.
  8. Our Retired Teachers of Ontario insurance policy underwritten. by Johnson covers us for Covid. No cancellation, but medical is covered. I am sure Blue Cross Ontario covers Covid as well.
  9. I would be elated at this news if Doug Ford would allow a booster shot for travel, to counteract the cruise line interpretations, or for seniors. My sister visited from Alberta last week after receiving her third shot in early August. And we are all aware of the problems in Alberta.
  10. Well said. Those who flaunt rules and protocols which are in place to protect everyone also irk the majority. They have helped to give rise to Delta, have prolonged the pandemic, and caused untold suffering to thousands who have had long awaited surgeries cancelled. If they could only understand how selfish they truly are! If this new miracle pill is approved, the unvaxxed should have to pay to receive it.
  11. I absolutely agree with you Fouremco. Although each one of us gets frustrated with changing rules and protocols, and what sèems to be a slow pace to modify laws, as a country, we are in a far better place than most other countries. If there was just some way to convince the anti-vaxxers to join the club, perhaps we could reach herd Immunity and leave much of this behind. Hopefully while we still have a functioning hospital system.
  12. I also posted this on the Cost of vaccines in Canada thread.. I am aware how quickly things change, but I want to make sure that I understand what is going on now. 1. To get aboard a flight from Canada to USA, I require an antigen test ( $ 40 at SDM, cheaper at Costco) within 3 days of flight. 2. To return to Canada, I need a PCR or NAAT test within 3 days before boarding flight. I must also complete an Arrive Canada ap. These guidelines will likely have changed by October. If /when land border re-opens, then new guidelines will apply overland as well. Is my understanding correct as of now, or is there something not right?

  14. Thanks lots-of-km2. I saw the Air Canada info previously, but it didn't show up yesterday. Trying to plan trips requires so much info and having it in just one place is so convenient.
  15. Both spouse and I have AZ and Pfizer. We are happy to have received them because being healthy and out of an ICU is more important than traveling. However,, the call of the TravelBug is getting louder every week. Come on, Mr. Ford, let's release the boosters.
