We noticed that as well but maybe it just seemed like that because there were so many of them, 80 plus Pinnacles😳

    Sherri🙂

We were on the allure Sept 12. I think there were 90 pinnacles and 6 new members that cruise! The most I have seen on any cruise! But then, most of the passengers were crown and anchor loyal to Royal. They depend on us to help them recover and we're determined to do just that! 🥰

There are no hotels in Bayonne.

What exact date do you need a hotel?  Hotel budget range?  Number of people?  Bed size requirements?  Are you flying or driving?  Are you sightseeing in NYC?  Dinner requirements?

We will be flying in the night before the cruise..september 2020.Not sightseeing, just want to get there and sleep. Party of 2. At least a queen but prefer a king. I believe we fly into Newark.  I'm not comfortable in big cities on our own...dinner isn't important to me,  could be anything. Budget? Medium I guess...

  3. This diamond plus member misses the embarkation priority boarding and special seating at ice shows.  We have solved the boarding problem by arriving after 2 pm, no lines then, but it was a nice perk.

We appreciate most of all the happy hour and 3 drinks loaded on our card so that we can enjoy a free drink almost anywhere on the ship. Also really appreciate the wifi.

The crew and staff have always bent over backwards to make each cruise special, so even though they have taken away some of the perks we were used to, the most important ones are still there.  Just my opinion, thanks for yours.

  4. I just got my future cruise credit for the cancelled Oasis transatlantic. It appears they did not credit the taxes paid.  Does anyone know if or how the taxes will be refunded? Also, some people have stated they received an email from rcl stating they have a dedicated person to answer any and all questions related to the cancellation issues. I am diamond plus and have not received any such email. Perhaps only pinnacles get that?  Any wisdom appreciated...

  5. I just sent 8 relatives and friends to Mr Sanchez and they were forced to pay for the all inclusive! What a rip off. If I had been with them I would have told them no thanks but I thunk they felt trapped since they had taken the taxi there and are not familiar with the area.  I will never recommend that place again.

  6. We just docked at the downtown pier in Cozumel. Usually we walk to the sunset bar from the international pier and snorkel from there. Is there a good restaurant on the beach where we could eat and snorkel that is close enough to walk to from the downtown pier? I don't think we have ever docked here!  Help! We don't want to take a taxi because we enjoy the walk. Thanks.

I read somewhere they were only giving out drink tickets for elite members and not having Captain Club cocktail parties. I hope it’s not true. Does anyone know?

I just read a review of someone who was just on the edge and he said they had unlimited drinks during the CD parties. I hope this will be fleet wide again! Please post if you know,  thanks

I was informed a few months ago that CP guests on Oasis are allowed to use their Giovanni's lunch on embarkation day, but it seems this is no longer the case, and it is only usable on sea days. Any more updated information/experiences from anybody?

We were on the Oasis january 6th of this year in a CPB. We received a free bottle of wine in our stateroom and lunch any day the restaurants were open at either giovanni's, johnny rockets, or sabor. We had to make a reservation the first day of the cruise. We chose sabor and it was EXCELLENT!

  9. We have used global airport parking many times. It's less than half the price of port parking and they have a free shuttle both ways. If you get there early you are likely to get a covered parking place in their parking garage. It's located about a mile or 2 from the port in downtown miami. We have never had an issue with our car there, it seems more secure since it's in a garage. The only down side is waiting for the return shuttle on debarkation day. Too many people and not enough shuttles. But if you don't mind waiting you can save some money. Parking at the port is so much easier...hence the price. Good luck!

Did you allow the cabin steward access to the cabin to service it or have you left a do not disturb sign out?  By not reporting your husband's sickness, the cabin steward will not know to put your linens and towels into hazmat bags to be cleaned with other infected laundry.  The cabin steward will not put on a hazmat suite to clean your cabin as they do with infected cabins.  Your cabin will not be on the list of cabins that need to be fogged prior to someone else occupying the infected cabin.

You also should be quarantined as you are touching surfaces that have been contaminated.

We were on a cruise with norovirus and every flat surface in our cabin was wiped down every day, because we were surrounded with quarantined cabins.  Our walls were washed daily, cabinets, desk, anything and everything that they could reach.  There was always a haze on mirrors and glass surfaces because the disinfectant needs to be left on the surface for a specific time for it to work.

We came away from that cruise without every getting norovirus because our cabin steward did the best to keep us healthy.

Report his illness for everyone's benefit.

Yes I did report to our cabin steward immediately.  Guess i should have made that clear.  I believe i said we did not report to a doctor because there isn't anything they can do....they are treating with over the counter meds, which i always bring when we are on vacation, just in case. If my husband's symptoms did not improve after the first night of symptoms, of course we would have taken advantage of the medical treatment offered.  It also seems to me that the staff should treat every cabin as if it's been infected, since no one can really be sure if they have been affected until they are actually sick.  If i were trying to HIDE it, I don't think I would be stupid enough to post on a public site!  I chose to post in order to inform others of what is going on.  Sheesh. Get off your judgemental horses. I'm out.

The question about the security line has been asked on the unnamed social media site that starts with a F.  Royal is responding that priority boarding is still a D+ perk, but that there may be a separate Suite/Pinnacle line to get into the building.

It is still a perk once you get through security, but we used to be allowed to skip the security lines along with pinnacles and suites.

  12. I don't know if this has been mentioned, but the ship doctor is making complimentary visits to your stateroom to give you a checkup and meds if needed. Royal deserves a gold star for the way they are handling this in my opinion.

PS.... I'm still ok. My husband stayed in bed all day yesterday (day 2 of the virus) and was able to eat the BRAT diet. He is sleeping now and I'm hoping he will feel better today. We have not called the doc nor have we reported his illness. I bet there are others who have not reported so the numbers of those infected are probably higher than they think.

This is just crazy. We’re hunkered down in our room because I’m so scared of getting sick. Captain says we’re all getting onboard credit. We already have onboard credit that we have no use for. Prepaid for everything before we got on the ship. Anything we can do about this? Is a credit possible? This is our first cruise in 15 years and will most likely be our last. Not just because of this, just realized we’re not cruise people.

How about getting a nice massage to relieve your stress?

  14. They just announced that everyone will receive a full one day of onboard credit based on what was paid in cruise fare, due to the jamaican govt. Not allowing us to disembark. We will be leaving for falmouth early and heading to Cozumel. I wonder if they will allow us off the ship there?  The crew is having to work extra hard and are doing the best they can.

  15. We are currently on the oasis and last night my husband came down with all of the symptoms of noro virus. This morning when i went to the diamond lounge for breakfast, i was not allowed to serve myself. The captain has made an announcement that many passengers are sick and they are taking precautions to help. I'm not sick yet but washing my hands like crazy!  Does anyone have experience with quarantines from this? Not really sure what to do. Hubby feels somewhat better today but last night was rough. I'm bringing him water and bland foods, so far so good.
