  1. I wonder if it would be worth it to get an Uber to take me from the ship to Budget? Then return to get my family? OR maybe that would be chaotic as well? I can be one of the earliest off if that makes a difference.
  2. Thank you. I got spoiled by the ease of picking up at an airport. Your response helps me prepare better. Thanks again!
  3. I'm part of Budget's loyalty program and I always get a text an hour or so before I pick up my rental with the spot number where my car is. I never have to go to the counter or speak to anyone. It's get in the car and go. I can only cross my fingers that it works the same way. My credit card is on file with them. I show ID when I leave the lot.
  4. Thank you for this information. There will be 5 of us with 5 bags. I'd love to get us all to the Budget place together to avoid having to go back to the mess of debarkation and people being picked up. We're platinum and staying in a Presidential Suite so we qualify for the earliest walk off with our own luggage. I'll scope it out when we embark to see where the line for rental car shuttles is. Thank you again for the information.
  5. Hey y'all. I've searched for answers but haven't found exactly what I'm looking for. We're sailing on the Mardi Gras this summer. I've rented a car on debarkation day thru Budget. Has anyone done this and can walk me through the process? Get off the ship, go through customs, find the shuttle where? Can I take all my luggage with me or do I need to go get the car then return to get the rest of my party with luggage? Thanks!
  6. Thanks! I didn't even think of youtube.
  7. We're traveling to Costa Maya next month and don't want to do an excursion but what's at the pier? Shopping of any kind? Duty free stores? We might want to grab a souvenir or something at the pier but not leave that area. Thanks!
  8. Hi! I've thought about being a travel agent over the years but I don't have a big rolodex (showing my age) of people to call on to be clients. One barrier for me would be starting from nothing and trying to find clients. How do I build clientele? Also, any idea about the volume of sales that's needed to be able to make a living as a travel agent? Would I have to book 100k a month just to eek out a living? Thanks so much!
  9. What's the parking situation there? We cruised from Mobile many years ago and all I remember is a big parking garage.
  10. I'm interested in this as well. 😉
  11. No fancy coffee maker? We had Lavazzo coffee makers in the suites on NCL. That's great amenity. Disappointed to see there isn't one in this level of suite. I usually take a few packs of Starbucks cold coffee in cans on board but having a maker in the room would be excellent.
  12. I can answer! Yes, that's part of the Presidential suite balcony. It has this side area with spa and shower then the area over the bridge and across the front of the stateroom. I read that the balcony area is bigger than the actual stateroom at about 1,300 sq ft.
  13. These photos help so much! Thank you. The shower is farther down and you probably couldn't get the camera to view there. Good information to have. This, by the way, looks like heaven. Soaking in the spa out on the open ocean. Perfection!
  14. I sent my oldest sons' passport sent off for renewal on January 4. I have this thing through USPS that sends me images of mail and packages that are being delivered to me and I have something coming from the passport office tomorrow. I think that puts it at the 11 week mark which is the higher end of their 8 to 11 week timeline. Meanwhile I expedited my other sons' passport because I needed it for a spring break trip and I got it back in less than 3 weeks.
  15. Didn't you love the the Pearl 2 br/2ba? When my kids were small we'd book those for repositioning cruises up and down the West coast. The space was great and the extra bathroom was a big bonus. I'm excited for the Presidential balcony. I honestly feel like I could spend the whole week there. I don't go to shows. I go to the casino, dinner and I like getting some sun. Depending on what food I can get delivered to the balcony dining table, I would just leave the room for the casino. 😉
  16. LOL A show. It looks pretty private but you never know where a ship camera will be. The outdoor shower is a great bonus for when someone else is in the shower and you need to get ready for dinner. Even if he wore his swim trunks, it would work!
  17. We were on the Sunshine last week and with our Tmobile plan we were able to text other iphone users while being in airplane mode the entire week. I couldn't text android users. When we were in Nassau we got a message from Tmobile letting us know we had data and texting but calls would be .25 cents a minute.
  18. I just booked the Spirit out of Mobile for next March. I'm happy to hear the positive comments.
  19. Another question I have. Exactly how private is the hot tub/shower area on the balcony of this suite? Private enough to use the shower as an actual shower and be nude without a ship camera on you? Private enough to naked hot tub? I'd worry about a ship camera being on me but my son says he bets he could shower outside when the bathroom shower is being used by someone else. I'm skeptical.
  20. I booked it for the balcony space and the separate bedroom mostly. I figured if I'm going to be on a ship with 6000 other people, I need the most relaxing space to go to to get away from it all. I'd much rather spend money on an experience versus something tangible that I can hold so spending the money for me is right up my alley. It's just more than we usually spend on travel. Plus I've told my kids so I'm committed to it now! lol
  21. Thanks for this! It's even more detailed. Now I have to investigate the thermal suites. 🙂
  22. Thanks for that. I have the whole list of things. I was hoping to get feedback from someone that's stayed in one of these suites and find out how they optimized their experience.
  23. Bit the bullet and booked a Presidential Suite on the Mardi Gras for next summer. It was that or downpayment for a house. 😆 We have a house so suite it is! I've been diving deep into everything I can find out and I don't want to miss a thing. I want to take advantage of every perk offered with the suite and do all the things. I'm thinking there won't be time to sleep but that's OK. I'll sleep when I get home. What do I need to do to make sure I do and see and take advantage of everything this amazing stateroom offers? I'll probably never book something like this again because, honestly, it's a lot of money. Tell me your best tips and tricks and insider info! Please. 🙂
  24. When we booked the other day, my PVP told me they couldn't get off the ship. Maybe it's something the cruise line monitored? Whatever the case, Im happy to see the change.
