  1. I consider the first part of vacation to be "Land Cruise." That is the car/plane travel, hotel, and meals leading up to the actual cruise. So, my "Cruise begins when the garage doors goes down, and we drive to the airport. For the nit-picky people who don't include pre-cruise time as cruise but merely vacation, it would be when we arrive at the pier and hand our luggage over to the porters. 😃
  2. I don't understand the people who get upset when the "Perks" or loyalty gifts are deemed "Not good enough." I have never understood people who cruise for status. We cruise because we like the destinations and the pleasant way to get there. Is it a plus that I get a free ice cream? Yes, but that is just a bonus. Really don't care about the stuff. I just want to have a great vacation. We only cruise about every other year or so. I think when you cruise more often, you lose the joy in it and start getting "Nit-picky" about everything. So, to answer the question, yes, I would continue to cruise without the stuff. 😃
  3. We have the classic package for our next cruise. We have had the premium package before, but it was a perk. My question is this, they usually have the table set up in the terminal for package purchases, if we decide to upgrade our package before we board, can we pay cash for the upgrade, or will I need to use a credit card?
  4. This may be a stupid question, but is it $14.99 per movie, or per day to get the channel to watch movie?
  5. I don't think cruise line really matters. We have seen drunks on every line we have sailed. With the beverage packages that are now available, it may be more prevalent then ever. It does make for some interesting "People Watching." Shorter cruises, spring break, summer vacations, and very inexpensive cruises are all things you want to look at when trying to avoid large groups of "Over-imbibing" cruisers. With all that being said, cruise ships are large enough, that you can find places to relax where the "Less-sober" people are not.
  6. If you would have read ChelleBee's post, you would have seen that she did look at the deck plan. She checked for what was important to her at the time. I'm sure you don't mean to sound condescending, but your posts do come off that way.
  7. If DH and I have unlimited internet, will we be able to bring our roku stick and plug it in the tv?
  8. They may not be the traditional hump cabins in the middle of the ship, but there are some angled bumps on "M" class ships.
  9. Again, to me that is a necessity. DH snores like a freight train. 😴
  10. I completely agree. I didn't include clorox wipes, because I don't consider them "Creature Comforts" I consider them a necessity. 😃 A stranger on an airplane was laughing at me when I pulled wipes out and started cleaning everything, until I showed him how dirty the wipe was. I then asked him if he would like a wipe. He had a shocked look on his face, and shook his head yes. p.s. don't forget the tops of the seats in front of you on a plane. Everyone touches them. 😃
  11. We also love the ABC's going again in October, and I agree about Barbados. It is a lovely island, and besides the rum, there is the Agapey Chocolate Factory. They make some of the best chocolate bars (some of them with the Barbados rum in them.) The owner gives tours. You can go to their web page, and set it up. It was a really fun tour.
  12. I agree. If we end up at a large table, and our table mates don't show up, I would look at it like we got a large table for 2 and spread out a little. 😃
  13. We found a cabin in the same category, in a better location yesterday. I called my TA, and she took care of it. No problem at all. I think it starts to get difficult when you change cabin Categories.
  14. Thanks for the info. After thinking about it, I worded my question incorrectly. We always had our tickets delivered to our cabin. We would go and pick up our tender time and group stickers. So it makes sense that the stewards would deliver them to you the night before. 😃
  15. We took our kids on their first cruise when they were 9 and 16. They had a great time. No phones were used. They loved the kids & Teens clubs. DS could check himself in and out, he would start there, to meet up with the friends he made, but we always found him on the basketball court, miniature golf course, or swimming. He did not have charging privileges on his card, so if he wanted something, he had to check in. DD had the best time of all of us. She loved the Kid's club. So much to do. When she didn't want to be there, we did family things. They loved eating in the MDR with us every night. They never wanted to miss seeing our wait staff. They were awesome. The kids hung by the pool with us some of the time, and we explored the ports together. It was some of our best family vacations we have taken. If you stay engaged with them, they want to stay engaged as well.
  16. When you give your passport to the cruise line, and it is needed at a particular port, when do they return it to you? Do they keep it with your excursion tickets, if you have an excursion through the ship? Do they deliver it to your cabin? If so, when do they do that? Just curious, because that is a lot of passports to return to cruisers for a port.
  17. I bring my own shampoo, Conditioner, Hair dryer, and Clorox wipes for the plane, Hotel, and cabin. I also bring snacks for the airplane and our cabin. G.F. Pretzels, nuts, and some kind of G.F. cookies. And hopefully, I remember to save some for the airplane ride home. 😃
  18. I saw a drunk girl take down her bikini bottoms while sitting on a chaise on the lido deck, urinate, and then pull her bottoms back up. Then she fell asleep. Security came as I was leaving.
