Pirate’s LIVE Mardi Gras Review…11/12/22-11/19/22
aml3679 replied to pirate4me2's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
We usually sail Celebrity. That being said, we live less than 3 hours from Port Canaveral. We just got off the Freedom and had a great time. The cruise bug hit hard. Booked the Mardi Gras for a week next April. Will be following -
We loved the main dining room for breakfast

Quick review..millennium in the southern Caribbean
aml3679 replied to Lialovestotravel's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Nice review. The millennium will always have a special place in our heart. It is where we took our first cruise and we renewed our vows after 25 years. We went on a West Coast wine cruise that sailed from Vancouver British Columbia to San Diego. -
I am a big eater but would never order 3 meals. The upcost, in this case,is justified. I don’t eat ice cream after midnight. Have the beverage package, will load up on included water.

I got the ribeye and my husband the filet. The filet was better.

We are usually loyal to Celebrity, But decided to take a cheap cruise for our 37th wedding anniversary on carnival. While we enjoyed ourselves , the food was terrible in their Buffet area. The choices were very limited. The food was also very bland and cold. We did eat in their steakhouse and enjoyed our meal very much, but it was nothing compared to a Murano. We are very much looking forward to our celebration cruise next November on the Silhouette and all of the wonderful food choices.

We usually sell on Celebrity but decided to take this cruise for our 37th wedding anniversary. having heard so many negative reviews, we went in saying that we were going to be determined to have a good time and not complain. Therefore, we went in with low expectations. We drove in the day before and stayed at country Inn and suites. It was about a mile from the cruise port. For $69 they should hold you to the cruise port and pick you up. This saved us about $30. Embarkation was very organized. We had a boarding time of 1030 and we were on the ship by 11. Since we were hungry, we went with guys burgers and we’re not disappointed. Our room was ready by 1:30. We usually get a balcony, but decided to do an ocean view, and we would do an ocean view again. Our room was clean, very spacious. The only complaint we had the whole time is that our shower flooded the bathroom. Our cruise Director, James love, was fabulous. Food Our meals in the main dining room were mostly good. We had one disappointing dinner. Breakfast was great. Our server was fantastic. We gave him $30 because we only ate in the main dining room for breakfast and for three dinners. We did the green eggs and ham breakfast and while it was fun, the food was disappointing and cold. They charge $10 per person. We eat at the Sun King steakhouse and really enjoyed it. Service was top-notch. We did not enjoy the buffet plus the selections were very limited. Entertainment Entertainment was great. They had a the freedom rock band in which my husband really enjoyed it. There were two violinist that were great. The comedian was very funny. The shows were good. We played trivia and the host Marcella was very good at her job and funny. Favorite bar was the alchemy bar. By the second night, one of the bartenders knew what we were drinking. I will definitely say for us, the cheers package was worth it. their private island, Princess Cays , was nothing special. rented a clam shell for $30 and only stayed for two hours. shopping was nothing special, we bought a magnet and a cup. There was a casino but we did not participate. This is changed our mind about cruising with Carnival. Although we have a cruise on celebrity next November, we are going to try to do another cruise of carnival in April.

We finally got power back on yesterday. Threw away about $400 worth of food. Our roof got some damage and then the insurance adjuster is coming out on Tuesday after we get back from our cruise. We were very fortunate. Had the storm shifted 25 miles north, we would’ve lost everything. My husband is golfing with his brothers today and I helped him pack yesterday and I did my packing today. Our cruise leaves on Thursday but we are staying in Port Canaveral overnight starting tomorrow. It is been a very expensive and stressful week and we will be glad to get on a cruise ship and relax

Thank goodness our home is intact except our roof is damaged, we need a new one anyway. Many homes in our mobile home park did not fare so well. We lost everything in our refrigerator and freezer. No power. Stayed in a hotel for a week with half power and cold water. we checked out today with our two cats. thankfully, my brother-in-law lives in the same park and has power, so we will be camping out with him for a few days. Supposed to leave on Wednesday her cruise, we may not have power by the time it’s time to pack. Looking forward to our cruise and relaxing after a very hectic and scary week. If the hurricane shifted 25 miles To the north, we would’ve lost everything.

We are celebrating our 37th wedding anniversary this coming October. Just booked a quick four day five day quick getaway for the freedom from October 6 to the 10th. Excited.
