It will take weeks to extract the ship and patch her up for a TA. Situation likely to be worse than reported so far. No way is it leaving "immediately"

That's what I figured, but from the letter people are receiving, it states that they ship will be leaving for Spain. So it does make it sounds like they are leaving "soon."

Which sucks but buying insurance is also deciding what you want to be protected for.  I’ve rolled the dice at times and had times I lost that roll, so now I weigh what I’m willing to lose and don’t want to have to but it is the risk anyone takes.  I so get it just sucks though for all affected, in no way trying to minimize that!

We actually purchase it for medical costs for us or if anything happens to our family members that would prevent us from going.

I was just told that the 7, 14 and 21 April cruises have been cancelled.  The ship was damaged in the Aqua Theater and some of the suites at the rear of the ship.  They are leaving right away for Spain where they will be putting into a repair facility there that is big enough for her to make the repairs there.  All other sailings should be OK.  Hopefully!

Really? They can leave right away for Spain with the underside and azipod damage? I guess we'll just have to keep our eye on Oasis in the meantime...

You go to their site, which should have info and fill out the paperwork to get a refund.  You can check with airlines to see if you can reschedule it, SWA is pretty good with no fees to changes.

SWA doesn't fly to Barcelona:( Thank goodness we took out travel insurance and purchased our air through RC....

I am very sympathetic to those that are cruising soon.  Its a a friggan disaster and I feel your pain.  In saying that just look at the damage that is just visible in the picture.  Its millions of dollars of damage!!  That screen alone is probably hundreds of thousands.  The cruise industry is no different than how disney operates.  Its all about the vision.  Its about the WOW!  They do now want you to walk on that ship and see a construction zone.  This will not sail with a bent balcony that looks like it does.  Yellow caution tape to block off guests is not the image they want to leave you with.  Dont get me wrong, maybe its something they can fix quickly but it looks very bad to me. My guess is that Oasis does not sail with any cosmetic damage.  I am truly hoping that they get it fixed ASAP so the nobody is effected but those pictures are nasty.

Who knows whats going on below the water line.  To send off all the crew members to the states is another indication this may be a while.

Oh, I agree with you which is why I am getting myself ready to hear the worst. But oh how I feel for those who are supposed to leave this Sunday and next Sunday...to think how much they have been looking forward to their cruise:(

Not a Spoiler:   In Escape from the Rubicon, there is a part where 7 or 8 cables need to be connected.  You will currently need 3-5 of your players to hold the cables in place or they will not stay plugged in.  If you have placed all of them in the correct positions but you don’t see a result, the “guide” in the room with you will do whatever it takes for the result to appear.  I hope RC is aware of this problem, and will fix it soon.  Other than that, the Escape Room is a lot of fun.  I hope your team will successfully escape before the hour runs out.

P.S. I apologize for the large font.  For some reason it won’t let me change it, even when I am in “edit” mode.

Is the Escape Room the same experience as it was 2 years ago? What is the current cost? Thank you for your "hint" about the cables....I don't remember that part at all!

Wow - hopefully that means he may be getting a full time CD role. I'm jealous - would love to have Simeon as CD.

Not me...I thought Simeon was crude and disgusting. He was so rude to an elderly German woman  who was sailing alone on our Harmony cruise 2017 and made fun of her. I will never go to any show if Simeon is there  or on any cruise that he is a cruise director.  So thank you for giving me a heads up that he is on Symphony now.

  8. It sounds like we are going to be disappointed with the shows. Therefore, we will sit in the back with aisle seats so we can leave if they are that bad.

Are the shows also VERY loud , like they are on RC? I have to put Kleenex in my ears to drown out the noise, especially the “screechy” singers...it really does help!

I’ve done it out of FLL, getting off the celebrity constellation.

We were first in line for self debarkation, and we also have TSA precheck. Made it through security in about 10 min. Be prepared to get in the line at 6 am to get off the ship.

Whoa...6:00.....we just make sure we walk off with our luggage before the first numbers are called (before 7:30). Never had a problem making a 9:55 flight as the airport is so close and we do have TSA precheck.

  10. We take the 9:55 Southwest flight out of FLL all the time. We walk off before 7:30 and arrive at the gate well before 8:30 (we do have TSA), but the airport is so close to the port that there is no prob. Have a wonderful cruise!

Interesting Indeed.  I can see the connection, but it also seems quite a bit different in style and talent consistency, more confident.  My concern is that the most popular Samsara Cabaret video on youtube has only has 90 views.  Even Sensatia only has 6,500 views.  Maybe a bit of a local niche, but doesn't seem to have enough internet buzz to base a ship off of to draw new cruisers.  I would argue that the very people drawn to this type of performance, are the very same people that would be apprehensive about spending a week on a ship with 3,000 people.  Everything is already at their fingertips in South Beach, with better shows and amenity options.

Proof will be in the pudding.  In fact, the Edge should already be flooding with new cruisers and South Beach enthusiasts.  The inaugural Ritz Carlton Yacht cruise, will be, mark my words.

That said, I admire your passion to try new things.  I would probably prefer Samsara Cabaret to an ABBA tribute anyway,  I'm just not sure they're hitting the target.

Um....count me in on the ABBA tribute any day:)
