  1. I would never just 'stay on the ship' in Mahogany Bay- the immediate port area is enclosed (no loiterers or pushy people selling stuff, except in the shops but even then it's much better than Costa Maya or Cozumel). So I always count on MB as one of my go-to souvenir shopping places. It's clean and organized. I usually do that last, however- the free beach is great- the yellow chairs are free. We have bought the Carnival package that gives you a reserved clamshell and unlimited chair lift rides, but it's easy to just take a leisurely walk to the beach, use the free loungers and walk back at the end, do a little shopping if you like- perfect day in a nice port, IMHO. Oh and by the way, if you get off the ship after breakfast, it's so convenient that you can pop back to the ship for lunch and come back into the port! Easy peasy!
  2. They have baggies in the bathroom you can put the wipes in, then in the garbage can... if not, ask your room steward for some. DO NOT flush anything but the supplied toilet paper down! Too many horror stories about anything like that causing havoc, not just on your cabin but on the 6-8 of your nearest cabin friends! And despite what they say about them being septic-safe, my SIL the plumber says don't believe it... or do! Because plumbers & septic folks make a good living cleaning up the result. As for the RV, no way would I use wipes, since I'm the one dealing with the voiding, so to speak! Any issues would only be that much worse!
  3. @TravelBluebird we were also supposed to be on the inaugural transatlantic of Jubilee (sniff, sniff!)... we're taking Jubilee for a ride in Sep for a B2B instead! We upgraded to a suite (from what I read it's not all that much bigger than the regular room, just gets us the suite perks (LAUNDRY!). I needed that because the 4 extra days the TA would have given us would have made us Platinum for the whole cruise! So even on these B2B sailings, no plat for me! We always stay at the Towne Place hotel- love the location, easy drive to places to eat. We love the pool area. You mentioned renovations- is that at the Courtyard or both hotels? Last time we stayed at the Towne Place we noticed that it was getting a bit more run down, so hoping they've finished some of the room refreshes... We had my DD, DSIL, DGS, my hubby and me when we traveled in 2019 and we got the 2 bedroom suite in Towne Place... the sofa bed sucked but it was for my then 11 YO grandson who could sleep standing upside down in a closet if need be so no biggie, but we appreciated having the room for all of us. We had a similar problem with booking the suite- when we got to the hotel (before the kids arrived) they put us in a regular room- ummm, won't work for 5 people, folks! They also told us, sorry, no other rooms available! Finally they rearranged things so we got the suite (I guess whoever was coming in later had fewer people so they could put them in a regular room). So it all worked out in the end. We live in Florida but always sail out of Galveston because my daughter/GS are the official fur monster sitters so we drive to Austin, drop them off at her house and head down to Galveston... We'll be staying there again in September and I just found out that they have a Park & Cruise option there- indoor covered parking, $80 for a week, $120 for 2 weeks. I have no idea how I didn't know about the Park n Cruise option before now! They will help with transportation to the port, but if you have suggestions for how you're getting there, I'd love to hear about it! Have so much fun your head spins!!! I'll be following!
  4. Yes- a friend and his wife sail at least once a year on Disney… they love the adult only areas…
  5. Really!!! I didn't realize that Louisiana covered that much territory originally!
  6. DH & I both had the steak the first night… it was meh! Mostly gristle and fat. But I didn’t go hungry_. My waiter brought me more corn and guacamole. A week later we ate there again, DH had the steak again and he said it was one of the best steaks he’d ever eaten! I was disappointed I didn’t give it another chance!
  7. @Saint Greg review- seems like I just finished the last one! Oh wait- I did! looking forward to an unbiased review of those Bahamian ports…
  8. Page 5? Wow, I'm really slipping here in my 'catch the lives when they start' game! Oh well, I'm here now... Megan- have a blast! hanging out on that hammock was the best part of the whole cruise! But sushi and pizza and the filet at the Wake were all pretty awesome! I think I'm gaining weight just remembering! If you see Edel (Karaoke) tell her hi from her bracelet teacher on the TA in October!
  9. @Saint Greg thanks for this- doing a B2B on Jubilee in September for my 65th BD and I'm really looking forward to your insight on the ship, as well as the ports... unfortunately the B2B has the same ports both weeks (I just wish they'd do something different with this big girl!). Anyway, I'm here, I'm stoked, fill me with your experiences!
  10. Anyone can join but only the outrageously friendly, silly, sarcastic ones can stay! Come on over!
  11. Looking forward to this one! I miss that ship!
  12. It's from the Seafood Shack and yes, they charge you for it... not really worth it in my opinion, I prefer the lobster rolls with butter, not mayo.
  13. Takes more than that to scare off the Tribe, Sid! Following along, working for a living sucks! Can't wait til I retire and can spend all day reading Live reviews and cruising myself!!!
  14. @sid_9169 a fellow who lives in my community had to retire (forced on him- Parkinsons Disease) and struggled for a while. He always wanted to be a published author so he went that route and self-published his first couple of books... now he's doing pretty well for himself- not sure if he's getting rich on it but he makes a living and he's happy! So I say Go For It!!! I'll happily buy a copy of your first book- put the link on the Tribe here on CC and I'm pretty sure it'll sell out! Meanwhile be happy that the Ole Salt Mine allows you to cruise and spend wonderful days in glorious St Thomas!!! Enjoy your day!
  15. WAY too fragile & delicate for me- I'd break it inside 10 minutes!
  16. Hey- any of you lurkers... make sure you follow this Live Review!!!
  17. Ooh that finger on Jalen Hurts looks SOOOO painful! (am I awful that I'm hoping it impacts his throw a bit tonight??? GO BUCS!!!)
  18. As for the kerfuffle this morning over coffee, as one of the human race who DOES NOT SPEAK before coffee, anything more than pointing and grunting can set me off! Perhaps not to the point of cussing, but then again, I'm Canadian, we're too polite for that... but inside my head, I'd have been swearing like a sailor too long at sea!!! Not to worry, Sid- this too shall pass! Have a great time at the Diamond Lunch with the high muckity mucks... and Jamman & Patti of course, who are just normal people who have cruised more than any human should be allowed to, without me!
  19. Not FOMO- MOSIAC! (Missing out Sniveling in a Corner)...
  20. MOSIAC here in gloomy Ruskin Florida! It's cold (for Florida!) and cloudy... Miami looks much nicer, even though it's really only about 2 hours south of us, geographically!
  21. OK I'm now officially caught up as of embarkation starting... @pebbles1102 where are you??
