  1. Interesting comments about Tuscan Grill. I wonder how many people have enjoyed their meal? Having read the comments on earlier posts we were hesitant to go there. So in June 2017 on the Exquinox we decided to try for lunch. What a surprise. No complaints. Excellent service. Calamari looked nothing like those previously posted. We each had different items. Since we enjoyed so much will try for dinner in December and see the results. And just a note we do not frequent Olive Garden.

  2. I know a large number of Senior Officers who are regular readers of cruise critic and pay close attention to what is said about their ship. Several are registered uses and post from time to time. One Miami Suit told me that they, meaning people in Miami Offices, know my identity and read my posts. I though about changing screen name, but realized that I state what I believe to be true and really don't care if people know who I am. Arno, you know that people in Miami also know your idenitity and have made comments to you. Are they seeing what we say? A definite "yes". Do they sometimes think about what is being said? Probably "yes" as well.

     

    The Senior Officers care, but what about the Miami Suits. Don't you think it is time someone steps up to plate and comment on the new website. Namely what are they doing to correct the problem. I respect the comments Arno and you give as they are on target. I am not a unhappy person as Celebrity on board is very good product and will continue as we have 2 more booked. Just my thoughts.

  3. Tried to log on. Tells me wrong sign on. Sign on this screen and same sign on accepted. Go to access reservation and need to enter sign on again. Go to manage reservation, review cruise and then look for cruise for 2018. Logs me out. Cannot get back in for 20 minutes for security reason. Finally get back in look for Caribbean cruises and get Alaska. I would think after all the problems Queen Lisa would put some type of message out of steps being taken to correct site.

  4. Spouse and I are not heavy drinkers and we feel the premium package has been a value to us. A bloody Mary in the AM and perhaps a specialty coffee later. Maybe a coke,beer or wine at lunch. Bottled water during the day and perhaps a tropical drink in the afternoon. Then to martini bar prior to dinner for maybe two cosmos. At dinner a couple glasses of wine. On our May-June cruise the recommended wines were very good. Do not remember the names but were pleased with the red or whites. Maybe a specialty coffee after dinner. We like the freedom of choice and will continue have the package on our next booked cruises. While I did not cost out the drinks we enjoyed the convenience and that is what counts. To each his own.

  5. Any idea on size of vans or buses when booking thru Celebrity? Namely St Lucia. I have searched various sites and cannot find an answer. I do not want to be on a 50 person bus. I know private tours are very good but we have lot of OBC that we need to use. Any help or direction would be appreciated, Thank you in advance.

    We were looking for a table in the Spa Cafe and they were filled up. There were signs on the table about having the tables for the diners. There was one where they were playing cards. The manager asked them to leave because they weren't eating. The female ( don't want to say lady and was probably a condo commando) made a remark and got up and picked up a bread stick and laid it on the table ( no plate) and then looked around in defiance just wanting someone to challenge her.

     

    There should be signs stating no reading, or game playing during the dining hours.

    Sounds very typical of some of the older cruisers who just take of space and feel they are special. (And I am pushing 80) I"d toss their a***s out.

  7. I guess I am easy to please because I really don't have a problem with The Captain's Club drink menu. Vodka and tonic or appletini or a beer is more than enough to keep me happy.

    We are easy to please too, but the last 2 cruises the Captain's club has not been that pleasant. Not a friendly group. So it is off to the Martini Bar for good times. Perhaps our paths will cross someday. Larry and Karen B

  8. Need telephone number: I have a terrible cruise planner who send e-mails about cruises. She does not respond in a timely manner (if she responds). I have tried to talk with a supervisor but only get the runaround. My previous planner was excellent. When I try various telephone numbers all I get recorded messages. I do not think anyone in X wants to hear anything but praises. The customer relations number is of no help. Thank you for your help.

  9. Celebrity monitors these forums...but have yet to reply to any complaints ABOUT THE NEW WEB site......WHY !

     

    I tried to call X corporate and could get a customer service person in Kansas who basically did not want to hear about and complaints. Instead said "I will walk you thru the system". I asked what was the target gate to have the system running. Response We don't give that info. Talked about the cutbacks and the response was we added many features. Only example was "gourmet hamburgers". It appears that X is totally out of touch and does not want feedback. So why ask for your opinion. The queen and staff do not care what you think. If x cared some type of answer would be given in response to the new website. In the meantime suffer.

  10. We were on 5/5 Equinox and saw shorts, wife beater shirts and baseball caps at bars at night including Martini Bar on one Chic night around 6pm. Torn/ slashed jeans at World Class bar at night. Bars overcrowded too

     

    Celebrity and staff dont appear to enforce their own dress codes. Dont know why they dont just go all casual if this is the case

     

    We had to laugh when a manager onboard told us he felt they hadn't explained the dress codes to the "new" cruisers trying Celebrity for first time. Lame excuse [emoji849]. Staff also told us drunks had fight in MDR during dinner hours one night and security was called in to intervene.

     

    Very sad. We will be on this cruise on 5/26. We are not prudes but expect our fellow cruisers show respect. If this an indication of things to come, then count us out for future cruises. Management needs to step up to the plate. We have 2 more booked. Maybe no more if this Modern Luxury. Queen Lisa needs to move on to Carnival.

  11. Sailing in 7 days and trying to look at futures cruise to book on board. Each item I select comes up no longer available. Go to home page and login. I am already logged on. Also when I log on I get the response incorrect sign on yet I go the next page. I am using the new web site. I wonder how long this will go on. A useless web site.

  12. Leaving in 12 days. Tried to review my reservation. Went to manage reservation showed dining time but I needed more info. Then old site came up and went to booked reservation. Said try again in 20 minutes . Did this 3 times. So quit the hell with it. Modern Luxury.

  13. I guess I'm just scum since I dine at the specialty restaurants several times per cruise spend time at the Martini Bar,take excursions and purchase Items from the shops. I treat all employees with respect. I do not smooze with the officers and find the Senior Officer's hour and the elite cocktail hour a bore. As someone so eloquently stated I guess my 2 cruises a year are of no value to the Queen since I am not in a suite.

  14. We have 3 cruises booked which will probably be our last. Not the cruise line we have experienced in the past. The venues we enjoyed are gone or will be removed. Unless our next cruise excels

    we may kiss X good bye. We feel for the employees who seem to work to please the people who cruise while the Queen sits on her throne. When will new items be added to the specialty restaurant? Not $10 hamburger. I guess X wants only new people not us veterans. The value of X has not increased while the prices have increased. Missing the chocolates, animal towels or Seapass holders are not critical to us. We have many unused X bags. I expect the X loyalist to flame me.

  15. Reading all these posts, I am glad I am not Elite!! Having the drink package meets my needs and I am willing to bet I will meet more down to earth people in the other venues!

     

    Interesting remark Mixer Dave. I refer to the event as an adult show and tell. On the last cruise went twice for a short stay where we listened to cruisers pontificate about themselves. Enjoyed martini bar much more. In my opinion earlier elite venue was more friendly in the past. Just an opinion

    Just an illustration (to me) of what a ridiculous restriction I find this to be.

     

    Is the cocktail hour worth the aggravation of picking on shoes for ladies? Is this a way for Celebrity to phase out the event? With a bev package is a watered down drink worth standing in line to be inspected while shorts and tee shirts are admitted? Yes we have this happened several cruises. On our last 2 cruises we left after a short visit. Hostess was less than friendly as were most of the people. Food was not appealing. A waste of time from previous cruises. The martini bar is a more pleasant way to chat and enjoy drinks.
