  1. On one Princess ship pre-COVID, they served pies made on board. Unfortunately they weren't as good as Mrs Macs. Usually there are several different flavours available and of course, they always have hot chips available.
  2. We always go to the dining room for lunch on embarkation day.
  3. Thanks for the info. I think we will still plan to arrive earlier than 12 noon. 🙂
  4. We are cruising later this week but I cannot see any embarkation times. Last year I made notes on where to find various sections of the Medallion app, but it isn't there now. I think we will just roll up around 11am. As Elite, we should be able to board fairly soon.
  5. We are cruising on Thursday (the cruise before yours). I asked a Princess rep a while ago about boarding time and he insisted it was "any time after 11 am".
  6. Lucikly not expensive bottles of wine, but imagine the astonished look on his face when the bottles of softdrink landed on his feet.🤣
  7. My blue Princess bags crumbled and they hadn't been exposed to sun. We got a shock when the firsts one broke. My husband put some plastic bottles of soft drink in the bag and they went straight through the bottom. Since then a couple of the bags have just crumbled, even though they were inside the house. We haven't got these bags on our last few Princess cruises.
  8. We live in Brisbane. The only supermarkets in my area that have a charge to use a trolley is Aldi. Woolworths and Coles definitely don't.
  9. I agree with your comments. I often use my credit card but the only time there is a surcharge is when I book a cruise!
  10. Maybe. However this thread refers to a shuttle bus from Port Chalmers to Dunedin and Colourbird quoted Normanville's post that specifically referred to Port Chalmers.
  11. Were you going to walk from Port Chalmers to Dunedin? It is 13.4 km. At a brisk walk, that would take 3.5 hours - each way.
  12. Wow! I paid A$130 in August (including drinks). My daughter and Son-in-law were planning to book the Chef's Table when I told them it was $130. At $207 pp I don't think they will.
  13. Thank you very much. We are just finalising arrangements for our cruise next week.🙂
  14. Was this paid on the ship in AUD or was it paid in NZ currency directly to the bus driver? The last time we caught the shuttle into Dunedin we paid the driver direct.
  15. I'm in Brisbane. We don't have any flies, but there are a few mosquitos in the bush. We live in acreage so have quite a bit of bush where I am trying to eliminate the weeds that have sprung up after the rain. My particular enemy is called 'Mothers of Millions'. That gives an idea how easily they spread.
  16. We will be in Port Chalmers on a Princess ship later this month and I would like to know the cost of the shuttle bus to Dunedin. Is the cost one-way or return?
  17. I would book a domestic flight for 11am or so, but not an international flight. 2pm would be the earliest I would be comfortable with.
  18. Thanks for the info. There is no mention of a reduced price for children. Do you know if this applies?
  19. I have read conflicting info re shuttle buses from Lyttelton to Christchurch. What is the current situation for passengers on a Princess ship?
  20. I took Marion's post to mean that the kind gentleman helped her with all her bags. I hope that's the case .......
  21. When we have been on ships where there is a helicopter evacuation, they have evacuated the aft part of the ship. Of course it is as a precaution in case of an accident.
  22. Do you think Speights would have served alcohol to a 15 year old girl? In the photo in the article she appeared her age - not 15 going on 20. 🙂
