  1. Vancouver hands down. The harbor is beautiful the city is beautiful. A little more scenic entering the inside passage a little earlier than Seattle. Two cruises stopped in Vancouver, looking forward to my next visit.
  2. Feel for you guys. Four cruises, pre pandemic to this past March. 3 of them have had port changes and reduced days. Booked cruise to Alaska next year already has had Victoria BC hours reduced. Was looking forward to a new port to explore. Now it's just a few hours to get a quick look at the city.

    Juneau Dock

We have docked at both, right off the ship and right into town.
  4. Can't go wrong with either one. We did our last one from Icy Strait and it was an amazing trip
  5. Why not plan the cruise first, sit down with them find out the total cost of the cruise, then buy the correct gift card amount. Summer and holidays are the most expensive, fall are less expensive. A 3 day cruise could be filled with a lot of young people partying.
  6. Glacier Bay is a must see. Don't miss the chance to see it.

    Carnival

My first Carnival cruise was a 4 day to Nassau and back. Lots of young adults partying. Since I was a lot younger it was a great cruise. To me, a young crowd would not bother me at all either. We now only do 10 day or more cruises. We have long distances to travel and the shorter cruises go by to fast.

    Carnival

You are cutting your nose off.. Have sailed Carnival 17 times and enjoyed all of them. The 3/4 day cruises attract a young crowds.the other cruises attract a mixed age and are not a 24 hour party as people try to tag Carnival with. Basically, the longer the cruise, the age increases.
  9. Late in the season, stores are beginning to shut down. Be prepared for any kind of weather. Did Alaska in early Sept a few years ago, it rained or drizzled for most of the cruise at some time each day.
  10. These two are of my wife whale watching and Glacier Bay. Both were taken in late August (looks like middle of winter ). Heading back for our third two week journey next April. Alaska is an amazing place. Yes, expensive but well worth it.
  11. Call Guest Administration @ 1800-438-6744 Ext-7045. If someone answers the phone before you enter the extension number ask to be transferred to stockholders OBC. Good luck.
  12. There are many good hotels around the port area, but boy are they expensive right now. Check the Hotel Royal, Long Beach. It's downtown, has a good rating and reviews. Booked it last week two nights $278 total. One drawback to this hotel is there's no elevator. Suggestion, book a hotel with a no prepayment and free cancellation, then keep checking for lower prices for other hotels.
  13. One deck above the lido deck you have wonderful no obstructed views. It does get crowded. If I can figure out how to add a photo I'll post it. It's Splendor in Glacier Bay, in front of Marjorie Glacier.
  14. I go one better. Talked to two people with backpacks only on a 14 day Alaska cruise
  15. Go to the Alchemy Bar. The bartender can give you suggestions or mix up your own special drink. If you like martinis it's the place to go.
  16. With the way sales are set up, you have to be aware of what category you are, and the category you are price matching. For example, you see a $100.00 drop in price. You ask for $100.00 taken off your bill. But to do that you lose $200.00 OBC. ( just a hypothetical). Be sure you are price matching same category's. You might and might not see a price drop. If the price is good for you book it and watch for drops.
  17. Then tell me why tugs had to maneuver the Miracle into to and out of Ensenada and into Long Beach. The ship has mechanical problems.
