  1. She does, and getting some roofing repair done. The joys of owning a home.
  2. Seas are usually rougher going north on the west coast. And they have had some serious weather lately in Southern Calif. I was going to mention the seas before, but I figured since you dealt with much worse around Antarctica, that this would seem pretty calm. 😬 My daughter is in San Diego, and she says people down there are now realizing just how many roof leaks they have with all the rain. I guess it’s good for the roofing companies. Safe travels home and thank you for keeping us all updated on your journey. Very much appreciated.
  3. Glad you got one. I never did receive my Wonder block from Oct./2022 cruise. Oh well, win some, lose some. I did fill out a form on the cruise, as they were out, but it was never mailed either. Guess it won’t be now.
  4. There has been talk/ rumors about building another smaller ship. I had heard about it about a month or so ago.
  5. I don’t know if he is still open, but Gordo Leles was my go to spot to eat in Cabo. I had heard he had some medical issues. He’s just a block up from Cabo Wabo and is a cheap authentic place to get tacos. I stay away from touristy places. His little place is decorated with Beatles posters and if you’re lucky, Javier may sing for you. His place will come up on Google Maps.
  6. Unfortunately for some of us, it’s the knees that start throwing out the F Bombs after a couple of flights. 😉
  7. Is there a separate “Cheers” lunch for the 340+ days cruisers, or do they combine? Or does it just depend on the numbers? Thanks Patricia.
  8. You don’t get a board time when fill out the info online. But if you are one of the earliest check in times, there may a slight wait before you board. But if you choose a check in time after the ship has started boarding, you will walk right on.
  9. I think I read the price was lowered to $39 for port days, and maybe a bit more for sea days. No more $90. I read it elsewhere, so maybe someone can check that’s on board.
  10. I agree, and for those that don’t have to fly, it’s a good way to build up points. Some people in Florida do the same short cruises over and over to the same destinations.
  11. I saw a couple of YouTube videos that said MP was cancelled, but not sure if it was all groups cancelled, meaning Royal excursions, independent.
  12. There is a refundable choice (more expensive), but you have to go through the booking page, filling out traveler info, and the last page will offer things like prepaid gratuities, dining, refundable fare, etc. Suites are non refundable. If you cancel on an NR fare, you lose $100pp, and the rest will be held for another booking. If you choose not to rebook another cruise, you lose full deposit.
  13. Many have had luck (I know 2 personal situations) going to dining room about 6-6:15 and seeing if you can be seated. They backfill empty tables from early traditional. They don’t have a separate dining room anymore.
  14. I never take my picture beforehand, since they seem to always retake at the port. It’s not mandatory.
  15. I have sailed the Ovation numerous times and there were always kettles in the cabin. Last year coming from Australia (B5B), they were on the first 3 legs until we got to Hawaii and they started removing them. My stewardess left mine since I was on for 2 more legs and I asked. It seems like such a waste of time to remove and put back depending on where they’re sailing to and from.
  16. Yes, this is the best way. You will share one login, but both of you can be logged in at the same time.
  17. If only the Seattle-Yokohama was leaving just a few days earlier. I’m on the Carnival Panorama Singapore-Long Beach on Oct 12 and would have definitely booked the Seattle-Yokohama and then flown to Singapore. A lot shorter flight.
  18. He is a she. That’s right, a female golden retriever named Rover is now living on board Icon of the Seas. In a short video posted on Royal Caribbean’s social media channels, the line introduced Rover as “everyone’s favorite new crew member” and “family dog” of Icon of the Seas.
  19. I’m a solo traveler and never eat in the MDR. When I eat, I like to be left alone and control my portions. I always find something I like in the Jammer, and if I want to try something new, I can just take a little bit and not waste a lot. I can eat quickly and be off to do other things. I have noticed it’s starting to get more crowded, and sometimes it can be a game of dodging other humans while getting food, but I usually go when it first opens for dinner, so it’s not to bad.
  20. If you go to the website, the cruise does not come up. If you are talking about Quantum, the cruise is cancelled for everyone. Even if the reps try to book it, it will not go through.
  21. I think that sail date is same as Ovation….weird. I see nothing coming up for Quantum on Royal website for Oct/2024.
