  1. THIS!! I was on Summit 2/29-3/7 and have had received zero notification. I just found this on social media today. I went to work all last week. I am not sick and not overly worried about getting it from the cruise....but notification seems essential at this point!
  2. I just got off Summit yesterday. There was one live dealer Texas Holdem table but I only saw it going (have enough players) a few times. So bring some poker playing friends or maybe be on a cruise with a younger demographic then the one I just got off of (Spring break should be more lively) if you want to play I do play live poker at a local casino -but the rake on a ship is just ridiculous so never signed up to play. The house advantage on the slot/VP games I play is terrible too....but at least I'm earning points towards my next cruise ;o)
  3. Thank you MKelly great review! I'm excited for next week!
  4. There is a casino onboard. I am a gambler and client of URComped and they are offering comped Virgin cruises. I'm waiting to let a few months go by and see how others like it before deciding if it's something I'm interested in. If I lived in FL or close by I'd be going for sure.....but having to fly from CA the itineraries are a bit underwhelming.
  5. Ms411- at the port getting off the ship most of the taxis will be the big open air taxis? We are a party of 6 wanting to go to Sapphire Beach for the day. Will we be waiting around until they fill the taxi completely (they look bigger then holding 6 from photos) of should a party of 6 be good to go? Is it a taxi line like many carib ports? $11 per person each way is what I'm reading for a fare to Sapphire? Then $9/lounger and $20 ( 😮 ) per umbrella (hoping for some natural shade to be available) Thanks for any info! 16 days until we will be there!! 🐵 Trish
  6. Brnsofia and Mkelly just wondering how this tour went? We have this booked 3/5. How many people in your tour group? Did Stan do the tour himself? Did you like the island? thanks Trish
  7. We will be back on the 7th and I'll try to remember to come comment after that. If you are going in March though you may want to get this booked based on other reviews you can find on here. I do believe they sell out some days as it is a private run tour with only so many spots. I found lots of great reviews before booking on here and tripadvisor
  8. Thank you for posting this! We have him booked for our day in Dominica 3/3 and am always glad to see good reviews!
  9. Mike, was the VP Super Star machines (multiple game type) or single line games? that is a bummer only one row of 6 machines :o(
  10. I snorkeled there in Oct with my own gear and no vest. No issues. I wasn't overly impressed by the snorkeling. Went out by where the people paying to do a snorkel tour were and didn't see much (too crowded I think in that area) There are a few floating platform lifeguard station things and under those I saw some stingrays and one turtle. By the rocks closer into shore were more schools of fish but not very colorful.
  11. Kim, glad it is going better and you are able to walk with a boot or barefoot. Sorry about your knee hope that pain goes away! Hope you get to be planning your next cruise soon! I've been reading some of your reviews for my next cruise and as always they are helpful. Have a Happy Thanksgiving! Trish
  12. I am having that problem on cruisett also. Another way to do it is to pick your ship (from the tool bar on their site) and then look at the ports by date that way. Although they have our first port wrong when i look up our cruise that way
  13. Thanks all for all the great information. We have decided to make Sapphire our beach day in St Thomas. WE don't go until Feb 20 but I will try to remember to come back and report on how it was. Ordered some Doodles from amazon 🐵 thanks for the recommendation BlueWater
  14. ok sorry 1 more question. So it sounds like there is tree shaded area that can be used. Can you take a rented lounger and move it into the shaded area? I just have 2 people in my group that are going to be very unhappy if there is not a shaded area to sit so trying to verify there is before suggesting this beach to my group. Thanks! We are the only boat in port that day if that is any help for info (I'd think the beach might not be too terribly crowded)
  15. Thank you both for the information! Does anyone know if it is possible to rent umbrellas to go along with the loungers (we have some skin cancer/fair skinned folks in our group) Loungers are rented from the beach bar area? If we take a taxi from the dock just saying "Sapphire Beach" is good or is there a name of the bar area we should asked to be dropped off at? We are on Celebrity Summit and appear to be the only ship in port that day (3/1/20) We are not rush off the boat kind of people (hate the mass crowds at breakfast!) so will there be taxi's still available 10-10:30am-ish? (I'm assuming yes) It's a Sunday though so any problem with that? Also when leaving from Sapphire beach are there usually taxi's waiting to take you back to the ship or the bar can call one for us or?? So from what I'm getting on snorkeling far right rocky area out a ways for the best fish viewing. You mentions sea-grass to the left...any chance for turtles over there? Thanks so much for any answers. oh one question about the Doodles- are the reusable? they un-inflate fairly easily and go back in the beach bag or are they a toss after use kinda thing
