Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Sorry, I don't have the guides info, that's why I asked.
  2. Thank so much for the links to your posts. I will definitely be reviewing them in depth. We will be going on a cruise next year that goes around Japan for 14 days (Yokohama to Yokohama) and the second leg goes to Vancouver. The 1st leg goes to Kobe for one day. We will also be in Yokohama for a day between the two legs. I've been to Japan before but it was for work and it's been many, many years. I remember loving Kyoto so we're trying to figure out whether to spend our two days before the cruise in Kyoto or Tokyo. We found direct flights to Osaka so it's not much harder to get to Kyoto than Tokyo. If we went to Kyoto before the cruise then we were thinking we might see Nara & Osaka when docked in Kobe. That would give us one day to see Tokyo when docked in Yokohama. The other option of going to Tokyo before the cruise, we'd have a total of 3 days in Tokyo and we'd see Kyoto when in Kobe. What would you recommend? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Carol
  3. Your Tokyo guide sounds wonderful. Do you remember who it is and/or do you have his contact information?
  4. This it's great information! Thanks so much for both of your posts!!!
  5. We saw a "Myth Buster" TV show that tested many sea sickness prevention options. They determined that ginger worked the best. My husband and I are very prone to sea sickness and they work fabulously on all our cruises, driving the Amalfi Coast in Italy, Disneyland, etc. We get the capsules in the vitamin section of the drug store.
  6. There is a post under Silversea regarding their upcoming Japan cruises that I recommend you check out. Someone posted that you can only get group visas and they couldn't get those because Japan isn't allowing cruises into their ports due to COVID. Silverseas notified them last night that their upcoming Japan cruises (starting Sept 1, 2022) are cancelled. I wish you luck!
  7. We recently went on a transatlantic cruise and took 5 small group tours in the Spain ports visited. We also took a wonderful semi-private tour from Madrid to Avila to Segovia. We highly recommend this company. Their communications before our trip and all the guides were great.
