  1. Assuming your luggage isn't too bad, you are better off walking to the LAX-it lot, which is next door to Terminal 1. Terminal 1/LAX-it
  2. Directly across the street from the cruise port is a liquor store called Harbor Market. It is fairly new and part of the new hotel complex (Marriott & Intercontinental).
  3. Uh yeah.... they asked the question in August and don't sail until May, so hopefully they've figured it out by now.
  4. It ain't the heat, it's the humidity that makes you miserable. My parents had a home in Puerto Vallarta for years and they never went before Halloween usually, or after mid-May.
  5. Agreed the FS is by far the best, but if the FS is $600 a night while The Fairmont Olympic, Hyatt at Olive 8, The Edgewater, The Theodore, The State, Inn at the Market, Thompson, etc are coming in at or under $300, or even $400, I'd have a hard time justifying the cost different; too much Scots in me.
  6. Things are a bit easier in San Diego; the USS Midway is next door to the cruise port, Coronado across the bay, Balboa Park with the SD Zoo and 15 or 16 museums is just a couple miles away. LA is a lot harder because of the sheer size and the number of ideas possible. It will depend on what interests you and maybe which port (San Pedro or Long Beach) you stop in.
  7. The growth of Puerto Penasco has been stunning. I remember parking on the beach in my uncle's RV 50 some years ago for the first time there. I hope the cruise is successful too.
  8. Not necessarily a meal, but cocktails at the House Without A Key. If you can look past some of the cheesy parts, this is a good video showing the setting.
  9. There have been big changes at LAX for Uber, I'd look into Uber Black on arrival. It would be worth the extra. Uber XL on the return should be fine.
  10. NMUSD August 24; Long Beach USD August 24, Saddleback USD August 17; LAUSD, August 18; Anaheim UHSD August 7 and Santa Ana USD August 10. PS it's not just which district, but also which ones are affluent enough for cruise vacation.
  11. Look at the map here, you can see the airport and cruise terminal. They are barely 2 miles apart.
  12. Assuming you are off the ship by 9AM, SNA is fine. It's a small airport
  13. Halekulani is the best hotel, but Garden View rooms start at $555, before taxes so I seldom mention it unless someone asks about "the best". The restaurant is the House Without A Key and Lewers Lounge is the jazz bar, but be aware it has a dress code.
  14. BART has a $4.55 surcharge on all trips originating at SFO. That is why it is so much more. Do note the surcharge on trips originating at SFO, not ending.
  15. What is in Wahiawa that you want to visit? I'd for sure Uber there and try to Uber back.
