  1. That would be what any logical person would assume, but unless the person you talked with actually checked, I would not take that as gospel. I can 99.3% guarantee you the PCC isn't open on a Sunday.
  2. Yes, pretty sure they insist on shoes AND shirts.....

Kona Coffee & Tea is just under a 1/2 mile from the pier, Island Lava Java is south of the pier maybe 1/2 a mile, Starbucks is a little closer, and I'd be willing to bet that even Long's Drug might have 100% Kona Coffee.
  4. No, the driver will know what Kiahuna Beach Park is and it makes more sense driving the extra 200 feet to the KPB parking area rather than walking through the Sheraton. Here is the parking lot.
  5. Lawai is in the Poipu area, but it's different from Poipu Beach, which is one of several beaches in the Poipu area. I'd have an Uber take me to Kiahuna Beach, next to the Sheraton Kauai.
  6. Basically all beaches in Hawaii are public. The only exception would be a military installation. You can also go into any hotel to eat and drink. There are no private hotels in HI.
  7. Best or cheapest? Just two people? If you are patient and can tolerate delays, SuperShuttle shared van is inexpensive. Personally, I'd use Uber. My next choice would be a private van like Zippy or Karmel.
  8. Will you make an 11AM flight from BUR on a Thursday? I'd say no way reliably. It COULD happen if the stars aligned, but I never count on star alignment when traveling.
  9. Look at the link in my previous post. It is a rather easy walk. I drop the family off with the luggage, then park. When we arrive back, I go get the car once the luggage is assembled. It is very easy.
  10. Assuming you are talking about the Days Inn Torrance, it is fine. If you want cheap and don't mind slow, use SuperShuttle from LAX to Torrance. I think a shared ride is $17 a person.
  11. You might have to walk to this point (click the hyperlink). Or if the hubby can show the guard his passenger ID he may get to this point. In any case, it seems easier than getting an Uber for 6.
  12. Taking Uber is fine, but I'd just send one person. It is literally 5 minutes to the airport. You'll spend more time getting six people in and out of an Uber than just sending one person to get it. See the map here.
  13. If you are a member of the loyalty club of the company you are renting from, it could be as fast as 20 minutes. If you aren't a loyalty club and you get there as a flight or two arrives it could be more than an hour, much more actually.
  14. If you are getting a good deal that includes parking and you are coming down the day before, I'd stick with the Crowne Plaza. The area is fine (on a par with Cathedral City imho) and there are some good spots to eat. I read a couple of the reviews in TA (I chose 2* reviews) and they cracked me up. One person was shocked they paid so much ($150), which is pretty cheap in LA, one was shocked it was so far from "LA" (really, you didn't look at location before you booked?) and one had stayed there "several times before with no issues", but this time..... Of course that person didn't give good reviews for all the previous stays, no this was their first review of the Crowne Plaza. So yeah.... I'd stick with the CP. I like the Hyatt Centric and Hyatt Regency in Long Beach, but unless you are cruising Carnival or going for a couple of days, there is really no reason to stay in LB.
