  1. What is the other one? I'm torn between priority tendering and the minibar. Priority boarding is also nice, and I enjoyed the 10% off on shore excursions on my last cruise--but I'm not planning on taking any Princess excursions on my next.
  2. I don't see anywhere to book Princess Plus after booking the cruise. I do know that sometimes it is less expensive to book the drink package separately. Princess Plus is now regularly priced at $50 per person per day, but sometimes the price is more. On my upcoming cruise, it was going to be $56.25. I decided not to get it. I will have enough onboard credit to cover my daily gratuities and 2-3 drinks a day.
  3. And the Caribe Deck will be closer to the water for viewing otters.
  4. The cheapest way to get to Canada Place from the airport is the Skytrain. That's currently $9.25 (Canadian--about $7 U.S.) But with your circumstances of an afternoon arrival, I'd go with the Princes transfer. I'm also risking a day-of flight for my upcoming cruise. I hope Princess lives up to its late-arrival protection if my flight doesn't make it in time.
  5. Thanks. My travel summary says to meet the Princess rep at the luggage claims area. So I guess I can hope someone will be there that early since Princess booked me on that flight. The American Airlines website says they use Terminal B. And the LaGuardia website listed some places to eat before going through security--or, in my case, after exiting from the secured area. The travel summary also says it can take from 75 to 100 minutes for travel time from the airport to the pier. I don't remember it taking so long when we disembarked from a transatlantic cruise and took the Princess shuttle to LaGuardia.
  6. I have not heard back from Princess regarding a complaint mailed in January. I still booked another cruise. And I'll probably complain on a live thread and the Facebook pages about little things that go wrong on it--and yet still overall have a great time. My major complaint before my last cruise was the amount of onboard credit decreased by $125 from what one rep sent me in a confirmation (and the nine different representatives I talked to and the nine hours I spent on the phone, mostly on hold, one day before getting a representative capable of somewhat completing my request). One of those reps, though, came through regarding my being charged for a drink I did not order on my December cruise, giving me a $25 onboard credit for it. The little complaints on the last cruise don't add up to much other than a bit of frustration. I had Princess Plus but got charged for several drinks. It took three trips to passenger services to get this corrected. I asked my cabin steward about the Elite bathroom amenities. He said they only had the sisal mitt and shower caps available. The people next door in a suite said they had much more, but I never found out exactly what they received. The International Café ran out of the type of tea I liked after the first day. For formal nights, they automatically delivered tasteless cream puffs instead of giving us an order form the day before for canapés. They were out of Courvoisier for the minibar and just decided not to replace those two bottles with anything. Passenger services sent me two mini bottles of Scotch so that I had my full complement after one of my trips to get the erroneous charges removed from my account. (On the Majestic in August, they gave me eight bottles of vodka because they were out of the other mini bottles.) The food and service were great on the Regal. Even before the pandemic, ships had internet problems. Back then, though, it tended to be one ship having particular problems. Now it seems to be every ship. I got a partial refund on one of our transatlantics because of how bad the internet was. I'm already prepared to ask for a refund on my next cruise if it's not up to speed.
  7. My flight, booked through EZair, is scheduled to arrive at LaGuardia around 7:30 a.m. What time do the Princess reps start working? And what time do you think the earliest shuttle bus to the port will be? I'm assuming I'll have a couple of hours to kill at the airport. Any good places to hang out after picking up my checked luggage?
  8. What I don't understand is why Princess is still listing the original itinerary for the August cruises. It's obvious that the ship will not be fixed before the drydock in October. The itinerary for the cruises in June and July show a 4 p.m. arrival in Juneau, the addition of Icy Strait Point the evening after Glacier Bay, and the cancellation of Ketchikan.
  9. Thanks. This will be my eighth cruise on the Caribbean Princess. When it was first launched, I said I never wanted to sail on a ship that large. The extra deck of passenger cabins without adding any more public space seemed crazy. I heard that on the Greenland itinerary, the crowding can feel even worse because people are not using the outdoor areas as much as they would on a warm weather itinerary. I'm doing my part to ease the crowding by going solo.
  10. I booked my August cruise through a large internet travel company that was having a 3-day sale last week. The price was the same as I would have gotten booking directly with Princess, but my booking also came with $360 in onboard credit. I get an additional $75 for using a future cruise deposit, and now I'm waiting for my $250 shareholder credit to appear. Several different agencies quoted prices to me. Some were crazy--much higher than I could get booking directly. A couple of them were the same as on the Princess website. Others saved between 5% and 8% over the cost of booking with Princess, including any associated onboard credit.
  11. When we went on the Caribbean Princess several years ago, tendering was not too big a deal. It helped that we had priority tendering. The worst place was Guernsey. I heard several people who waited more than 2 hours to catch a tender back to the ship. Fortunately, we left the island before there was much of a wait. The only other place we tendered was in South Queensferry for Edinburgh.
  12. The steps PacnGoNow writes about are on the app. I don't see it on the online Cruise Personalizer anymore.
  13. No. The Caribbean Princess (CB) started with an extra deck of passenger cabins without any added public space from the beginning. They have not added any additional cabins. I just booked the August cruise to Greenland. I'll be sure to pack patience and try to pack understanding for those who forget to.
  14. My brother and sister-in-law spent the day in Atlanta earlier this month because Delta canceled their direct flight to New York. Fortunately they were flying in two days before their cruise. They should have gotten to their hotel before noon and had time to leave their bags at the hotel (if checking in was not possible because it was too early) to explore the city. They ended up getting to the hotel at midnight instead.
  15. And you'll have all day Saturday to explore Seattle. I went to a Mariners game several years ago--during Ichiro's first or second season with the team. I always like to check the schedule whenever I'm going to be in a MLB city--and I'm not a big follower of baseball.
  16. When booking EZair, we've been able to see how long between connecting flights. I remember once going with a different flight that was slightly more expensive because it gave us time between flights in Toronto (on the way to London). Our flights to London and home from New York (after a transatlantic cruise) were $379.30 per person. Booking them on my own would have been over $1,000 per person.
  17. It should have been in Skagway on Tuesday. I haven't seen anything here or on Facebook saying it did not make it.
  18. I have enjoyed the reduced single supplements Princess has had. My cruise to Greenland in August had one of 10%. Back in February, there were some with with negative single supplements like you're seeing. The November cruise you mention doesn't come up with a negative single supplement when I look at it but it's still a good rate--$714 for solo versus $649 double occupancy. At these prices, it would pay for a couple to book two separate rooms: a balcony for $1,649 for one plus an inside for one at $714 comes out cheaper than $1,499 times two. They'll each get double cruise credits and could still sleep in the balcony cabin together. If they're already Elite, they'd both get minibars for their solo cabins.
  19. I agree. Princess knows that it will have to alter the itineraries in August yet is still listing the original ports of call and times--arrival in Juneau at noon and Ketchikan included. There's no miraculous cure that will fix the ship between now and then.
  20. In December, there were several passengers who joined the ship in Cozumel because they missed it in Fort Lauderdale. I saw the group of them boarding. On my February cruise, several people missed the ship due to airline delays and cancellations. On our rollcall thread, some of them said that initially EZair was going to book them to catch up with the ship in Costa Maya with flights through Mexico City. EZair later said that Covid restrictions would prevent that from happening.
  21. If Princess was smart, there's an easy solution: give the OP their original cabin back and upgrade the new people.
  22. On one of my visits to Skagway, I rented a bike. It was a great ride along Dyea Road. Last time, I hiked a little bit to Yakutania Point. There's a pedestrian bridge over the water near the airport that leads to trails. You could also walk to the Gold Rush Cemetery and Lower Reid Falls. There's a scenic overlook on Dyea Road not far from them. I enjoyed a tasting flight at the Skagway Brewing Company after my hike last time .
  23. And even if one person does not drink alcohol, they could still drink the specialty coffees, soft drinks, bottles of water, and mocktails.
  24. The OBC from my TA showed up immediately. I'm still waiting for my shareholder OBC. I hear it's currently taking at least a couple of weeks for that to post.
  25. I don't know of any who were seriously sick. Symptoms included fever, sore throat, stuffiness, coughing, loss of sense of smell and taste, and achiness. I don't know anyone in these groups who had to be hospitalized.
