  1. One could “say” that about a lot of things, but there is absolutely so many areas where this is true! Personally, I enjoy being in this percentile for many excellent reasons, not just because of foot stools or loungers🥰. After all, this thread means nothing to you, so no need to apply your own statistics unless you want a reaction...you’ve got it! We are not looking for sympathy, just our foot stools and loungers, so please, out of common courtesy, allow us to have our say on Cruise Critic without labeling us a sympathy-seekers. I get it; since these are not important to you, criticizing those of us who enjoy these items makes you feel...?
  2. I have searched for these to, but never found one for a cruise I wanted to book. I cannot imagine why customers with this choice would book NRD instead of RFD.
  3. No, it does not work for a suite!
  4. You can always go NRD, pay $900 and insure that amount, thus keeping intact the pre-existing waiver; however, you only have a certain amount of days to get insurance after you put down your deposit, 10-15 days in many cases. This is what I do because my plan is always to take the cruise unless one of us is ill or has an accident. I pay for the rest of my cruise at 90 days or so, but only after I have added the cost(minus taxes, port fees and (anything else that does not need to be covered like gratuities etc). Unfortunately, we have all been governed by those who made lots of bookings just in case they decided to go, tying up many cabins/suites for extended periods of time. These people never realize, or for that matter care how they hurt the rest of us and never will. Of course, you can decide to book another cruise line where the fee for canceling is not so great. I did this with Oceania when I could still receive a full refund months before the cruise. However, you can still become ill after the 90 days, so frame this with total understanding of what can happen. Like everything, read the fine print.
  5. @TGfromTX I am glad that Celebrity is working with people instead of the “No” that I kept getting many months ago. Actually, Celebrity even refunded me the $200 that I was owed from the end of January! Your news makes me feel that just maybe Celebrity is listening!
  6. I keep looking at food’ photos and see nothing enticing. Maybe that’s a good thing, but my next cruise will tell the story. Just because I’m paying for it doesn’t mean I have to eat it. Of course, when it comes to my caramel macchiato’s, my gut says to have one🤷‍♀️. Pricing only seems high if you do not enjoy the meal. Eden’s dinner for us resulted in the money being returned to our OBC which is not the norm, as usually everyone raves about it. Our waiter just was not having a good night because he spent all his time with a big table, resulting in rushed service and uncooked food.
  7. Certainly there is information not being shared whatever the reason; hopefully, it will be forthcoming(or maybe not), however, if Celebrity is losing bookings, I guess it just doesn’t matter enough until it does. There is always a way to get your own, especially if you see these on a balcony like yours, but always ask first and see what happens. The lounger and Celebrity’s answer to this all important question...yes, no, maybe, or all three🤷‍♀️ ~A little secrecy may be needed!
  8. Us too...I wonder what the excursion details were in writing that led her to book this excursion in the first place. Hopefully, people learn from their mistakes!
  9. We are staying in the Brickell area again for our Oceania cruise to Portugal. since we will be driving to a resort in Algarve, there is no need for us to spend such high prices for two nights.
  10. Unfortunately, I read a post on social media that shared an excursion by Celebrity. The author, Julie, shared that their bus excursion took them to a beach without any chairs or loungers. It was just a beach excursion that was shared with homeless people living there. The ship was Ascent on the island of Sardinia, I believe.
  11. 1. So, I paid for my cruise with a lounger, but received a time share with little or no availability? 2. Are some passengers using loungers in an inappropriate way, breaking door walls/sliders? 3. What is happening to those who use a lounger or foot stool as a weapon of glass destruction?
  12. I was thinking the same thing, but my DH would not go without me due to being his fav vacay planner🤗!
  13. Those prices sure do look very reasonable. We had an SV and moved to a sky suite for $1500 total, which was a great deal on Apex...that was our bid, $750 pp. How many days and what is the itinerary? did you both pay the exact same price for your SV’s?
  14. So, if you have been in the Retreat, along with AQ and if you can find a cabin location with a larger balcony, or in a better area, $200 is not going to make any difference!
  15. Yes! Been on Beyond in Europe twice and once in the Caribbean...Beyond is exiled there now!
  16. GP...Georgia_Peaches, Were any of your free veranda cruises outside the Caribbean? Asking for a friend🤩! I understand the one and done. We did the cruise tour; it was okay, but I am not a big bus tour person and was less than excited about waiting for the same individuals who could never make it back on time, or even a few minutes late. Totally my fault for booking this, as I knew better!
  17. We also are transplants from Royal, but moved to Celebrity when we began to cruise to Europe many years ago. Celebrity was our choice and we loved it, but like all things, we decided to try Oceania where we have no status, no inhibitions, along with a perfect itinerary. We still gets lots of free laundry, but are just plain newbies going incognito, on a TA to Europe, to visit a bucket list place...🤷‍♀️
  18. This is exactly where this 10, 10, 10 culture is originating! Imagine working at a job where this is held over your head, making you crazy, not to mention causing continual stress...😩
  19. He definitely needs AI; at the very least, it would provide some better information😝
  20. There is no way to predict this, but we used a private driver for a 10:00 flight with United. Even though we were a little late getting off the ship due to customs for some, we had plenty of time. However, we realized that it was a risk, but have two flights to get home. FWIW
  21. I hope that everything works out for her and you too. Sending out lots of positive energy for an easy rather than complicated result!
  22. I always love the newest ship(Ascent), in a Villa on a TA, with 3,000 OBC. The ports would be in Funchal, Canary Islands, Morocco, Mallorca, Malta and Greece/Athens. I would pay for my stay in Greece, visiting Corfu and Zakynthos. Of course, I would fly back biz class on Celebrity’s dime instead of mine...my alarm just went off, so time to get up...😂
  23. We actually got off the ship’s tender and walked past the furnicular to the boat that was taking people to Oia, purchased our tickets and enjoyed the lovely scenery on the way. This also included a choice of times to return by bus. This was our third time visiting, so sometimes the third time is the charm. We were on the first or second tender with only 15 or so people on the boat. Getting there early allowed for some great photos, shopping and time for a snack. We took an earlier bus back, missing the crowds and enjoying a very short line for the funicular down where a tender was waiting. The total island tour was too long, not to mention we saw so many homes in progress that were just left unfinished, not to mention the long lunch. Personally, I love simple! Just thought I’d share this for anyone who can get an early tender. I actually tried to everything by boat, but my research at that time never found that type of excursion🤷‍♀️.
