  1. I had one of these. The ice cream was not gelato and the brownie was stale. There were a couple of cheap lollipops stuck in the ice cream and chocolate sauce making the lollipop stick sticky, if I wanted to eat it, I would not be able to without de-stickifying it. I wouldn’t eat one per cruise now, and would never eat two per day. I think this is a non-benefit benefit.
  2. Yes, since you have the plus package, room service and ocean now (app ordering via your phone) is included. You should not be charged for room service and you should not be charged the ocean now activation fee. Only those who book standard fare (no package) will be charged 14.99 for ocean now activation and $5.00 per room service order. That is how I read it.
  3. Yes, that has happened to me as well (heavy Ocean Now user). I can't understand why that would happen either, and I always wonder if someone else is enjoying our drinks or if they were just too busy and clicked "delivered" because they didn't have the staff to deliver it. Or maybe it's a technical glitch. Either way, it shouldn't happen. I'm a big fan of Ocean Now and really do think it's a game changer, but it has to work. It's been around for a while now and I expect anything that was just growing pains should be over by now. I hope they don't give up on it. I should also add that I do use Ocean Now a lot -- at least twice a day, and most times our orders are delivered correctly and in a timely fashion. When it works, it's great.
  4. Re Ocean Now and drink orders getting cancelled: Not saying this is the cause of every cancellation because it definitely isn't, but sometimes it is. Once you place your order (ie add to basket, then click on basket and place order), while that order is still in the queue (ie no one has started to make it yet) there is the option to cancel it. The option to cancel is a bar at the bottom of your phone, which can accidentally be clicked on if you put had put your phone down after ordering and then go and pick it up. I did that several times myself on my first Medallion cruise. I have also had orders cancelled by someone other than me -- I can only assume the bar (or room service) where the drinks would be coming from, and I do not understand why that happens. Extremely annoying I agree.
  5. We always take a dollar store pop up laundry hamper. And I bought an eyeglass repair kit (also from the dollar store) many years ago, and also take that every time. I haven't had to use it in 15 years, but I am prepared in case I need it :)
  6. Ah, thanks Memoak 🙂 That explains why it didn’t work for me. Anyone know if I can buy just one or two days, mid cruise? Ah, so I would need to tap each day I want to participate? Or, once I tap the screen, I’m now in for the rest of the cruise?

  8. Thanks, Voljeep :) How did you add the Prizes only component? Did you have to go to the Casino or Guest Services to add it?
  9. Wondering if anyone knows if it's possible to buy just the Prizes component (not the whole Premier package)? On my last cruise I tried tapping the Prizes icon on the screen at my stateroom door and nothing happened. ?. If it's possible, how does one add just the Prizes component of the Premier package? Where do I go to do that? The casino? Guest services? Is it $20 per day for the Prizes component (think I have read that a few times). And, if it is possible, can you add it at any time? On Day 1 or Day 5 or Day 9? Can you select just one or two days, or are you in for all once you choose this option? Thanks
  10. We have the $50 package and also won our bid for our upcoming cruise. There was no additional charge and my account still shows the $50 plus package.
  11. For me, Ocean Now is a game changer; I absolutely love it. I don't like to wait in line, and with Ocean Now I no longer need to. I think it's the best thing any cruise line has implemented ever! I have had every one of the problems with it that other posters have mentioned, and even still, it's not enough to make me dislike it. If my order says "delivered" when it wasn't, I just order again. Never even remotely tempted to go directly to a bar to get a drink or go to the International Cafe to pick up a coffee. I really appreciate service, and I'd rather wait for my drink sitting down than standing in a line. Really, really hate lines ;) And you can get food delivered! No making my way up to the pool deck to get tome french fries only to discover a really long line to get them. No other cruise line does this that I am aware of, and for me, it really sets Princess apart. I hope they never get rid of it.
  12. My husband and I use the Locate Shipmates feature all the time and it works very well in our experience. Absolutely love this feature.
  13. Jamie, re: the room service coffee and not getting sugar. I have found that it's much better to use Ocean Now (via the medallion app, over regular room service) to order coffee to the stateroom in the morning. Why? When you use your medallion app to order Ocean Now, you can choose your coffee type and then scroll way down to the sweetener section, it gives you options for type of milk, temperature and number of sugar packets (brown or white) or other sweeteners. In fact, getting a latte delivered to my room, extra hot, three sugars (don't judge) is so unbelievably awesome to me that it really puts a gold star in the Princess column. I only ever ordered coffee via the Ocean Now app, and I found it came in a reasonable amount of time. Plus, you can get a latte or an Americano, which is much better than regular room service coffee I think. If you have been ordering through the app already, and have had this rotten luck, I have found it seems to take a couple days for the whole system to work. I don't know why, but eventually it does work and things show up as ordered. I do recommend giving it one more chance. You can also order drinks to your room the same way (via Ocean Now) -- so great when you are getting ready for dinner!. The list is not exhaustive, but if you like frozen drinks, I can recommend the Dirty Banana --yum!
  14. In another thread, someone posted that princess is sailing from Brooklyn
  15. Thanks for the info everyone. As I said I am pretty new to Princess casinos. I sailed mostly with NCL on casino discounts before and if I recall correctly, I think you used to get whatever current promo was going with NCL when booking the casino rate. But every cruise line is different and it's good to know the rules of each one.
  16. I just booked a casino offer - was free interior and some free play, but no Princess Plus. So, I paid to add Princess Plus. But I was surprised when the agent told me that the 100 Shore excursion OBC promo was not included. Has anyone else booking a casino comp received that OBC? I am pretty new to Princess casino bookings, so am wondering if this is the way it usually is, with no extra bonuses included with casino comp bookings, even if booking with the plus package.
  17. Question for all you experienced free cabin from the casino bookers. I understand that Princess Casino charges a set fee for upgrading (we were offered a free inside, and as I read posts, it's a set price from the casino, not based on current market price to upgrade). Am I understanding that correctly? And, if that's correct, do they just charge one upgrade price per category, so an upgrade to oceanview would be the same price whether it was an obstructed ocean view , a regular oceanview, or a premium oceanview, or do they break it down further into those groups (ie obstructed OV is a different price to upgrade to than a regular ov?. Thanks so much if you can help!
  18. Arg! I am sorry -- I stand corrected. Will try to have my inaccurate posts removed. The "if you are entering by land, air or water" does not apply to cruise ships.

  20. From the Gov of Canada website: If you have no smartphone or are taking a short trip Within 72 hours of your arrival in Canada or before taking a short trip outside Canada, you can sign in to ArriveCAN from a computer to get your ArriveCAN receipt. Print your receipt and take it with you when you travel. You can also have someone submit your travel information on your behalf. Looks like a yes! You can print it from a desktop.
  21. If you are required to test before boarding a ship, I would assume that is a ship requirement. It's not an entry to Canada requirement. They dropped this testing fairly recently. When we flew back to Canada in November, 2021, we had to test before boarding the flight, and had to show the negative test results at air Canada checkin in. Then, when we arrived, we were also selected for random testing, so we had to test again, at the Toronto airport. The random testing is still in effect, so cross fingers and t0es when arriving in Canada! The mandatory testing before entering Canada isn't. For now anyway -- huge eyeroll.
  22. Sure, here you go: https://travel.gc.ca/travel-covid/travel-restrictions/covid-vaccinated-travellers-entering-canada
  23. If you are vaxxed and boosted, I don't think you need to test (any longer -- fairly recent change I think) to enter Canada. The cruise line may require it, however. (From Government of Canada website:) Pre-entry testing is not required Pre-entry tests are not required for fully vaccinated travellers entering Canada by land, air or water. You must still use ArriveCAN within 72 hours before your arrival to Canada. Unvaccinated and partially vaccinated children under the age of 12 are not required to provide a valid pre-entry test result, if they are accompanying a fully vaccinated adult. Children who are less than 5 years old are not required to test, regardless of their vaccination status.
  24. My pleasure. Happy to help. :)
  25. Haha yes! And that's me too! I am glad to hear it's as good as their Eurofins guide was. Great news!
