  1. Just saw your post. Yes, the email we received in December was for changes from March 20 on, with the 3 day Dubai loop you mention. Is there a rumour this is a charter segment? The website shows a 38 night cruise starting Feb 28 that includes the 3 night Dubai loop.
  2. We are on the Grand Voyage and received the revised itinerary from March 20 to the end of the cruise. We admit reading that the changes are due to the dry dock seems odd to us. Until this thread in CC I never thought to look at the website or my account and see it has disappeared. Since we booked 2.5 years out, we accept that changes to the itinerary can and will happen. If we were like many other cruisers and not on CC, we would be blissfully unaware of the theories proposed and the angst some are feeling. It's maybe a bit of drama I could do without. We await further updates from Regent. Best wishes for a Happy New Year.
  3. So yesterday we received a revised itinerary and today it is gone? It disappeared from our Regent account and can't be added under our original booking number..
  4. Sorry if I was confusing, what I posted above is the revised schedule we were sent today.
  5. I also posted this in the roll call. We got the email today with the change to the itinerary for the 64 night voyage, the schedule from Feb 12 to March 19 remains the same. The change is from March 20.
  6. We really enjoyed the lobster tail on the Flora in November. It was huge, neither of us could finish ours. We were B2B and they asked us what we wanted for lunch on turn-around day, we were the only B2B passengers so the buffet would not be open. Since the previous night was lobster night we asked if they had leftovers, we wound enjoy a lobster salad sandwich. They obliged and it was huge as well! We highly recommend the Flora (& Machu Picchu).
  7. Thanks for the report. We are B2B on the Flora, Nov 5 & 12, followed by Machu Picchu. (Assuming it happens as planned, Celebrity's system can't seem to handle this, looks like we are on the Flora and at MP on the 12. We'll double check when we board on the 5th that all is well.) Interesting about the dry dock, I was not aware.
  8. We were on the Explorer in May, Tokyo to Vancouver. We booked late and we could not get some of what we wanted, selection was meh. We were only interested in the included ones, some of the extra cost ones were quite expensive IMHO. We were not interested in helicopter, small plane or dog sled for $$$. In Ketchikan we did a guided hike, we arranged that directly on the ship last minute, replaced a scenic coach tour we did not want but had no choice when we booked our excursions. In Juneau the excursion was a bus ride to and from Mendenhall Glacier, once there you were on your own. In Seward there was a bus ride to the Sealife Centre and a talk by one of the staff - that was a last minute addition on the ship when whatever we had booked was cancelled. After the talk we were on our own to get back to the ship, there was a shuttle bus but we walked since it was not too far. In Kodiak we did a self guided hike, there was a bus from the ship to the park and back. Initially there were no tours in Dutch Harbor. Last minute they added a 'hop on hop off' (school) bus, but it 'sold out' by the time we asked. We just walked on our own, it is a very small place. Everything on the ship was pretty wonderful.
  9. It's been a while, but we were on over Christmas in 2017. Definitely yes to the gingerbread houses, a grand display of them. Ray was the CD and he hosted a Christmas show one evening. Also on Christmas Eve he did a Christmas Carol service. If I recall correctly, there was traditional turkey dinner but offered on Christmas Eve rather than Christmas Day? I am pretty sure there was a Yule Log dessert. I thought it all elegant and well done. Hopefully we cruise with Regent over Christmas again some day.
  10. Understood, but while we had 18 sleeps on the cruise we received 17 reward nights. The full day gained did not count. 😞
  11. We did the reverse in May. (You are doing it in the right direction. Losing all those hours was brutal, one hour a number of nights, and 2 hours one night. Ugh.) I saved our Passages. There was a shuttle from the pier (we were at Takamatsu Pier 2) to Sendai Rifu Aeon Mall. The disclaimer in Passages was that the shuttle should be used as a supplement to available local transportation such as taxis. We were on a tour so we did not use the shuttle.
  12. Ship - Explorer Sail Date - May 5, 2023 Yokohama to Vancouver Suite 863, Starboard, Aft, Concierge E Separate shower and bathtub Noise issues - None Would book again? - Absolutely Quiet location, large balcony with 2 chairs, table and a lounger. No longer close to the aft Laundrette which has been converted to a crew cabin.
  13. Slightly different terminology in the email advising us of the tour cancellation. 'This tour is part of our complimentary excursion promotion so there is no refund necessary.'
  14. We also received an email today for our May 5 cruise on the Explorer about a tour cancellation. We now have 2 ports with no tours available to us, and we are on a wait list for another port.
  15. Probably something to that. Captain Kate, who is with Celebrity Cruises, sails with her cat Bug Naked. The cat has quite the following on Instagram.
  16. One way to see the Air Allowance is by navigating to a specific cruise on the Regent website. Below the chart that has the prices by suite type there should be a line that states "A savings of up to $$$$$ per person is available when arranging your own flights and transfers."
  17. We are flying JAL from Vancouver to Tokyo in early May. Since it is a direct flight we were OK with it. There is a direct Air Canada flight an hour or so earlier than the JAL one, surprised it was not the one used by Regent. We would have preferred it to earn mileage points but was not worth the deviation fee, assuming it would have even been an option.
  18. Yes, I think they recently added this capability. Sign into you account, select 'My Tier and Points' at top right drop down from your name. A bit lower on the page is Points History.
  19. Not sure if it is the same for the overnight, but below is the advice on the Regent website for our 3-night pre cruise program - Vibrant Tokyo -- Please note that check in time at the hotel is at 4:00pm. Although every effort will be made to have the rooms available before this time, this cannot be guaranteed. Should you have a very early morning arrival you may wish to book an extra night so that your room is available when you arrive.
  20. Do you mean the April 25 cruise on the Explorer? We are on the May 5 cruise to Vancouver and are curious about what the requirements might be for our cruise.
  21. Good to know, we are on the Explorer in May. We have only been on the Voyager so far. We trooped out to the lifeboats, hand on the shoulder of the person in front of us.
  22. Curious to know when that was the case. In 2017 we were on 4 segments B2B and we had to attend the drill for each of the 4 segments. In addition, 2 of the segments were more than 14 days long so we also had to attend a refresher drill in the theatre, though we did not go to the lifeboats for those.
  23. I can't answer the question about the reservation number. I expect Regent has a block of rooms reserved and one is not yet in your name. We have often arrived early and left our luggage with the front desk of the hotel, they will give you a claim ticket for each one left. We have never had an issue, at home or in Europe. That said, we do keep our carry on with us.
