  1. I am anticipating an April fools day sale
  2. We are using the one we have seen recommended here on CC - Sentir Patagonia
  3. This is description of what we are doing This Protected Natural Area, declared a "Natural Heritage of Humanity", has one of the most fascinating ecosystems in the world: whales, orcas, sea lions, elephant seals, Magellanic penguins, maras, guanacos and choiques live in the same habitat. 56 km from Puerto Madryn we arrive at El Desemeño, the main access to Peninsula Valdés, the first stop will be at the interpretation center and from there to Estancia San Lorenzo located in the north of the Peninsula. The stay 56 km from Puerto Madryn we arrive at El Desemeño, the main access to Peninsula Valdes, the first stop will be at the interpretation center and from there to Estancia San Lorenzo located in the north of the Peninsula. Natural and cultural heritage The coast of San Lorenzo is home to wide beaches as well as cliff areas. The action of erosion and the passage of time left ancient reef areas of ancient fossils exposed in cliffs and ravines. They are true witnesses of a warm sea that flooded the region 20 million years ago. The existence and way of life can be interpreted through the permanence of animals and stone artifacts characteristic of their culture. In previous times, between 1917 and 1953, a sea lion oil factory operated on the beach, its ruins can be visited today as part of the historical heritage of the Valdés Peninsula. Along with the Magellanic penguins, San Lorenzo offers the possibility to observe elephant seals, guanacos, rheas, owls and a large number of birds. Eventually, right whales and orcas can be seen. Conservation Estancia San Lorenzo has a professional team of park rangers who are responsible for the natural and cultural conservation of the place. Our visitors can interact with them to learn the latest news about the penguin colony. Services Back at the Estancia, our guests can visit the interpretation center and the ranch premises where they can taste an exquisite grilled lamb. We also offer other menu options, including a vegetarian menu. Duration: 8 hours Includes: Vehicle A/C Guide in Spanish Estancia San Lorenzo Visit (Penguin colony) Visit to Punta Norte (Elephant seal watching) Lunch (1 empanada, 1 lamb sandwich, 1 flan) 1 non-alcoholic drink
  4. I assume you are on the Eclipse with us? 🙂 I did a lot of research on this. I do think the odds are better with Punta Tombo, but I was concerned I was going to spend most of the excursion driving to and from, and then see very few. We decided to go with Valdes. For what it is worth, our private tour operator told us we would see penguins at either. But, from what I can tell, we have a better chance of seeing more variety of wildlife at Valdes and a more scenic trip. Plus we will stop and eat at an Estanca (sp?) so there is that...
  5. But don't do this with a sold out excursion - it might actually have a wait list and you can't rebook...
  6. they are 25% off on my cruise. Strange...
  7. Yes, it was someone who posted about this issue with the dry cleaning (perhaps you?) that made me question whether I was going to be able to split the three bags into three different times or have to do all at once...
  8. Thank you! I could not find this threat by searching on "back home" for some reason. So customer service says all three at once but at least 2 people posted that you get three tix...so I think I will stick with the back home. Fingers crossed they don't tell me when I get on board that I need to do all three at once!
  9. Thanks for the reply. Can you point me to those descriptions on CC - maybe people who have done this? The description on X, to me, makes me think I can do three different bags. The difference to me is packing enough clothes for every 5 days or 8 days, which is obviously a big difference. FROM X: Allow our stateroom attendants to attend to your laundry while you enjoy your vacation. Fill up to three bags of laundry during your cruise, leave it in your room, and our attendants will wash, fold, and return your clothing to your stateroom.
  10. Thanks - so you have actually done this?
  11. I feel like I asked this question and got answers a couple months ago, but I can't find the posts. Instead of three separate laundry bag services, I purchased the "Back Home" Laundry bag. The description says it is three bags of laundry and is significantly less, even with the current discounts, than buying three individual bags for my 13 night cruise next month. My assumption is that I can do one bag, three different times during the cruise (and this is what I need, so that I can pack less). But someone just posted that they bought the 12-piece dry cleaning special and it was one-time, 12 pieces, not 12 individual times. Has anyone actually bought the Back Home Laundry Bag? Was it three times over the length of the cruise, or 1 time, three bags (thus perhaps meaning right before you disembark and go "back home"??)
  12. So it gets delivered to your room, but you can grab it and take it to dinner? I am wondering because there was no 20% gratuity added, seems kind of rude to take it to dinner..
  13. Have you tried doing it with an incognito window?
  14. do they provide body wash for certain? I don't like using bar soap and I will bring my own body wash if not a standard amenity in a non-suite cabin (on the Eclipse).
  15. Eclipse. 13 nights South America, leaving 5 weeks from Sunday🤩
  16. Awesome!! that is what I was hoping, that we could do one when we wanted (and split the 6 martinis) and another a different night, instead of on a schedule!
  17. I have booked several repositioning cruises or transatlantic (TA) cruises where I have priced this type of travel out. Definitely 10 years or so ago, there was a penalty to booking one way flights (for example to Barcelona for TA cruises the price for a one way on major US airlines was almost as much as the round trip). I think with increased competition from airlines whose pricing models don't punish you for booking one ways, this has definitely improved. But I personally have not seen any benefit to booking an "open jaw", which is technically just two one ways with the same airline. Unless one airline just happens to have the best price on the 2 one-ways it is better to price out different airlines. I am doing this trip (to Santiago, return from BA) in 4 weeks and 6 days 🙂. I priced out multiple (read hundreds) of flights in different configurations over a few weeks and also booked and cancelled about a half dozen options - always booked refundable then cancelled and rebooked when I found something better. I looked at a RT ticket to either BA or Santiago with a flight between them on a local airline at the beginning or end of the trip. I compared those rates to pricing one way flights to/from every major airport on in the southern and eastern US (and some in the Midwest), knowing that if I found a good non-stop into/out of the US, I could always find a flight between any US city and my hometown - and probably use points for the shorter leg. In the end, I booked 2 one ways with different airlines and got what I consider really good bargains; and all seats are either business class/premium economy/first class but for one very short (1.5 hour) flight. My point to the OP is that if the cruise was leaving and returning to the same port (either BA or Santiago), from the pricing I saw, RT airfare would have been less than most of the 2 one way options I was finding - and certainly easier to price and compare. YMMV.
  18. Do you just show up and ask for it at any time, or is this a scheduled event?
  19. Hello - I pre-purchased the Martini Flight but I am not really sure how it works. Can you just go and get it any time or is it a scheduled event? It is on the flash sale and I am thinking of getting 2 since I am on a 13 night cruise.
  20. This is on their website now, 1 bottle per passenger: https://www.celebritycruises.com/company/customer-support/conduct-policy#alcohol-policy Guests are not permitted to bring alcoholic beverages onboard; with the exception of embarkation day when each guest (of legal drinking age) is permitted to bring onboard one (1) 750 ml bottle of wine (which are subject to a corkage fee) per guest. A corkage fee does not apply to guests with the Classic Beverage Package or Premium Beverage Package. Security may inspect containers (including water bottles, soda bottles, mouthwash, canteens, etc.) at any time and will dispose of alcohol concealed in such containers. Alcoholic beverages that are purchased from onboard shops or in ports of call (which must be presented to security upon re-boarding), will be secured by ship's personnel. Alcohol secured by ship's personnel will be returned to guests just prior to the conclusion of their cruise vacation. Guests who are under the permitted drinking age will not have alcohol returned to them.
  21. Do you have any say over the time? When I go to book it doesn't tell me when I can do it. I don't want it to be booked at a time we have something else we really want to do...
  22. I am about to purchase. We don't have the drink package and this seems like a fun thing to share with my sister (I don't think either one of would want to drink all 6 on our own). When you pre-purchase can you just go to the bar and get it anytime you want?
  23. I flew into Seattle for a cruise out of Vancouver last year and the cruise line (HAL) provided (for a reasonable fee), a bus transport from Seatac to Port of Vancouver. This was for people like myself who found it much less expensive to fly into Seattle (AND pay for a hotel) than flying into Vancouver. Could you not do the same thing in reverse or is Celebrity not offering that? There are private coaches that do the same trip. It takes about 4 hours, door to door basically, and was maybe $60??. If you don't want to fly out of Seatac right away, then train or uber into downtown Seattle or spend the night at Seatac first then go in the next day.
  24. Do they have happy hour on board normally (for non-elite)? I thought I saw that in an activity schedule... we are not getting the drink package, would be nice to be able to get a happy hour drink now an again, but I am only "classic".
  25. My plan is to use one device to be on my phone or ipad, then my sister will do the same with the 2nd device...so for 2 devices we both get wifi, just one device at a time. From what I have been told, this is allowed....they don't care what 2 devices are on at any one time.
