  1. We did not have the same snorkeling luck, but based on hearing these good reports I think we will try it again. We had heard it was good, but maybe we hit it after a storm or some other fluke reason for it being bad. That is why views from others is so helpful. Thanks everyone

  3. Ok it is the Shete Boka National Park for the crashing waves. House was connected tonslavery and an indigenous Indian group. Google curacao crashing waves and there are some great pics of the natl park.

  4. You will love Curacao. The town is great to explore. I personally like am hours as it can be hot, mostly the air does not move thru the town real well. Also the floating market is a great thing to see and it tends to be more active in am. It is really fun to be walking across the floating swing bridge when a ship goes in or out. It swings open when you are standing on it. The picturesque side is the popular part to explore but do not miss going across the bridge and explore the other side too as there are many historical sites. There is a ferry that goes back and forth between the sides if you do not want to walk the bridge both times.

Snorkeling is not as great as in other ports but there are some very unique land sights. The flamingos in the salt flats are interesting, but be sure to walk around as there can be some of the most unique starfish you will ever see on the flats. One coast (sorry I cannot remember which one or name of park but I will try to look it up) is beautiful. Crashing waves, blowholes, caves. Magnificent site! Best pics are in am tho so could conflict with town tour. Either time tho it is a fabulous site well worth the time to see. There are also some beautiful coves and secluded beaches worth seeing and even swimming if you have time. There is also a historical house that is very interesting to go through. I will try to get name of that too. Take every minute to explore. It is different from any other Caribbean port you will go to.

    Have fun!

  5. I can only answer your first question. Usually hours are 5 to 8:30 or 4:30 to 8:30. It may not be an issue though as now 3 drinks per person (diamond and above) are loaded on your sea pass card and you can go to any lounge for these drinks during the lounge hours so you could be with your friends if you choose, and still get your free drinks. If you are in a suite, but not diamond or above, I am guessing the same thing is done, but have not seen that issue addressed.

Sorry I cannot answeryour other questions. Have fun!

  6. If you want a Courtyard Marriott I would choose the one on Isla Verde over Miramar. You will be right on the beach, recently renovated, onsite casino, r es staurants and great live salsa music on the weekend. 21$ cab fare to the port, plus 1$ per bag, which is a fixed rate. Water can be rough sometimes but more often than not the protection of the outer reefs make for great swimming. Two pools, hot tubs, and swim up bar......and our favorite, hammocks for laying around and reading a book while looking at the sea.

  7. I second the ships are equally great for different reasons. If port stops are important definitely choose Adventure. Plus it is fun to go out of Puerto Rico. It is like an extra port! If you enjoy just hanging out on the ship then Oasis is your best bet as you can experience so much without ever leaving the ship. Either choice will give you a great trip.

  8. I would encourage a balcony. Remember it stays light almost all night for a good portion of the sailing dates. Also for things like the inside passage it is marvelous! There are other places people swear by being able to run back and forth to both sides of the ship. But that is personal preference. Sometimes there are whales on one side but not the other and things like that. Anyway, it is some of the most magnificent scenery, especially if you go through the inside passage and hubbard glacier.

  9. Hands down ffl flight would be my personal choice. Easier airport to navigate. Miami can be a lengthy immigration process because it services so many intnl flights. Getting in at 4:15pm in fll wouldbe appreciated as you grab luggage and go. You would have most of the evening to unwind after a long flight. Miami flight may rssult in getting to your fll destination quite late. Miami is a lengthy taxi/shuttle, approx40 minutes in good traffic. though there are good transport options should you decide to take advantage of them. Weather could be an issue in nyc, but odds are in your favor that even if it is an issue, you would get out within a day. If I had my personal choice I would gamble the weather for the ease of fll compared to Miami. Luggage transport is a definite plus too. If you do choose Miami, you probably could get ship transfer to airport on departure, but obviously you are on your own when coming in early.

  10. Ps taking an air conditioned bus would NOT be the way to see osj. Streets are too narrow, and too much to see walking, ie churches, architecture, cafes, historical sites, plazas. You can walk the whole town and fort in a day.

  11. Actually another way for disinclined walkers is to take the free trolley to the forts and walk down. It is all uphill walking and can very hot and humid. Walking down is way easier :) either way, just know there is free trolley. It stops numerous places from the dock to the forts and you can get off and on at many places. There are signs at all the stopping places. If you start walking and get tired, get on and ride a bit. It is an easy town to navigate and one of the most fun!

  12. Time of year definitely impacts the cruise. Generally speaking rccl has more kids because of the activities offered on board. The one thing about halmis that the bars tend to end their music much earlier than the other 2 lines. Music tends to end beyween 10 and 10:30pm. On the other lines it goes til early morning. Parents like the kids clubs on rccl so alot fravitate for that reason too. Celebrity is somewhere between hall and rccl when it comes to demographics but as has been stated it depends on ship, itinery and time of year. If you can travel when s hool is in session you will rarely run into an overrun of kids.

The shows differ quite a bit from line to line, but again that is dependent on the actual ship somewhat. Same goes for food varience. Most pick shipd for itinery offered, cost, activities offered and loyalty perks they may have accumulated. Based on those criteria, whatever line you choose you will probably enjoy it. We have sailed all three lines multiple times, with and without kids and enjoyed each one for different reasons. Pick the best match and then go have the time of your lives!

  13. I think all these nasty sarcastic responses are being written by those people who didn't get educated and make reasonable choices for their own protection ......and now a mosquito bit them and it is effecting their brain. If the only thing you have to do, is get on cc and make nasty comments, you truly have more problems then anyone who would be unfortunate enough to get this virus.

  14. Take an excursion to de palm island. There is a waterpark, shallow cove swimming, restaurants, snackbars, showers, restrooms and lots of beautiful sand. Way less crowded than some of the beaches like palm beach.

  15. Yes for sure those old ships were tiny and once you book a balcony there is no going back. Sadly for my credit cards and bank account we tried a suite, now can't go back! Then one week wasn't enough so we started b2b cruises and now 7 days is way too short. I am getting to where I may as well buy my own ship! But you know, if you work hard then why not enjoy! We love cruising and we love balconies for all the eloquent reasons stated above. And so comes the wish of Bon Voyage no matter your choice of ship, cabin or length of cruise.....it is always agood voyage!
