  1. I am responding blindly (without checking out fares). I don't know if you are looking at 3rd and 4th passengers free promotion? But if all things were paid...have you considered a balcony/ocean view with an interior across the hall? You would have 2 bathrooms. No one would need to sleep on the sofa. You can have access for both cabins on your medallion. Don't know where you are cruising. On a Grand?GEM Class like the Ruby, you really don't have the option of a sofa unless you book a higher category. All things equal, if you had to pay for 3 passengers in a mini-suite/suite, it might be more cost effective to drop down a category and get 2 cabins.
  2. If you ever solve this, you could get a job with Princess IT. I am no help to you. Sorry.
  3. I asked a friend (Assistant Maitre d') about tips in US dollars. He told me that Princess is US currency based. These are his exact text: "Our company policy is US dollar and I don't think this will be hard for any crew. Is easy to change and then don't lose the value." From that...I came to the following (flawed???) conclusion. Princess "must" provide a banking system on the ship. I can't imagine allowing the crew to stash thousands of dollars per contract in their cabin. A $2 bill has a face value of two dollars if banked or wired home. It may be a little more difficult for them to spend it in a US port, but not impossible. When was the last time you used a silver dollar, a half dollar, or a Susan B Anthony coin? Does the younger generation even know what these are? I bet if I walked into a CVS and handed someone a Susan B Anthony coin, I would receive really strange looks by the younger cashiers.
  4. I never had the chance to try the fresh squeezed jar bar. Now, I regret not doing it on previous cruises. What upsets/disappoints me is that Princess introduces these innovative "new" items as the best of the best. It doesn't take long for them to modify the offerings. Fresh squeezed juices from real fruit does not equate to something that is poured into a machine from a box. Then they are introducing the NEW...best of the best pizza. Will it show up at Slices for free or be part of casual dining pizza...or better yet, a surcharge to upgrade to this pizza at a casual dining venue. They included two (2) a day sundaes and then increased the price of Plus/Premier. Who eats 2 a day? Maybe one during the entire cruise or 1 in your lifetime. This is a laundry list of other introductions that have benefitted Princess and not the passengers. Just sad. BTW...I do like your assessment/ratings for your review. Thank you.
  5. IF...your travel mate is in the same cabin as you... THEN...She can wait in the Platinum section at the terminal. She can join you for the Platinum, Elite, Suite cocktail hour. She may/may not attend the Captain Circle Party (depends on the Future Cruise person) Platinum members are not allowed in the Elite Lounge at the terminal. Depending on the cruise port, some have a separate seating area for Platinum guests away from the general boarding seating. (I think Port Everglades and I know San Pedro.) Boarding priority: In-transit, Wedding Parties (if they are still doing this), Suites/Elite, Platinum, General Boarding.
  6. The OP asked a simple question with their intention of tipping. I think the question has been answered. Tipping is a very personal option. All this extra "trying to justify" is irrelevant. I tip for room service. I pool a bunch of singles and a few fives together in an easy to access location so I am not fumbling as I try to answer/open the door. I also always have individually wrapped candy bites/minis (Snickers seem to be a favorite). They gingerly take one before I tell them they can have as many as they like. (Thanks to another poster for this idea. I think it was @Ombud). This is just me. Whatever kindness you share is greatly appreciated by the crew. Even a "Thank You" goes a long way.
  7. No, I do not. I am not a coffee enthusiast. The few specialty coffees that I do drink seem to be okay, but it’s flavored with sugar and cream….haha
  8. The IC brewed coffee has a charge or unlimited with Plus/Premier.
  9. And this is the reason I gave up (and haven't returned) to drinking coffee on the ships. I will have Plus on my next cruise. No need to drink Lavazza coffee next time around.
  10. And tomorrow, I won't remember the name either. One piece of information I don't need to clutter up already crowed brain. But Thank You. Is it any good?
  11. How "new" is this new app? I am not seeing a recent update for the iPhone.
  12. I think much depends on where you are cruising. I usually only purchase Princess Protection Platinum. But I have an excellent health plan in addition to Medicare. When I got Covid, we were ported/just leaving St. John's Newfoundland. Automatically denied by Medicare. Princess/AON/my medical picked up everything else. Cost me nothing but the insurance. Keep in mind that Princess insurance will also cover you with EZ Air. A friend of mine with only Medicare purchased AON and an outside insurance. They only claimed outside insurance. Outside insurance only paid remaining balance since OBC was applied to bill. They chose not to contest payment or refile with AON.
  13. Princess has replaced the awful syrupy coffee with a better quality brew. I don’t remember the name. Buffet/morning: juices, coffee, teas (hot chocolate for a fee), milk afternoon: lemonade MDR: hot/cold chocolate (no fee), coffee, tea, (hot/iced), milk, lemonade, juices. It doesn’t look like you can order the water from the app. You will need to sign into your personalizer. I did it a while back so can’t help you there.
  14. The water on the ship is very drinkable (water is desalinated). Some have claimed that there is still some salt residue that leaves them swollen. You can pre-purchase water bottles (see above). You are NOT SUPPOSED to bring on board water in plastic bottles...only in cans. This may vary. Policy says that you need to check wine purchased in a port. This may vary. I brought 4 large bottles of water back to the Diamond Princess (even after buying the water package). I was not stopped. You are limited to one 12 pack case of soda per person. This may vary.
  15. That doesn't leave you much of a choice either. I like suites. I don't care of the bow or aft locations. I know that some consider these premium locations. If Princess should build more ships... smaller is better Caribe/Dolphin would be ideal for mid-ship suites and a concierge's lounge
  16. Why Princess deems the deck under the pool as Suite Preferred is beyond me. To me (my opinion), worst location for a suite is under a public deck.
  17. I am very thankful that I don't have to pay for this cruise nor the excursions. Love traveling vicariously with you.
  18. Why not approach someone on the ship? Customer Service Supervisor or talk an ear off with an officer when they are wandering around the ship. In my opinion, I think it is rather late to make these changes. Did you get your port fees returned?
  19. Thank you. I should know better, no excuses.
  20. The Mother of the Sea is a beautiful sculpture located near the colonial harbour. The sculpture is partially covered by water at high tide, so it's best viewed at low tide.
  21. I got the warning for my 60 minute connection. I pleaded my case. Even told EZ Air that they could re-route me. No deal. They said I could do it. Ha! I did, but it took some creative interventions. I was the last one through the door before the flight closed. I even tried to go standby on an earlier flight. First on the wait list. FULL.
  22. I did receive a notice from EZ Air about my flight changes. There is a red flag (words) that says to check changes. I did not receive a notice from Delta, but that may be because I don't have notifications turned on for them. Had to notify my sister that they also changed equipment and we had to re-select our seats.
  23. For your information (after the fact): Aside from making the town/settlement more attractive, these colors were practical – serving to indicate the function of the building: Red = commercial houses, churches, government buildings Yellow = hospitals, health services Green = telecommunications Blue = fish factories Black = police station
