  1. I am hoping for early 2023 is when I'll be back cruising again. Wishful thinking? What do you think? Are you waiting for this time just like me?
  2. I agree with you. I also no longer have any desire to argue about this with my friends, family or even on-line. The other side of the argument is out there for all those who really wish to do their research so they can make an informed decision. When we have opposing viewpoints, at a certain point, we just have to agree to disagree 🙂 I sincerely hope it all works out for those who have gotten the vaccine.
  3. As soon as possible, or maybe never. If/when this covid ordeal is behind us and there is no more need for a vaccine, that is when I'll be back on. But it that never happens, then.... never unfortunately. 🤔
  4. Any news on what is going to happen to all the Alaskan cruises which need to spend at least 1 day in a Canadian port because of the Jones Act?? I still see these cruises available for booking on line so I am wondering if they are trying to work things out. I wonder if Canada would allow the cruise ship to just dock in a Canadian port if the passengers and crew do not get off. Seems like a win- win solution to me and I don't see any harm in that or am I missing something??
  5. I think a cruise with sea days along with a stop over in one of their private islands would be an awesome idea. It would be a great way to get things started again for the cruise ships to give it a test run and see how it will go. I think many people would enjoy a little get away like this for even 3-4 days. I sure would! And the cruise ship could focus more on revenue from onboard activities such as the casino, beverages, shopping , art, bingo, etc. and whatever creative ideas they can come up with. They would have a captive audience since you would be on the cruise ship for the entire cruise or on their own private island.
  6. I wonder how this will affect cruising? In the article linked below, it states the following?? “Getting vaccinated does not say now I have a free pass to travel,” Dr. Anthony Fauci, the White House chief medical adviser, said in a CNN global town hall last week. https://www.newsmax.com/health/health-news/coronavirus-vaccine-safety-tips/2021/02/03/id/1008467/?ns_mail_uid=4d846252-0d35-4ba3-980a-5397e292267d&ns_mail_job=DM188058_02072021&s=acs&dkt_nbr=010102ybzavb
  7. Forgive me if I am missing something , but does the vaccine just help make symptoms less if you do get covid so therefore you have less of a risk of being hospitalized or die from covid?? So therefore , everyone who gets the vaccine could still very well get covid???
  8. I miss cruising. I miss our old life. And cruising was someone we really enjoyed doing in our old life.
  9. The Maasdam , with their fabulous itinerary and EXC program and wonderful speakers had to the be the best cruise experience we've ever had on any cruise ship. (but it is now sold) Next choice would be the Konningsdam . We haven't been on the New Statendam yet, but I heard it is similar with a few improvements. We will go on it next chance we get
  10. I have my eye on a cruise for the end of March, 2022. About 1 year and 3 months from now. I am already counting the days!
  11. Just wondering: Are you aware of any source to find out how many people to date (in the general public- not in clinical trials) in the USA (or worldwide for that matter) have received the vaccine since it has been available to the public? I haven't found anything personally and was wondering if any exists.
