  1. Hyatt Place on SE. 10Th. St. or Riverside down town. Embassy Suites is a dump. Every other hotel on 17TH,ST, is nicer than E.S.
  2. Last time we left H.P. walked down 10 min before boarding, got on shuttle at 11.00 went straight to our ship. was at the port in 10 min. They have multiple shuttles for ships at this location. No standing around waiting for an uber just to save $5. To each his own.
  3. I have been looking for a post cruise stay and Hampton Inn B.L. area looks to be all fast food.
  4. Just wanting to hear from others what they liked and did not like. Tired of reading reviews. Looking for good suggestions firsthand, good or bad. Have not been out of Miami in about 12 years. Nothing special, just what was clean, had a good time there, ect. Post up!!!!!!
  5. Valutrips.com for a stay at Hyatt Place on se10th.St. just off 17th. St. behind Embassy Suites. Fri, and Sat, thru V.T. is a considerable discount. $119 a night. We are staying there in May pre and post cruise, and have been using V.T. over 5-6 times in the past for this hotel. They also have a parking package at the hotel, not sure if it is available if you use V.T. for your stay. I would contact the hotel to find out. Most hotels in the area are $180 a night or more.
  6. Got our on board credit $100 just last week for our May 10 day cruise on Emerald.
  7. We have an October cruise coming up and are staying Pre Cruise at the Yotel. Looking for recommendation on a Post cruise hotel for 1 day. Have not cruised out of Miami in over 12 years and have stayed at the Intercontinental and Holiday Inn in the past. Just looking for suggestions on what you like and ones you have not liked. Not concerned on price. Thank you.
  8. It does happen if they are filled up. I would try Trivago.
  9. It is about 25 miles and 45 min ride. Have done it a few times.
  10. Margaritaville $$$$$$ I have cruised for $400 PP for 6 nights in the past let alone 1 night stay. OUCH!!!!!
  11. No, but it is considerably less expensive as booking with the hotel, and others in the area.
  12. What dates are the 2 of you trying to get? They have blackout dates on the bottom of the page. Post your dates. Sometimes they can be very slow to get back to you.
  13. Try calling the hotel directly and ask if they have your reservation. Valutrips can sometimes take 7-10 for there email. We have always been approved.
  14. The shuttle is just easier. Show up at your time slot and away you go. Taxi are a pain in Ft.Lauderdale, they are always trying to overcharge people. Is a few $$$$ really worth the hassle to go 2 miles. I have been to this hotel over 8 times in the past 10 years and have seen people standing around waiting for a taxi that never comes.
  15. Road is blocked shut down from Eisenhower Blvd, east over causeway then to the north right where it turns north. Have never heard of anything like this in this area, ever.
  16. We are staying at the Yotel on Ne 2nd St, 1 block off of Biscayne Blvd in October for our Icon cruise. Rates were reasonable compared to most others. Very close to the port and Bayside.
  17. https://www.google.com/maps/place/1850+Eller+Dr,+Fort+Lauderdale,+FL+33316/@26.0981037,-80.1318289,18z/data=!4m15!1m8!3m7!1s0x88d9000acb53aa5b:0xb27ceb98027011f0!2s1850+Eller+Dr,+Fort+Lauderdale,+FL+33316!3b1!8m2!3d26.0816224!4d-80.1205692!16s%2Fg%2F11bw3_l97g!3m5!1s0x88d9000acb53aa5b:0xb27ceb98027011f0!8m2!3d26.0816224!4d-80.1205692!16s%2Fg%2F11bw3_l97g?entry=ttu Map of the area, you can blow it up.
  18. We love Duffy's , they have really good food and 2 for 1 drinks all day every day. It is a sports bar with good food. Gilberts is a smaller cafe with home made type food. You can get to both very easy by walking out the side door of Hyatt Place then walking across the street going to the right. 1/2 block down is LA Fitness, walk thru there parking garage to the Harbor Shops area. This is where Duffy's and Gilberts are, its a short cut to get there. Mezzaluna and Outback steakhouse are next to the hotel on SE 10th. St.
  19. I am pretty sure they would have it fixed if you were there last May.
  20. Cab fare is about $15. it is only 2.5 miles away. I have never seen Renaissance. or Hilton Marina cheaper than H.P. thru Valutrips. They are usually $200 a night Friday or Saturday. Escruiser, the hotels along 17th street are all OK or better. Embassy Suites is about the worst, and its really Ok for 1 night. The thing is most along this street are much better. We like Hyatt Place, clean, good location, close to food, 2 wine stores only 2 blocks away. Very close to the port. We will not stay anywhere else after 10-12 cruises from Ft. Lauderdale.
  21. Thanks, good to know. My mistake.
  22. E.S, Huge, crowded, elevators on cruise morning, 5-10 min wait. lines for breakfast 50-60 people. Rooms are very, very dated. this was 2 years ago. Holiday Inn, was just OK for 1 night stay, 3 years ago. Nothing special. Hyatt Place is the nicest of the 3 by a bunch. Very friendly staff. If you arrive early they will try to get you into a room as soon as possible. Smaller hotel, Ok breakfast, rooms are slightly dated, and I mean slightly, but always clean. We have been to this hotel over 6-7 times and have it booked 2 nights pre, and 2 nights post cruise this May. It is very close to the Harbor shops and other restaurants, 2-3 short blocks walk. They also do shuttles in the morning to the port for $ 8-9 pp. You can book it online thru a site called Valutrips.com for $ 109 or $119 a night from May thru November. Other months it is quite a few $$$ more. There are a few black out dates at the bottom of the page.
