Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Milk can get frothy if shaken. I didn't think this was abnormal.
  2. I'm another Tribe reader who didn't follow the clues for this "surprise" trip. Thanks for sharing, love this trip so far. Have a fantastic time.
  3. @UKstages That was one of the most entertaining "rants" (as someone else called it) I've read here on CC. Thanks for sharing your experience - the good, the bad and the ugly of it all. We sailed on the Encore inaugural transatlantic in 2019 and had a noise issue/creaking in our room that kept us awake. Guest services first explained this was normal for a new ship. We pressed the issue since sleeping became a problem, and we were eventually moved to a different room. A smaller room was offered first, yet we politely requested a room at least the same size and we were accommodated. Last year we sailed the Prima inaugural transatlantic. Our room did not have any creaking but our friends next door did. They did not complain or request to be moved so they managed. (We didn't care for the Prima design and cancelled the Viva transatlantic. Here's hoping for a better ship layout for Leonardo #3.)
  4. Hi @GenerationX. First time reading one of your reviews and won't be the last - this is terrific. Question: what camera (or phone?) did you use for this picture? It's stunning. Thanks for sharing your adventure. (And thanks to @mkcurran for sharing this thread.)
  5. I was on this cruise also in a BA cabin. I asked for a robe and was given two.
  6. Thanks for the reply. We just received confirmation that we have enough people for this tour to happen so we're excited.
  7. I don't recall you not liking any of the beers that you've tried anywhere? P.S. Thanks for sharing this epic trip.
  8. This line was off the ship. Just head over to where you would normally stand in line to get on the vehicle/vessel for the actual excursion. We stood in line like we had tickets, then told the excursion person we were there to wait for a possible cancellation. She told us to stand off to the side and wait and we would be notified. I kept an eye on the person I spoke to, and stood close by so as not to be forgotten. Eventually the person waved us over because of the last minute cancellation. She asked for our cabin number and gave us a hand written receipt for the charge, and we were on our way.
  9. We sailed on the Dawn in December and wanted to partake in a sold out excursion. The shorex employee suggested waiting in/at that specific excursion line the morning of in case of a cancellation. It worked in our favor and we were able to go.
  10. We were booked on the Dawn for the week after the cruise shutdown. About a month beforehand I had called and paid to upgrade to the DOS for $1000 total from a balcony. At the time, the room offered the amenities you listed. It will always be a misty-eyed moment of "we were so close".
  11. Royal Majesty (with my mother) was my first cruise. She was a heavy smoker and back then you could smoke in the cabin (and everywhere else), and since we shared a cabin that part was awful. Everything else was terrific though and like you, I was hooked.
  12. Wow! I've never read such a thorough review. I've gleaned so much information (loved the tips and "Did you know"s) for our first Alaska trip next year. Fantastic read - thanks for sharing!
